Jazz - Pre-Primary 2 Rose Loignon-LaPointe Jazz dance technique was designed to rebel against traditional ballet. Jazz dance is energetic and fun, showcasing exaggerated movements, fancy footwork, big leaps and fast turns with an attitude that the dancer conveys to the audience. This style of dance is faster than ballet, which most students find more enjoyable and easier to follow. However, to excel in jazz, dancers need a strong background in ballet. KaliAndrews Dance Company offers Jazz dance classes for all ages. Beginners and experienced dancers are welcome. In our syllabus-based jazz classes, students will study exam preparation work in Term 1 and move into preparation for our recital performance throughout Term 2. Recommended additional classes: Ballet Dress Code Girls: Black Sleeveless Body Suit & Black Convertible Tights or Black Tank Top or Sports Bra & Black Shorts or Leggings, Black Slip on Jazz Shoes. Ponytail or Bun. Boys: Black T-Shirt, Black Shorts or Leggings, Black Slip on Jazz Shoes. Ages 6-6 |

Acro - Pre-Primary 1 Rose Loignon-LaPointe Acrobatic Dance and Circus Style Acrobatics are a unique twist on the usual styles of dance. Acrobatic Dance, is both an athletic sport and a performing art which offers a dazzling array of unique skills and personalities to the audience. The most visible display of Acrobatics can currently be seen in the world-famous Cirque du Soleil. Our recreational programs are a perfect spot for students to learn the fundamentals of Acrobatic Dance. Students work on their flexibility and strength before attempting their tricks with experienced, qualified spotters and instructors. Basic tricks such as Splits, Back-bends, Rolls and Cartwheels are introduced immediately after obtaining the proper strength for support. Participants also learn the basic fundamentals of multiple acrobatic balances such as Head, Chest, Elbow and Hand Balances. Front and Back Walkovers are introduced once the participants obtain the Back-bend and Recovery consistently which then prepares them for more advanced skills while applying new and interesting variations to the basics.
