Kinder Dance A
Kinder Dance Programs explore base dance movement for children ages 5-7 years. In this class, we will explore body positions and movements based in ballet, jazz, hip hop and tap. Dancers will be introduced to rhythm, balance, stretch and creative movement through the use of games and dance activities. This program is ideal for those beginner dancers who are just starting dance or have already decided they love to move! While being able to express themselves in class, students will start to build a strong dance foundation while meeting new friends.

Acro 1A
Acro dance training is a method that develops strength, flexibility, stamina, and confidence in students. Dancers in this class will work on the Junior 1 syllabus foundations of acro dance as outlined in the ADTA syllabus, including, forward/backward rolls, bridges, handstands, cartwheels, and headstands.

Our Acro instructor is a current student of Acrobatique - The Golden Standard for Acro Dance and has received hands-on training in all junior-level syllabus work.

Acro 1 is a pre-requisite to Acro 2 and takes dancers an average of 2 years to master the work.

Beginner Dance A
Beginner Dance Foundations introduces the dancer to the dance process. This class covers broad dance related topics, while utilizing base foundational technique and practices to start developing the dancer. Dancers will be introduced to Ballet, Jazz and Acro dance techniques, explore the different ways to move the body, and discuss general dance concepts such as rhythm, timing, stage directions, isolation, and groove.

This program is a prerequisite for all dancers coming into LYD aged 8-12.
This program must be completed by all returning dancers that have reached the age of 8.

Tap 2A
Make music with your feet! Students will work on strengthening their coordination, rhythm and musicality. Students will explore tap history, create new music and develop a passion for tap dance!

Tap 2 Dancers will focus on Junior 2 and 3 ADAPT Syllabus work

Hip Hop 2B
Hip Hop Dancers will strengthen their groove, learn to isolate their body and develop their own personal performance style while moving to current and age-appropriate hip hop music. In addition to learning the moves, dancers will also explore hip hop history and culture which will help the dancer to deepen their passion for hip hop movement.

Modern 1A
Modern dance is often considered to have emerged as a rejection of or rebellion against, classical ballet and develops a connection with space and parallel movement. Modern dancers will explore the body shapes and transitions utilized in modern dance while developing the use of parallel, contraction, sway, spring and rolls.

Jazz 3A
Jazz is a great style for an energetic dancer. Dancers will develop the necessary technique to improve coordination, rhythm, flexibility and flare! In addition to learning the moves, dancers will also explore jazz history and culture which will help the dancer to deepen their passion for jazz movement.

Jazz 3 Dancers will focus on Pre-Intermediate 1 ADAPT Syllabus work

Kinder Acro Programs explore base acrobatic positions, movement, and acrobatic development for children ages 5-7 years. In this class, we will explore the acro-dance body positions, get introduced to tumbling (forward and backward rolls), strengthen our balance (teddy bear stands and handstands) and develop our confidence as young movers. This program is ideal for those beginner dancers who are just starting dance or have already decided they love to move! While being able to express themselves in class, students will start to build a strong acro-dance foundation while meeting new friends.

Our Acro instructor is a current student of Acrobatique - The Golden Standard for Acro Dance and has received hands-on training in all junior-level syllabus work.

Acro 1 is a prerequisite to Acro 2.

Acro 2 is a prerequisite to Acro 3 and takes dancers an average of 1-2 years to master the work.

Ballet 2A
Ballet works to develop the fundamentals of dance. Ballet emphasizes posture, control, strength, grace, and precision. Ballet training vastly improves a dancer's technique and bodily awareness and provides the proper foundation for all other dance styles. Ballet training is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all dancers!

Ballet 2 dancers will focus on ADAPT Level 1 Ballet Syllabus.

Adult Dance B
New and experienced dancers over the age of 18 are welcome to come and explore the foundations of dance movement. This class is meant to get dancers sweating and having fun while they dance their way across the floor, focusing on jazz, variety, hip-hop and conditioning movements.
