Student Handbook
Studio Policies
Please note the following guidelines regarding all classes:
1. We require that students carefully observe our dress code outlines in our handbook.
2. Any student arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted to class. For your safety and to receive full benefit from your class, please arrange for a make-up class if you expect to be very late.
3. All students are encouraged not to leave the room once class has begun. Please allow for appropriate restroom use prior to class. Very young children will be treated sensitively as the need arises. Preschool children may need a parent's attention from time to time for various reasons including bathroom or behavior issues. Please do not leave the waiting area when very young children are in class without informing the instructor. We make every effort to have all children feel safe and cared for in a loving and inspiring learning environment.
5. School age children and teens: Please practice respect. Students are not to be socializing in a disruptive manner during the class with other students. Please honor your teacher and fellow students by giving full attention and co-operation. You will be advised in we feel any student is not well adjusted to the classroom environment for any reason over time.
6. During class if a student complains of being ill, or sustains an injury and cannot participate, the instructor will have them sit for a few mins to see if they feel better. Parents will be notified by the instructor if their dancer was not feeling well.
7. Only students with a pre-existing sickness/injury are allowed to observe class. The parents must notify the director if a student is to observe class. No guests please.
8. No one else is allowed to sit and watch during regular class time.
9. Our instructors usually have a class immediately following your particular class. Parents must come to the classroom to pick up their dancer. If a parent is late more than 10 mins their account will be charged $1 per min late pick up fee. Dancers will be waiting for late parents in the next class. If a parent is more than 30 mins late with no contact (not answering their phone when we call). We may call DCF to report an abandonment charge. Instructors are not allowed to transport dancers to and from class.
Dance class is education and fun, however, an important part of class work is developing an attitude of discipline and respect for teachers and fellow students. We trust that following our classroom etiquette will provide an environment whereby classes at All-Star Dance Company will be a pleasure for all concerned.

Class Cancelation Policy
During the course of the season we may encounter a time where we will need to cancel a class.
If we cancel class due to the fault of ASDC we will either offer a make-up class or credit your account for the missed class. This includes if an instructor suddenly becomes ill, has a personal emergency, etc and we are not able to cover the class.
If we have to cancel class due to a situation out of ASDC’s control such as bad weather where it would be dangerous for our instructors and students to travel to the studio. As well as other uncontrollable issues. We will not offer a make-up class or credit your account. However your child can attend a make-up class during any of our other classes on their age/skill level.
