Have you taken a little ballet, and are ready to do more? Did you take ballet years ago and want to get back into it? We prioritize a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment, and our instructors are caring and experienced professionals who joyfully welcome people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. Monday Beginning-Intermediate Ballet is geared towards continuing students, people with some prior ballet experience, or students seeking a faster-paced challenge. Classes are taught with an emphasis on accumulative learning, and steps are broken down clearly and logically for students to progress with confidence.

Advanced Intensive Week 1 (13-19 yrs)
Advanced Intensive: For the advanced dance student age 13 and up (Dance Fremont levels 5 and 6; contact info@dancefremont.com if not sure of level)

Prepare to take your dancing to the next level! This immersive intensive for aspiring dancers will enhance their technique, artistry, and musicality while allowing them to explore their full potential. Week 1 will focus on dance technique (including ballet, pointe, and contemporary), conditioning, and cross-training methods to be a strong, healthy dancer. Week 2 will focus on repertory, from classical ballet to modern to variations from Dance Fremont's Steadfast Tin Soldier.
 
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of current dance training, or attainment of an intermediate/advanced level of ballet technique. Inquire with Dance Fremont if unsure of level.

Suitable for Dance Fremont current levels 5 and 6, and level 4 with permission of director and additional recommended summer study.

In this week-long camp, students will be introduced to famous story ballets such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and more! Listening to the beautiful original music from these ballets will help us add some DRAMA to our dancing! Students will develop their dance skills through embodying these famous works, playing, crafting, and storytelling. The week will culminate in a performance for friends and family.

Springboard Into Fall, Advanced
BALLET, POINTE and CONDITIONING

The Springboard into Fall will prepare advanced students to hit the ground dancing at full strength by the start of the school year! Ballet will build strength while focusing on the fundamentals of ballet technique and placement, with special attention to safe jumping mechanics. The pointe and conditioning class will focus on the lower limb strength and articulation, and will integrate other essential conditioning exercises. This class series will not only set your dancer up for their healthiest start to the school year, but will also provide them with a conditioning practice that will serve their dancing well all year long.

In Preparatory Dance students are encouraged to be creative in class as they learn more ballet terms and technique. Children continue to develop the introductory concepts of ballet and modern dance technique that they learned in Primary Dance. Increased levels of concentration, introductory composition, group work, and cognitive development are emphasized.

Please note: students must be seven at the beginning of the school year to register for Preparatory Dance.

Composition is an important skill that develops students' creativity, critical and artistic eye, and dance technique, and is a fun way to express oneself! This class will explore the building blocks of creating and developing dance phrases; develop short solos that the dancers have the option of performing in the Spring Repertory Workshop; and culminate in a group work choreographed by the class that is performed at the end of the year in the Rite of Spring.

Graduating seniors enrolled in Composition also have the opportunity to choreograph a senior piece for performance in Rite of Spring.

Ballet 1B is for 2nd year Ballet 1 students, or new students with prior ballet experience (contact info@dancefremont.com). Ballet students continue to develop the basic ballet concepts and vocabulary, spend time at the barre learning to build sequences of movement, and learn to use dancing as a means of creative expression. Repetitions of the exercises help build muscle memory and refine the lines of the body. Studying modern dance technique to expand one's movement capabilities and build mental and physical stamina is strongly encouraged.

Modern dance technique adds layers to a dancer's quality of movement and is strongly encouraged. Modern students continue to develop the basic modern dance concepts, focusing on the use of body weight in movement, lowering into and pushing out from the floor, and building longer phrases of movement together. Repetitions of the exercises help build muscle memory and refine the lines of the body. Modern dance develops creative thinking and memory skills.

PRICING NOTE: This class is priced as an add-on to Ballet I. If registering for Modern I only, and not enrolling in Ballet I, the cost of the class is $98.

Ballet 1A is for first-year ballet students. Ballet students begin to develop the basic ballet concepts and vocabulary, spend time at the barre learning to build sequences of movement, and learn to use dancing as a means to creative expression. Repetitions of the exercises help build muscle memory, strength, balance, and refine the lines of the body. Studying modern dance technique in Friday's Modern 1 class to add layers to the quality of movement is strongly encouraged.

This class is intended to build the foundations for successful pointe work. Dancers will work on building strength and improving alignment, as well as learning about working with and in pointe shoes. Dancers will not necessarily start pointe work just because they are registered for this class, but they will be considered for the opportunity to start working en pointe as they individually are ready. To be eligible for consideration of starting pointe work, dancers must be taking 3 ballet classes/week from the beginning of the school year.

Adult Beginning-Intermediate Ballet
This is a beginning-intermediate level ballet class for people who are interested in exploring the basics of ballet technique in an encouraging environment with professionally trained instructors. Monday Beginning-Intermediate Ballet is geared towards continuing students, people with a little prior dance experience, or students seeking a faster-paced challenge. Classes are taught with an emphasis on accumulative learning, and steps are broken down clearly and logically for students to progress with confidence.

To keep your teachers and fellow dancers safe, please stay home if you are sick or have had recent exposure to COVID-19. Notify your instructor ahead of time and you may have the option to join the class via zoom room 1.

This will be an ongoing class for the school year (36 weeks) however students may join the class mid-year; please contact Dance Fremont for more information. Please note: pricing for this class reflects the holiday studio closures occurring on Mondays throughout the year.

Adult Beginning Modern
This is a class for people with little or no dance experience who are looking to explore new ways of moving their body and expressing themselves. Trying new things is hard, so we prioritize a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment where you can let go and explore! Through the fundamentals of modern dance technique, from movement patterns on the floor, to traveling boldly through space, class will build your strength, fluidity, balance, coordination, and awareness. You will experience the joy and power of dancing and explore your creative ability by making expressive choices about how you move your body. Have you always wanted to try ballet, but something kept you back? Did you take ballet when you were a kid and have spent years meaning to get back into it? We joyfully welcome people of all ages, shapes, and sizes to discover or rediscover how fun and fulfilling ballet can be! Trying new things is hard, so we prioritize a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment, and our instructors are caring and experienced. This class is geared towards students completely new to dance, or students desiring a slower, more methodical approach.
