Spring 2020 Story through Song (ages 14-22) 9-week session
Combine in-depth vocal training with acting techniques in this unique course exploring material from the world of musical theatre in the style of a masterclass. During the classes you will focus on the art of acting through song, combining both disciplines to give convincing and moving theatrical performances. In this fast paced intensive course, you can choose to work on one song or try different songs, and there will be so much information/feedback given throughout the 8 weeks of classes to help you grow. Our experienced instructor will help you select the best piece for your voice for the final class showcase. Each week you will be given opportunities to work on your songs in front of the group in a masterclass style. This will be a supportive, open, and friendly environment to build your confidence performing solos. This course is open to all students in 9th grade through college, and there is no audition required to join. However, in order to get the most out of the classes, some previous acting and singing experience is recommended. After the completion of this course, students will have the opportunity to audition for our tour group: Heroes, Princess and Villains, an amazing opportunity to build your resume.
