Performance Line - Sparkles Level 2 2nd/3rd Grade
Ages: 2nd/3rd Grade. Our Sparkles performance line classes build on the curriculum of our Gems with increased class time. The increased class time allows our instructors to spend additional time introducing and focusing on age-appropriate skills. Every form of dance has leaps, kicks, and/or turns and this class increases the time spent refining such skills. Students train in technique both at the barre and center floor and have an increased opportunity to practice across the floor skills. Combinations with more difficult rhythms and weight transitions are presented and practiced while encouraging artistic exploration.

Sparkles will perform in our winter performance and our annual Spring Recital plus two dances at one competition at the recreational level. No try-outs are required.

Performance Line - Gems Level 1 K/1st Grade

In tap, our Gems work on tap skills and rhythmic exercises to advance their knowledge of tap terminology while gaining a sense of rhythm & timing and discovering isolation. Barre, center, and across the floor exercises help increase speed, style, and clarity in their sounds. In jazz, dancers warm-up at the center floor and progress in the stylistic movements of jazz with across-the-floor combinations. Along with rhythm, musicality, and presentation dancers gain awareness of correct body placement, technique, and flexibility. Ballet is the foundation for all other disciplines of dance. In ballet, students learn control, strength, poise, coordination, flexibility, expression, technique, terminology, and grace. Ballet is not only for the body; it also exercises the mind. Our performance lines are the perfect introduction to the discipline of ballet in a more structured setting.
