*Creative Dance, ages 3 - 6, Monday 6:00 - 6:45, begins Sept. 9th, 2019
Creative Dance is structured upon classical ballet principals and taught in a way that little ones understand. Dancers will have fun moving to music and exploring what their little bodies are capable of. We perform exercises to develop coordination, flexibility and strength; all while dressing up, using imaginative props, and having fun! This is a 45 minute class.
NOTE: If you are deciding between Giggles and Wiggles and Creative Dance, know that Giggles and Wiggles students are generally given more time to complete activities, while Creative Dance students are usually able to perform activities without too much delay.
A note regarding beginning classes after the session has already begun: While we do allow dancers to join after classes have begun, we make sure parents understand that their child is not starting the first day of class, and that we can't slow the class down to teach new dancers from the very beginning. Most children often do quite well anyway, as they are able to watch the group and follow along. The class is full of fun and creativity, but the children are taught consequences as part of following instructions. For example, in order to get to wear fairy wings, they must listen to instructions such as "Stand on your pink shape and I will bring you wings". In order to leap over unicorns, they must be able to respond to instructions such as "Everyone run and jete". Occasionally some children do not respond to instructions, so they miss out on the fun. The consequence of missing out usually motivates them to participate the next turn. We want to be clear to parents that simple consequences are part of learning, so expect this as part of a fun ballet class! We have wings, tutus, wands, streamers, and many other fun things to help motivate little ones to follow instructions…:)
If you feel that you or your child is not ready for this learning process, it is best to wait until they are older.

**Giggles and Wiggles, ages 2.5 - 5, Wednesday 10:30 - 11:00 (Non-Performing), begins Sept. 5th, 2019
Giggles & Wiggles is a very fun class that introduces your child to the beauty and grace of ballet. Our instructors like to have some silly fun with the littles while at the same time teaching structure. Little ones learn how to take turns, follow the leader, form a circle or a line, and work with peers. We engage the child's creative imaginations with energetic music, while focusing on the fundamentals of ballet movement. We use tutus, wings and many other props to stimulate the imaginations of our little ones! Parents watch class from our "Magic Mirrors" (one way glass) so the children may dance without distraction. This class is a non performing class, for littles not quite ready to memorize choreography, or for families who want ballet training, but not yet a performance.
Tuition is non-refundable, so we like parents to make certain children are willing to go in to the studio without a parent before enrolling. If you would like to try a drop in class to discover how well they are able to do so, inquire with the office to see if this is possible. Class availability depends upon the time of year and current class schedule.

Creative Dance 2 continues to build upon the activities and skills learned in Creative Dance. This is for children ages 4 - 6. Children should be able to go to a shape on the floor, form a circle, follow the leader, hold hands, etc. This is a 45 minute class.

Dancers will have fun moving to music and exploring what their little bodies are capable of. We perform exercises to develop coordination, flexibility and strength; all while dressing up, using imaginative props, and having fun!
We engage the child's creative imaginations with energetic music, while focusing on the fundamentals of ballet movement. We use tutus, wings and many other props to stimulate the imaginations of our little ones! Parents watch class from our "Magic Mirrors" (one way glass) so the children may dance without distraction.

**Giggles & Wiggles, ages 2.5 - 5, Thursday 11:15 - 11:45 (Non-performing)
