IDS Covid-19 Safety Procedures:
These guidelines should provide a mental picture of what it will be like returning to the facility from entrance to exit.
Staff will be stationed at the doors checking temperatures with a no-contact thermometer and sending students to class. Students with a temperature at or above 100.4 will not be allowed to enter. If preferred, dancers may be accompanied by one adult.
Adults entering the studio are required to wear a mask. Students are welcome, but not required, to wear a mask during class.
For the time being, we will not permit parents to remain in the lobby. This is to help increase the social distancing capability for IDS students and instructors in the lobby between classes.
Upon entering IDS, all students and parents will be asked to use the provided hand sanitizers.
It is our goal to keep students safe and socially distant, while not making them feel uncomfortable, stressed, or anxious. We will designate each dancer an area with brightly colored tape, hula hoops, or other fun props.
Instruction will be conducted using primarily verbal commands vs hands-on correction or spotting techniques.
Instructors will be required to wear masks in the lobby, and in times that it may be necessary to come within 6 feet of a student.
At the end of class, dancers will be provided hand sanitizer and asked to remain seated in either the classroom or marked spots in the lobby. They will remain socially distanced and called to the door to exit when a parent or guardian arrives.
We encourage dancers to bring a water bottle in their dance bag. We will not permit drinks from fast food restaurants in the dance rooms. They are too easily spilled or accidentally shared.
Surfaces in the dance rooms will be sprayed and wiped down between each age group and the entire studio sanitized and wiped down at the end of each day.
Each age group will remain in the same room for all classes, with the instructors moving from room to room
If a student is not feeling well, please do not bring them to the studio.
We will communicate via email regarding any and all changes throughout the dance year, so be sure we have a current email address on file. You can update this in your parent portal.
