Come join the magic of the movie, Encanto, as we create dances and crafts inspired by this new Disney classic. Celebrate Christmas in July with week of Nooga Nutcracker this summer! Discovering new crafts and projects dancers will create their own advertisements, programs, costumes, props, and more. A mini version of the ballet will be performed on Friday, July 15th. Ballet dress code is consistent with our school, but dancers may wear any color leotard (for girls) or shirt (for boys).

From advertising, programs, costumes, and props, the dancers create it all! Family and friends will be delighted with mini version of Swan Lake performed on Friday June 24th. Ballet dress code is consistent with our school, but dancers may wear any color leotard (for girls) or shirt (for boys).

Modern/Jazz I
Modern and Jazz Level I is ideal for students in the first grade and second grade with no previous dance experience. Young dancers learn basic body mechanics and work to increase body awareness, flexibility, and strength in a fun and creative environment. All dancers are encouraged to also take Ballet I to complete a well-rounded dance curriculum.

Ballet V-VI
Dancers who are eligible to take Ballet V must have completed one year of Ballet IV or the equivalent. Ballet V vocabulary includes expectations in flexibility, an intermediate barre, extensions in center, pirouettes from different positions, strong allegro work, and pre-pointe preparations. Ballet V dancers are strongly encouraged to take ballet twice per week and take a modern/jazz class.
Ballet VI vocabulary includes intermediate barre work, 90 degree or higher extensions in center adagio, double pirouettes, and strong intermediate level allegro work. Ballet VI dancers who are en pointe are required to take two ballet classes per week. Modern and Jazz are also recommended to complete a well-rounded dance curriculum.

Teacher placement is required to join this class.

Dancers will warm up with complicated floor work, conditioning, and deep stretching. With impressive extensions, soaring leaps, and pre-professional quality, dancers will explore body levels, shapes, speeds, and more with intricate combinations.

Modern and Jazz II is ideal for students who have completed one year of Modern/Jazz I or for students in 3rd or 4th grade who have no previous dance experience. Dancers will begin class with a floor warm up including conditioning of the arms and core. Class will work on balance, pirouette preparations, jump mechanics, and simple combination exercises. Dancers are encouraged to also take a ballet class to complete a well-rounded dance curriculum.

Ballet VIII dancers work on advanced barre work, high extensions, pirouettes that end in open positions, multiple turn pirouettes, fouette turns, and advanced petite and grand allegro vocabulary. En pointe, Ballet VIII dancers will be preparing for partnering work and practicing single pirouettes.
At the Advanced pre-professional level, dancers are expected to have 180 degree extensions, practicing multiple pirouettes en pointe, hops en pointe, complicated batterie, and impressive grand allegro. Dancers will study classical variations and prepare for professional work.

Teacher placement is required for this level.

This intermediate level of modern and jazz is designed for students who have completed the level III Modern/Jazz class and for dancers ages 13 and up with no previous dance experience. Dancers will learn body mechanics based on Graham, Laban, and Bartenieff fundamentals, while increasing stamina, strength, and flexibility. Jazz time will include jazz walks, single pirouettes, and various leaps. Dancers are encouraged to take at least one ballet class per week to complete a well-rounded dance curriculum.

For children ages 3-5. All dancers are encouraged to also take a modern/jazz class to complete a well-rounded dance curriculum.

Expect intense conditioning and stretching in this pre-professional class. Dancers will practice turns in various positions, multiple turn pirouettes, 180 degree extensions, and an assortment of leaps. End of class combinations will push dancers to new levels!

This intermediate modern class will build on concepts learned in lower levels. Modern and Jazz III is for students who have completed one year of Modern/Jazz II or the equivalent, or for students in the 5th, 6th, and 7th grades who have no previous dance experience. Dancers will practice floor work to strengthen the core and arm muscles, practice moving effectively at different levels, and will prepare for extensions in parallel and turned out positions. Dancers will practice single pirouettes, leaps, and simple combinations at the end of class.

Dancers will begin class with a floor warm up including conditioning of the arms and core. Class will work on balance, pirouette preparations, jump mechanics, and simple combination exercises. Dancers are encouraged to also take a ballet class to complete a well-rounded dance curriculum.

Primary Dance is perfect for children in pre-K and kindergarten. In this class, dancers will play with the basics of jazz and hip hop dance elements and will strengthen their gross motor skills and explore movement in a fun, supportive environment!

Ballet VIII-Advanced (pointe)
Ballet VIII dancers work on advanced barre work, high extensions, pirouettes that end in open positions, multiple turn pirouettes, fouette turns, and advanced petite and grand allegro vocabulary. En pointe, Ballet VIII dancers will be preparing for partnering work and practicing single pirouettes.
At the Advanced pre-professional level, dancers are expected to have 180 degree extensions, practicing multiple pirouettes en pointe, hops en pointe, complicated batterie, and impressive grand allegro. Dancers will study classical variations and prepare for professional work.

Teacher placement is required for this level.
