Pre-Academy 1 - Section 1 - Tuesday
The purpose of the Pre-Academy program is to foster a love of ballet and cultivate the essential foundations of ballet technique. The program focuses on teaching proper posture and body alignment, musicality & rhythm, flexibility, introductory choreography and prepares students to join the academy's core program. This class performs in the Nutcracker in December. PA1 does not require an audition and students entering Kindergarten in Fall 2018 are able to register for this class. Enrollment is limited to 12 students. Students who wish to come twice a week may also register for PA 1 - Saturday, which is taught on Saturday mornings at 10 am.

This class is for students between the ages of 8-13 who would like to focus on improving their ballet technique. The class is offered Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and students can sign up to attend one, two or three times per week. Students in this class will not perform in Nutcracker. This class can be a supplemental ballet class for students in outside dance programs, a supplemental ballet class for students at GBA in levels 1A-3A, a ballet technique class for figure skaters or a "jump start" class to prepare students to enter our regular academy program. Class limited to 10 students to assure individual attention.

The Early Prep Program for children under 5 is a fun, yet disciplined introduction into the basic foundations of ballet. Children are exposed to music, rhythm and dance while beginning to acquire the posture and balance necessary for ballet. This class is for children ages 3-4 who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2020. This class will not perform in our Nutcracker in December. Enrollment is limited to 12 students. Students who wish to come four times per week may also register for PA - Section 2 which meets on Tuesday at 4:45 pm and Saturday at 10:45

Level 1A is the first year of our core program. This class meets 3x per week: Saturday 12:00-1:30 (Monique Ames), Monday 4:00-5:00 (Oksana Konobeyeva), & Wednesday 5:00-6:00 (Oksana Konobeyeva). Program focuses on basic ballet technique, proper posture & body alignment. Flexibility, turnout and strength are developed. Musicality and rhythm are taught through introductory choreography. This level will perform in the Nutcracker in December. This level does require a placement class. Enrollment limited to 12.

Level 2A is the third year of our core program. This class meets 4x per week: Saturday 10:00-1:00, Monday 4:30-6:00, Tuesday 4:00-5:30, & Thursday 5:30-7:00. Program focuses on continuing development of more advanced ballet technique, proper posture & body alignment. Flexibility, turnout and strength are developed in preparation for pointe work in Level 3A. Musicality and rhythm are taught through choreography. This level will perform multiple roles in the Nutcracker in December. Enrollment limited to 16

This level will perform in the Nutcracker in December. A placement audition is required for this level. Enrollment limited to 12.

Pas de Deux Class
The GBA Pas de Deux class will be offered on five Sundays during the Fall Semester and taught by Andrei Jouravlev. Class will be held from 1:00-4:00 and will include both a technique class and a partnering class. The dates for Fall 2018 are 9/9, 9/30, 10/14, 10/28, & 11/4. Students in Levels 5-8 are eligible to sign up for this class. Class size is limited.
