N&B Power Tumbling Team
Take your tumbling, Trampoline Skills, and Double Mini Skills to the next level. Develop strong tumbling technique, while learning character, diligence, and teamwork! Compete at the local level to State! These Gymnasts have the opportunity to compete in the following three events listed below. Gymnasts may choose one or all three events to compete in. We would love to have you on our Power Tumbling Team!

Power Tumbling:

Power tumbling is performed on elevated spring runways that help tumblers propel themselves higher than a basketball goal as they demonstrate speed, strength and skill while executing a series of acrobatic maneuvers. Top-level contenders will perform explosive somersaults with multiple flips and twists. We coach ALL levels of floor routines at N&B with SUTA’s (Southern Utah Tumbling Associations head floor judge). This gives N&B power tumblers to ability to have up to date instruction and competition rules and information on demand!
2) Trampoline:
Although even in the early years of trampolining, notable American and international athletes performed many of the difficult skills and combinations of skills that are seen today, modern trampoline competitions are quite different those of the early developmental years -- due in part to advances in equipment design, changes in the rules and governance, and more systematic training of the athletes. Today at our SUTA Gym Meets, a series of trampoline skills are connected in a series to be judged.

3) Double Mini-Trampoline
N&B is the only gym in Sevier County with a DOUBLE MINI! Double mini is a relatively new sport that combines the horizontal run of tumbling with the vertical rebound of trampoline. After a short run, the athlete jumps onto a small two-level trampoline to perform a rebounding trick immediately followed by a dismount element onto a landing mat. Double mini is similar in concept to springboard diving, using a mat instead of water. Multiple ages and levels of the double mini are coached at N&B. This is a very fun piece of equipment bringing additional opportunities to our power tumblers in house and at our SUTA gym meets.

Meets: Gymnasts compete in three meets per year. Two invitationals and one state meet. Gymnasts must compete in two invitationals to qualify for state.
**Attire: fitted tumbling attire for class. A Matching Team Leotard and warm-ups for meets. White socks for the double mini at gym meets.

N&B 2/3 yr. old Dancers Jazz/Ballet
Creative movement classes are best suited for young dancers just starting out. This is a ballet/jazz based class and many of our 2 year olds and young 3’s find this class perfect for their pace. Here they will learn about musicality and movement skills. Creative movement is learning skipping, hopping, or clapping to the beat of music. We enhance their imagination by introducing imagery or “make believe”. With imagery we can become dancing clowns or fairies or of coarse a ballerina. Props are a great way we introduce the use of more motor skills-and the children love it. We use magic wands, beach balls, hula-hoops, rhythm sticks, flowers-the list is endless. These Toddlers will also learn a dance routine! This class is a wonderful introduction to dance!
In addition, your student will start learning:
1.How to follow directions.
2.To share with other kids.
3. Be independent.
4. How to take turns.
5. Have confidence.
Competition Opportunities: Richfield Competition in March and Production number.
Performances: Spring Concert in May and the 4the of July float in costume!
Shoes: Split sole pink ballet shoes. (We do carry these in the N&B Dance store)
**Attire: Hair pulled back, dance shoes, fitted dance attire. Leotard and tights prefered. ( color is optional, no street clothes)

N&B 4/5 yr. old Jazz/Ballet
Since 1979, beginners have been one of our specialties! We have developed a top notch curriculum for this age group keeping in mind that dancers this age need the class to keep moving and to have fun while learning. The focus in all of our age 4-5-year-old classes is placed on early physical and social development, working on developing and refining gross motor skills and coordination. Flexibility and coordination skills are focused on. Dance counts are introduced along with all basic dance steps such as posse’, releve’, sauche’s, pirouettes, chaine’s, and ballet positions for the arms and feet! The class is structured to reinforce social skills such as taking turns and cooperating with others in a group setting. Students will learn a dance routine and have the opportunity to participate in our Studio Production Number. In fact, we do so well with students in our renowned Early Childhood Program, all of our dancers, even the 3-year-olds, perform on stage in the spring concert! These dancers also have the opportunity to compete in the Richfield Dance Competition in March if they desire to do so:)
