Beginner Dance Foundations
This class if for dancers that are new to dance. This class will cover the basics of dance technique, explore the differences between different dance styles, and learn what it takes to become a dancer. Dancers will have the opportunity to be introduced to jazz, ballet, tap, acro and hip hop dance styles in addition to learning the history and culture behind each style.

Mini Foundations (Fall)
This program is ideal for those beginner dancers who are just starting dance or have already decided they love to move! While being able to express themselves in class, students will start to build a strong dance foundation in jazz, acro and hip hop styles.

Jazz/Modern Foundations 1
Jazz is a great style for an energetic dancer. Dancers will develop the necessary technique to improve coordination, rhythm, flexibility and flare! In addition to learning the moves, dancers will also explore jazz history and culture which will help the dancer to deepen their passion for jazz movement.

Hip Hop Foundations
Dancers will strengthen their groove, learn to isolate their body and develop their own personal performance style while moving to current and age-appropriate hip hop music. In addition to learning the moves, dancers will also explore hip hop history and culture which will help the dancer to deepen their passion for hip hop movement.

Ballet/Lyrical Foundations 1
Ballet works to develop the fundamentals of dance. Ballet emphasizes posture, control, strength, grace, and precision. Ballet training vastly improves a dancer's technique and bodily awareness and provides the proper foundation for all other dance styles. Ballet training is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all dancers!

Acro dance training is a method that develops strength, flexibility, stamina, and confidence in students. Our Kinder Acro dancers will be introduced to the base body movements and shapes for acro dance. Dancers will learn to safely execute forward and backward rolls, bridges, teddy bear stands, and mini cartwheels.

Our Acro instructor is a current student of Acrobatique - The Golden Standard for Acro Dance and has received hands-on training in all junior-level syllabus work.

Oil Kings Performance Opportunity
On Sunday, January 5th, the dancers of LYD, alongside the dancers from Xpressions Dance (Barrhead) will have the opportunity to perform in the Ford Hall of Rogers Place before the Oil Kings take on the Saskatoon Blades! In order to perform in this opportunity, our dancers are required to attend two in-studio rehearsals to set our choreography and practice our presentation. Oil Kings Rehearsals are scheduled for: Saturday, November 30th 10am-1pm Saturday, December 21st 10am-1pm The cost for dancers to attend the rehearsals is $40.00 and includes two tickets to the January 5th game.

Our Acro instructor is a current student of Acrobatique - The Golden Standard for Acro Dance and has received hands-on training in all junior-level syllabus work. This class is perfect for Home Schooling Students or students that have day time availability.
