Studying modern dance technique to add layers to the quality of movement is strongly encouraged. Modern students continue to develop the basic modern dance concepts, focusing on the use of body weight in movement, lowering into and pushing out from the floor, and building longer phrases of movement together. This class is billed at $50/month as an add-on to Ballet I A or I B. If your child wishes to only take Modern I, without ballet, the class rate is $84/month.

The Steadfast Tin Soldier Participation
READ BEFORE REGISTERING: https://dancefremont.com/steadfast-tin-soldier-auditions/ Dance Fremont students in levels Preparatory II and up are invited to audition for The Steadfast Tin Soldier, A Story Ballet on Saturday, September 21st, 2019. This delightful performance opportunity is a treasured experience for generations of Dance Fremont students, and we highly encourage students to participate. However, dancers and their families should consider the time commitment carefully ahead of time. The 2019/20 Performer Packet will be finalized after the audition, and we will not have information about the schedule for specific levels until after the audition and casting have been completed. Until then, prospective dancers and their families can read the 2018-19 packet on dancefremont.com for an indication of the typical schedule and commitment required.

Adult Beginning Ballet
This is a beginning level ballet class for people who are interested in exploring the basics of ballet technique in an encouraging environment with professionally trained instructors. Beginning Ballet is geared towards students completely new to dance, or students desiring a slower, more methodical approach. Classes are taught with an emphasis on accumulative learning and steps are broken down clearly and logically for students to progress with confidence.

Adult High Beginning Ballet
This is a beginning level ballet class for people who are interested in exploring the basics of ballet technique in an encouraging environment with professionally trained instructors. Monday High Beginning Ballet is geared towards continuing students, people with a little prior dance experience, or students seeking a faster-paced challenge. Classes are taught with an emphasis on learning and steps are broken down clearly and logically. This will be an ongoing class for the school year.

The second half of the class in center will include more basic pointework with eleve, releve, and piques onto pointe both on two legs and on one. An emphasis will be placed on descending from pointe with control and balance, correct alignment and movement mechanics. This will be an ongoing class for the school year (36 weeks); however, students may register during the school year by permission of the instructor. This intermediate level pointe class is geared towards students who have had at least one consecutive year of experience en pointe and is subject to instructor approval. Students must attend the 10:00-11:30 a.m. Open Intermediate/Advanced Ballet Class prior to the pointe class (no exceptions).
