DEE STREET DANCE. Terms & conditions.
Whether you’re participating in classes, courses, workshops, retreats, events or performances, we really want you to get the most out of your Dee Street experience. It is essential that you read and understand the following points to make sure we’re all on the same page before we begin our dance journey together. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
What to wear and bring.
Comfortable clothes that you can move freely in, and comfy shoes (sneakers / street shoes are fine). Please note that some studios we use don’t allow footwear on their floors. At these venues, you will be required to dance barefoot. At all other studios you can choose to dance in shoes or bare feet, up to you. Bring water to stay hydrated!
Photos and videos
Our teachers and some students occasionally take photos and videos during class. We may use images and/or footage from classes and of students on our website or in other promotional materials, and we often post photos and/or videos to Facebook and Instagram and other social media platforms.
If you don’t feel comfortable with the possibility of your image making its way into the public forum and the internet, please let your teacher know at the start of the course and class and make sure you opt out of any photos or video filming. If you don’t tell us, we won’t know you’re not ok with us photographing you.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
You agree that you are attending Dee Street classes as a student, and will not replicate any of the material or use it to teach classes.
Your Dee Street enrolment is not confirmed until payment has been made. Full payment is required before the course begins.
Dee Street courses run for a number of consecutive weeks, and is carefully designed that way so that you get the most out of your course. Once you’re booked in that place is taken. If you cannot attend a class, we cannot fill your place. Although we have healthy-sized waiting lists, due to the nature of the dance course we cannot transfer places mid-way through a course.
Missed classes
Missed classes are non-refundable and cannot be credited to your Dee Street account.
We encourage you to complete all sessions of your course as they are designed to progress week after week. However, we understand life happens, so we have a couple of things in place to make it easier for you to stay on track with the material and get the most out of your course.
Make up classes
We offer two make up classes per 9 week course. A missed class is made up in the same week at another venue within the same level (i.e. beginner in another beginner’s course class, intermediate in another intermediate course class).
These will be allocated to you within our booking management system. Please let the teacher of your make up class know you are making up the class at the start of the make up class.
Practice vids
We also offer free practice videos of your class choreography, which are updated each week, so you can catch up on what you missed while you were away. Practice videos will be uploaded weekly and, in most cases, available to view straight after your class or the next day. Videos are accessible only through the Dee Street website/ class management system. You will receive information on how to access the videos and your module's playlist after your first class.
