A slow to moderate paced class great for beginners and those wanting to take things a little slower or keep it traditional. Here we cover all the basic technique and traditional dances in a multi level setting, meaning we may from time to time rotate the floor to allow newcomers to learn a step or more experienced dancers to practice a dance familiar to them. Although we will recap basic positions and steps each week if you feel you would benefit from some additional instruction get in touch to learn more about our Irish dance 101 private and semi private options.

This multi level class will run as any other class beginning with warm up & stretch*, hard shoe specific technique and drills at a basic level. The floor will then be rotated to allow for traditional and beginner dances to be taught while also giving opportunity to our more seasoned dancers to practice other steps. This is a great opportunity to learn through observation. Focusing on traditional dances such as hornpipes, treble jigs. treble reels and more. This class will cover the basics of percussive Irish dance. steps can be danced close to the floor or with full contemporary technique and vigor. Much like a "choose your own adventure" you know your own abilities and can decide on the modification that best suits you.

Beginner 1
This introductory level is for dancers who have never taken an Irish Dance class or are reviewing and improving foundational technique and movements from pre-beginner. Dancers are required to wear socks, ballet slippers, or Irish Soft Shoes. This level focuses on the following core requirements:

- Foundational technique, skills, and posture
- Musical awareness and timing
- Beginner solo movements and steps

Pointing
Turnout and foot positions fundamental to Irish Dance

This class will focus on Grade 1 - Easy Reel and Light Jig. Dancers who master this grade will be recommended to move to Beginner 2 class at the point of mastery.

Have 1 or 2 years of experience and demonstrate all Beg. I movements & steps with proficiency

If a dancer has not been dancing for a full year, but is able to demonstrate all Beginner I movements & steps with proficiency, the dancer may receive approval to register in the Beginner 2 level

This level focuses on the following goals:
- Improve the foundational technique, skills, posture, rhythm, and timing learned in Beginner I
- Learn additional soft shoe movements and steps to expand dancer’s knowledge and repertoire
- learn and assessments for Grades 1 & 2

Open to dancers age 5 and up who has completed at least 1 year of class at Club Rince and achieved Grade 1 (Beginner Reel and Light Jig) or Teacher Recommendation.

Learn Ceilis and Choreography to perform in the community for shows and demonstrations. Learn additional choreography for Christmas, St Patrick's Day, and Hooley.

Commitment must be made to join this class. Dancers must be in attendance each week for choreography. Dancers who miss an excess number of classes won't be permitted to perform. Dancers must perform in Christmas show, Morris Co Parade, and Hooley.

Additional Wardrobe fee for this class.

a class designed for young children ages 3 - 5. Ideal for dancers who are not yet in Kindergarten.
Class will focus on the basics of Irish dance and music incorporating traditional and contemporary movements. Grade 1 (beginner Reel and beginner Light Jig) will be introduced and once achieved, dancers may move to Beginner 1.

A program that invites special needs children to participate in our inclusive Irish Dance classes. All dancers will have the opportunity to be part of a year round dance program with performance opportunities in our shows, parades and community exhibitions.

A judgment free, stare free, safe space for children and families of children with Autism, significant developmental & speech delays, and sensory processing disorder. This class is ideal for children that require additional processing time with plenty of repetition and familiar structure each class. Parents/caregivers are required to be present and participate with their child allowing them to learn at their own pace with a familiar face.

Class run time is 45 mins with time allotted at the start and end of each class for dancers to arrive and leave without being rushed. Music volume is kept at a minimal level with sensory devices such as swings, slides, trampoline, and crash pads available for children to use to help self-regulate if needed. Easy to follow movements and steps grounded in Irish Dance and set to traditional Irish and popular music are taught using a combination of visual & verbal prompts and cues.

Dancers from our youth and adult programs will from time to time be present as peer models to allow for an inclusive environment. A limited number of spaces will be available for each class.

After registration, please expect an email and phone call from the directors and instructors to learn more about your dancer and how best they will be supported in this program.

A fast paced class aimed at teens and adults with at least 1 - 2 years of prior experience. Dancers should be familiar with common Irish dance vocabulary and technique. New material taught the previous week will be revised but not retaught. Although we understand schedules and unexpected situations do occur from time to time preventing your ability to attend class we cannot always slow class down to catch you up. Please be patient with yourself and wait for the next opportunity to learn missed material.
