Our classical ballet classes are structured according to traditional technique. These classes are designed for young dancers looking to explore multiple genres of dance. Our ballet and tap combo classes prepare dancers in a recreational format that encourages freedom of expression with a strong emphasis on the building blocks of dance.

Dress Code
Any color leotard, any color tights, pink ballet slippers and black tap shoes. Tap ties encouraged. Boys may wear t-shirts, dance pants or shorts, and black ballet and tap shoes. Please cut ballet slipper strings to about 1” length, and tuck inside shoe when wearing. Hair pulled back.

Twinkle Toes Mon [On-line] (ages 3-5)
These classes are designed for our youngest dancers looking to express themselves through movement. Dancers will learn the building blocks of dance in a fun and creative environment. This class is especially good for those young ones who don’t care for the noise of tap shoes.

Dress Code
Any color leotard, any color tights, pink ballet slippers. Boys may wear t-shirts, dance pants or shorts, and black ballet shoes. Please cut ballet slipper strings to about 1” length, and tuck inside shoe when wearing. Hair pulled back.

Hip-Hop L2 [In-Studio] (ages 7-12)
Prerequisite for this class - one year Hip-Hop experience or instructor approval. These classes will focus on street dance styles that have evolved from hip-hop music or from the hip-hop culture. There are a wide variety of styles that are incorporated into this umbrella, primarily breaking which was created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.

Dress Code
Any fitness or dance clothes that are not overly baggy or restrictive. Dance boots, or tennis shoes.

Designed for musical theater students and for dancers looking to explore additional genres, this combo class trains dancers in tap and dance for musical theater techniques. These genres are great supplements to classical ballet and jazz training.

(Girls) Leotard or T-shirt, black dance shorts, black dance pants, or leggings.
(Guys) T-shirt, black shorts or dance pants.
(Both) Socks permitted, but must be very thin and fitted. Black jazz and tap shoes.

Our jazz dance classes incorporate classical jazz technique as influenced by Gus Giordano. This fluid style blends movements from classical ballet, modern dance, and other world forms. There will be a strong focus on isolations of the pelvis, torso, and other body parts. Additionally, dancers will work mostly in parallel.

The syllabus for these classes supplements that of the classical ballet classes, reiterating important elements that are critical for progression.

Dress Code
Level 2: Black tights, pants, leggings, or biker shorts (all over leotard – no running shorts), lavender leotard. Black jazz shoes. Hair in a clean ponytail or bun.

Pre/Beg Pointe [In-Studio] (ages 10+)
Classical pointe classes are an extension of the classical ballet classes that allow dancers to continue to refine aesthetics and strength through rigorous technique. These dancers must also be enrolled in a ballet class.

Pre/Beginning Pointe will serve as the foundation for this branch of classical ballet, preparing the dancers with strengthening exercises prior to going on pointe. Dancers will use a theraband and other exercises to prepare for the next level. Dancers who are 10 are eligible to participate in the Pre/Beginning Pointe class. Once the dancer has developed the required strength, she will go on pointe and remain in the beginning class.

Dress Code
Pre-Pointe / Beginning Pointe: Same attire as ballet class.

Contemporary L3 [In-Studio] (ages 11+)
Designed for the advanced dancer, this class supplements classical ballet and jazz technique by “breaking” the fundamental rules of these genres. This class will explore free and expressive forms of theatrical and concert dance that leverage the entire body. Note: At least one year of Level 3 ballet technique is required for Contemporary 3.

Dress Code
Level 3: Black tights, pants, leggings, or biker shorts (all over leotard – no running shorts), royal blue leotard. No shoes. Hair in a clean ponytail or bun.

Classical pointe classes are an extension of the classical ballet classes that allow dancers to continue to refine aesthetics and strength through rigorous technique. These dancers must also be enrolled in a ballet class.

Intermediate/Advanced Pointe contains technical material and is designed for the more experienced dancer. Variations and repertoire will be studied in this class. Teacher approval is required for this class. To schedule a placement, please contact Kate Grochowski, Dance Team Director and Teacher.

Our Musical Review class will have so much fun as they learn about acting, singing, and dancing on the stage while preparing a review of a Broadway musical. The review will include several scenes and songs from a Broadway show which they will perform for family and friends at the end of the semester. Our fall and spring sessions will be based on different musicals so students can join us for one session or both!

SCHEDULE: This is a 10-week class which will be held on Mondays from 12:15-1:45 pm for students ages 6-12 - starting October 5, 2020 with a final performance during class on December 14. There will be no classes the week of Thanksgiving Break.

Spring 2021 [In-Studio] Imagine It! (ages 3-5)
Our Imagine It! theater classes are for our youngest performers! Students will get to create characters and stories using props and costumes and most of all – their imaginations! Just imagine going to the moon, or visiting a castle, or trekking through the jungle. All of this is possible with a little bit of creativity! Students will also learn about using emotions and will get a taste of being on stage when they put on a performance for their family and friends at the end of the semester! Students will work on different projects each semester so that they can take one or both sessions.

SCHEDULE: This class will be held on Mondays from 2:00-2:45 pm for students ages 3-5.

Fall 2020 Technical Theater [On-line] (ages 13+)
We are excited to introduce our NEW Technical Theater class for grades 8-12! In this class students will learn how to do designs and how to carry them out in set, lighting, sound, props, costuming, and hair/make-up. Students will be working with the director of our Senior Production and will be the ones to help design and create everything needed for “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” which is a 1940’s radio hour style musical.

Classes will be a combination of online and in-studio. Online classes through Zoom will take place on Thursdays from 6:00-7:00 pm beginning the week of August 31st and going through December 17th. Some weeks we will meet on a Saturday in the studio instead of online so that we can do the building, construction, and creating together. Students will be involved on the filming day which will be Friday, December 18th.
