Our Imagine It! theater classes are for our youngest performers! Students will get to create characters and stories using props and costumes and most of all – their imaginations! Students will also learn about using emotions and will get a taste of being on stage when they put on a performance for their family and friends at the end of the semester!

This 3-day camp is designed for dancers ages 6-8. During the camp, dancers will learn upper-level beginning ballet and jazz skills accompanied by improvisation. They will learn balance and coordination while dancing to songs from The Little Mermaid, Moana, and maybe a few Beach Boys songs too! At the end of camp, there will be a Beach Day celebration that will showcase to family and friends all that they have learned!

This 3-day camp is designed to teach our young dancers beginning ballet and jazz skills accompanied by creative movement. At the end of camp, there will be a Princess Ball that will showcase to family and friends what it looks like to dance like a princess!

Come fly with us as we embrace childhood with our Peter Pan themed theater camp! We will learn scenes from the show and songs like “I Won’t Grow Up”, “Never Smile at a Crocodile”, and “We Can Fly”! Pirates, fairies, and lost boys alike are all welcome in this fun week of learning simple and safe swordplay, making crafts, and playing theater games. Camp will end on Friday with a show for family and friends Friday, June 21, at 3pm!

Our Musical Theater camp is designed for middle and high school students who want to delve deeper into performing in musical theater. Students will spend the first half of class each day learning how to sing with proper technique and how to become stronger singers. They will also be taught about harmonizing and will learn different vocal parts in some of Broadway’s biggest hits. Students will then spend the last half of each day learning how to act while they sing and learning choreography. During the last hour of camp on Friday, July 19, at 3pm, students will perform the songs we learned during the week.

Pre/Beg. Pointe (ages 10+)
Classical pointe classes are an extension of the classical ballet classes that allow dancers to continue to refine aesthetics and strength through rigorous technique. These dancers must also be enrolled in a ballet class. Pre-Pointe will serve as the foundation for this branch of classical ballet, preparing the dancers with strengthening exercises prior to going on pointe. Dancers will use a theraband and other exercises to prepare for the next level. One the dancer has developed the required strength, she will go on pointe and remain in the beginning class.

There is no experience necessary for this class. This class will focus on street dance styles that have evolved from hip-hop music or from the hip-hop culture. There are a wide variety of styles that are incorporated into this umbrella primarily breaking which was created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.

Designed for the advanced dancer, this class supplements classical ballet and jazz technique by “breaking” the fundamental rules of these genres. This class will explore free and expressive forms of theatrical and concert dance that leverage the entire body.

Esther Repertoire (Ages 7+)
Dancers enrolled in ballet at Arts Avenue are welcome to audition on August 31st to perform in the Intersection Dance Team’s production of “Esther” in late October. Total Cost for Duration of Term = $550 ($225 applied Sep 1 and $225 applied Oct 1).

Classical Ballet L4 (14yo+)
As a prerequisite, your child must have taken Classical Ballet L3 or have special permission of our dance team director. Our classical ballet classes are structured according the traditional technique. These classes follow a precise syllabus that enables dancers to progress based on the accomplishment of clearly articulated goals. Through this syllabus, dancers will develop strength, fluidity, musicality, and performance.
