TUITION
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month and is not prorated. Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable. A $10 Late Fee will be assessed if payment is not received by the 5th of the month. One regular weekly class = $55/month. Classes longer than 1 hour will be billed at a higher rate. Additional Classes are discounted. Families with two or more children qualify for a "Family Unlimited Rate", which caps the tuition when there are six or more classes being taken (combined). Competitive Dancers qualify for our "Unlimited Classes" capped rate.
COSTUMES
We DO NOT charge a costume fee. All of our dancers are provided with a costume to wear for performances. Dancers must supply their own shoes and tights in accordance with the list of required attire for each class. On rare occasions, dancers may be required to purchase a small accessory or undergarment that may be needed with the costume, but this is rare.
Showcase Commitment Fee
All Dancers are required to perform in December (date TBD) as well as the end-of-year Spring Showcase, which is in early June. The Showcase Commitment Fee is $85/per class (of which, a $10 deposit is paid at registration and the remaining $75 is due by October 1st.) If received after October 15th, there is a $15 late fee. If joining after October 1st the full $85 will be due. This fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and non-transferable and is viewed as your commitment to participation for the entire season, which ends with the Spring Showcase in June. Dancers with outstanding fees will not be included in the performances and may be removed from the class roster to make space for students on the waiting list. If a dancer drops from a class prior to the Spring Showcase for any reason, NO REFUND will be issued.
PERFORMANCE TICKETS
Parents, Friends, & Family of our students are all welcome to come see them perform in December and then again in the Spring Showcase in early June. Tickets are available in your Dance Portal and usually go on sale 2-3 months prior to all performances via a link on the studio's website and facebook page. All tickets are sold online. There are no tickets sold in person.
Dress Rehearsal (which is MANDATORY and closed to spectators) will be held at the theater the day before performances. All Student Accounts MUST be settled in order to participate. Failure to attend dress rehearsal will prevent a dancer from performing, and without refund.
Attendance
Dancers must attend class during the two week period prior to any performance. The studio director reserves the right to remove any student from a performance (without refund) due to behavior, failure to attend required rehearsals, or dancer's inability to perform the dance choreography due to poor class attendance or otherwise.
Conduct
Students are expected to wear the required attire for each class. Students who come to class without the required attire may be allowed to participate one time, but not allowed to continually disrespect the studio's dress code. Dancers should arrive a few minutes prior to the class start time, with hair already pulled back in the required fashion. Dancers should be waiting outside the class door, ready when the door opens. Do not bring food or drink into the studio rooms (water bottles are allowed). MOBILE PHONES and ELECTRONIC DEVICES are PROHIBITED in the dance rooms. Lockers are available to store your personal items during class time (bring your own lock). Do not leave personal items overnight in a locker without permission from the studio director. Expressions' competitive dancers have first priority to use a locker on a regular basis since they typically spend more time at the studio. The studio and faculty is NOT RESPONSIBLE for lost or stolen property.
NSF Fees
Checks returned for NSF will accrue a $25 Returned Check Fee.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
We DO take credit cards via your online account. Please be sure to pay tuition by the 5th of each month to avoid the $10 Late Fee. We do NOT accept payment at the reception counter. All payments are to be made online or by check payable to the studio.
PARENT PORTAL
There is a place in your dance account where you may upload a picture of your child (if desired). This helps our instructors to quickly learn each student's name. Our instructors will take attendance for each class and you are able to see your child's attendance/tardy notes.. If you change your contact information, please update your account. In the event of an emergency, we will call the phone number listed in your account.
CLASS MUSIC
Our students like to practice at home! We are excited to have the best technology in the dance industry, which includes being able to play the class music from the parent portal. When the class music is selected, it will be uploaded into your dance account. Please assist your child with listening to his/her music, since they are logged into your account.
COMPETITIVE DANCE COMPANY
Some of our dancers are at a competitive level and have auditioned to be accepted onto a team(s). These students pay the same tuition rate as our recreational dancers. In addition to tuition, company dancers pay a one-time non-refundable team fee for each team they are on (which includes competition entry fees, costumes, etc.). Team fees range from $200 - $395 (depending on age and how many competitions each team will attend). Because most of the dance competitions are right here in Florida (Tampa, Lakeland, and occasionally in Orlando or Daytona) there is not normally an expense for traveling. However, any cost for hotels, meals away from home, etc. are at the dancers' expense. Shoes and tights are also the dancers' expense.
PHOTOS & VIDEOS ARE PROHIBITED
Photography and Video during Classes at the studio and during Stage Performances is strictly prohibited. Students and/or Parents may not bring Mobile Phones and/or Electronic Devices into the Dance Rooms. The studio's Productions and performances will be recorded by a professional videographer. Dancers may purchase a Video of the performance directly from the videographer. The studio does not profit or make any money from the sale of Performance Videos. You are giving permission for you and/or your minor child to be captured on video and/or pictures. Such video/pictures are the intellectual property of Expressions Dance Academy Inc., dba Expressions Academy of Dance. You waive any rights to compensation and restriction of use.
Annual Yearbook
Each student will be featured in our annual dance yearbook. Class/group and candid pictures may be included. Each student will be billed for a yearbook.
LOST ITEMS
The studio is not responsible for lost items. We have 60+ lockers available to store your personal items. You must bring your own lock in order to use a locker. Do not leave your lock on a locker overnight unless you are a competitive company dancer who attends class at least 4 days per week. There are plenty of lockers available for recreational level dancers. Lockers are on a help yourself, first come, first served basis.
TUITION & REGISTRATION FEES
Our regular Weekly classes are $55/ month.
We offer a MULTI-CLASS DISCOUNT (applies to all family members)
Example: If one dancer is taking two regular weekly classes (2 hours per week), the tuition would be the same as two siblings each taking one weekly class. We calculate tuition based on the total number of classes being taken by all family members.
Tuition is Non-Refundable, Non-Transferable, and Not Prorated.
Tuition will automatically be calculated in the student's account.
There is a $50 Annual Registration Fee ($75 Family Registration Fee).
We offer UNLIMITED CLASSES & CAPPED TUITION to dancers who make our competitive company. There is an AUDITION (usually in May) to be part of our talented competitive company. However, dancers who are NEW to the studio, may audition at any time by calling the studio director at 727-407-7533
