ACRO CLASS.
Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. It is a popular dance style in amateur competitive dance as well as in professional dance theater and in contemporary circus productions such as those by Cirque du Soleil. This is in contrast to acrobatic, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, which are sports that employ dance elements in a gymnastics context under the auspices of a governing gymnastics organization and subject to a Code of Points. Acro dance is known by various other names including acrobatic dance and gymnastic dance, though it is most commonly referred to simply as acro by dancers and dance professionals.

This is a performing class.
Includes two costumes for spring recital.

PRE-POINTE/POINTE.
This is a technique class for pointe 1 students. To be in the variations class you must be in the technique class.
Our ballet program equips today's young dancers with artistry and athleticism necessary for today's dance world. While still maintaining the classical tradition of dance as an art form, the comprehensive training program at TDA offers students the opportunity to explore intellectually, artistically, and creatively while following a time-tested curriculum based on sound physical principles. We are committed to preparing all of our dancers with skills and motivation to achieve whatever level of success they choose. Our ballet classes include elements from some of the well-regarded methods such as Vaganova and Cecchetti.

As one of the most precise forms of dance, pointe work gives the illusion that a dancer is lighter than air. Dancing on the tips of one's toes, however, requires many years of dedicated ballet study, excellent physical health, and teacher recommendation. Dancers at TDA must already be enrolled in ballet and demonstrate appropriate technical proficiency, physical strength, and dedication before being considered for pointe prep. We are proud to be THE ONLY studio to offer a pre-pointe class along with a pointe readiness assessment. 11+

In order to be in pointe/pre-pointe classes, dancers will need a graded ballet class and we highly recommend dancers to be in multiple pointe/pre-pointe classes to get the most out of it.

ACRO STARZ COMPETITION.

Must attend summer classes.
