The following are considered “excused†absences:
• Death in the family
• Scheduled school programs or performances required for credit
• Wedding or religious dedication of you or a member of your immediate family
• If you are contagiously ill (fever, flu, contagious illness requiring antibiotics such as strep throat, head lice, etc.)
Dancers should attend/watch class in the case of injury or mild illness (i.e. common cold without fever). _____ (INITIALS)
Punctuality is just as important as attendance - please be on time and prepared for class. Three occurrences of tardiness will count as an unexcused absence. Students should not miss more than six (6) of any one class per dance season, after which the dancer may not be allowed to perform or may be dismissed from the team and/or studio. Dance requires consistent ongoing training, and dancers who excessively miss classes will not be able to perform at the same level and with the same confidence as those who have attended all classes regularly_____ (INITIALS)
Makeup classes are available for absences due to illness or other personal reasons during regularly scheduled classes, but it is your responsibility to arrange for this. A makeup class schedule will be communicated if WFDS closes unexpectedly due to a holiday, inclement weather, or other unforeseen events. Withdrawal from any competitive team during the year requires a written notice to WFDS 30 days prior to withdrawal (emailed to wyldfiredance@gmail.com), and tuition is due for these 30 days following receipt of the notice. Tuition for the year can be paid in full with a 10% discount or monthly with monthly tuition shown below. Company dancers will not be added to teams after the season has begun. A $35 registration fee applies for new students and annually for existing students. The $35 fee is per family, not per dancer. Your dancer's spot in class will not be secured until registration fee and August tuition are received. Performance packages for Hot Shots Dance Company are specifically outlined in the Commmitment Contract and include costume, competition entry fees and year-end showcase performance fees. Additional fees may be required for Dance Dynamix, Toe Tapperz, and AcroDance costumes. This will be divided up over 5 months and added to monthly tuition. Please review the full list of policies above and refer back to your Hot Shots Dance Company contract for a complete listing of policies and expectations. The WFDS competition teams meet 3 days weekly for 25 minutes to 60 minutes per class. Dance Company classes will consist of ballet, jazz, tap, additional technique, acrobatics, hip-hop, and/or advanced ballet PLUS choreography. Each team will learn 2-4 competition routines, largely dependent upon how quickly a routine is learned, cleaned, and how often dancers rehearse at home. Possible competitions we may attend are Dance Fierce in Burley, the Canyon Rim Dance Classic (Dancers Fight Cancer) in Twin Falls, all in April, and America On Stage at the Lagoon amusement park in Utah in May. Competitions may be added or deleted at the discretion of WFDS. If competitions are changed, additional entry fees may apply. Further information will be provided as it becomes available. There is a $300 Dropout Fee if a dancer fails to complete their full season commitment.
