Teen pointe Ballet Pre elementary
Teenage students can study pointe dancing in conjunction with their ballet training. Students need to be assessed for suitable foot strength, flexibility and muscular-skeletal foot structure before taking this class. This is best done by a Physio.

Teen Ballet Pre elementary
Teenage students learn the Pre-elementary ballet syllabus and can sit an annual exam if they wish. The class also includes open work and choreography for performances. Pointe class is available straight after for students with suitable foot strength, flexibility and structure.

Talent Group age 8 and under (Auditioned)
With entry by audition, this competition contemporary class is for highly talented children who will represent our school in competitions and community performances. Children must display strong dance technique acquired through ballet training alongside other styles, and excellent stage presence. We are willing to take children on potential with the expectation that they will work hard to reach performance standard. Students must also attend both ballet classes for their age group and complete the relevant exam. It is preferred that they make use of the Elite Performer package, with payment capped at 4 classes per week, enjoying unlimited attendance to all classes on offer. Included in this package is the exam fee, trophy and full report.
Students will need to pay for entry fees for 2 or more competitions during the year at about $30 each.
Please bring black leggings from home to add to our set ballet uniform. Students also need to purchase our uniform contemporary footwear at $15 per pair. It is recommended that students bring a filming device to class to record material for home practice.

This class offers children the chance to experience 3 different styles of Performing Arts; Ballet, Hip hop&Jazz and singing at a highly discounted price. They undertake the level 2 ballet syllabus and performance work. (It is recommended that students also take Saturday 10.50am class to complete the level). Your child will be with us for 1 hour and 30 minutes. When calculating family discounts, this class (having already been discounted) counts as 1 class. Please purchase our ballet uniform and shoes and bring plain black leggings from home.

Talent group members need to undertake 2 ballet lessons a week alongside their talent group. It is recommended that they purchase the Elite package.

Fairy Ballet and Singing 3-5 years Saturday
This class for 3 to 5 year olds entails ballet, singing and jazz dance. Establish early ballet technique through mirroring the teacher during a series of fun ballet exercises. We avoid the slow, laborious approach used by some schools, focussing on learning through moving. Students then engage in song games and mini dances with parachutes, ribbons and props to establish vocal pitch, rhythm and coordination.

A perfect follow on from Fairy Ballet for Prep or Grade 1 students.....This class offers 5 and 6 year olds the chance to experience 3 different styles of Performing Arts. The first 30 minutes teaches children the Prep ballet syllabus and performance work. Students then sing and dance popular songs for their age group. This includes some hip hop and jazz style dance and song games.

Junior Choir APS Grades Prep-2
This class for Prep to Grade 2 students at Alphington Primary School offers a solid foundation in singing training. Kodaly based song games help students to develop a strong sense of pitch while having fun. Students learn about elements of music such as dynamics, rhythm, melody and simple part singing. They receive vocal training such as correct sound production and use of the voice. They perform repertoire from child appropriate Pop, Musical Theatre, Film and other Contemporary music.

Senior Choir (Pop) Age 8-12
This vocal group for Grade 3 to 6 children (from any school) offers students the chance to develop their vocal skills while singing their favourite music. Free supervision from 3:30pm is offered at APS. In lessons, they engage in 'vocal gymnastics' to develop pitch and tone. Through vocal games, they learn basic music theory such as interval names or minor versus major. They learn to sing in harmonies/parts while maintaining pitch. Students learn correct microphone and vocal recording techniques. Some of their performance items are choreographed and they explore the concepts of performance charisma and stage presence.The repertoire is predominantly age-appropriate pop music with some songs from other genres in the mix. Students enrolled in the choir are prioritised for access to the limited private singing lesson places.

Junior Song and Dance at SAS Prep to Grade2
This class for Prep to Grade 2 students at Saint Anthony's School combines basic training in dance and singing. The class is broken onto 20 minutes of dance training with warm up, travelling and elevation work; 20 minutes of singing training with pitch training (Kodaly based song games) and vocal techniques. Students then combine their learning in song and dance routines to child appropriate Pop, Music Theatre and film music.
