Legal Release and Studio Policy Acceptance
I, _____________________________________ the parent, guardian or participant (16 or older) understands the following statements.
CANCELATION - Cancelation over 15 days before the session or semester start will result in a full refund. Cancelation within 15 days of session or semester start will result in a 25% penalty. Once classes are started 1-month notice in writing must be given and refund will be issued for classes remaining after 1 month from cancelation submission; in the case that the notice not be given 1 month services will be charged to the account. RE-SPACING- Dropping or canceling a class within 2 weeks of a recital you or your child is due to participate in will incur a re-spacing fee of $20 per piece to cover any extra rehearsal time needed and added stress on the other students in the class.
PAYMENT - Seasonal Sessions must be paid in full before participation, 9 and 6 month sessions must have quarterly/semestral payments up to date (by due date) for students to be allowed to participate in classes.
RECITAL - All 6 and 9 month classes participate in recital and will be subject to a costume and recital fee. Recital is not optional and it is assumed that the student is participating when they register for a 6 or 9 month class. once costume and recital fees have been charged they are non-refundable.
ADDITIONAL FEES- additional fees may include optional Exams for any exam classes. competition, production, rehearsal and track suit fees for PD students. For all 6 and 9 month students, the account holder must understand there may be costume and recital fees applicable to the desired classes, by registering for recital classes you accept responsibility of costume, recital fees and recital participation. Recital, costume, ticket, competition and production fees are non- refundable.
HOLIDAYS AND STUDIO CANCELATION- En L’air Academy recognises statutory holidays, and these are calculated into your tuition based on 12 week sessions or 9 month semesters. If classes are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, when possible students may attend a make up class only for cancelled classes. Make up classes must be fulfilled within a week of the missed class and will not be available in May and June. Make up classes will not be rewarded for classes missed of participants or guardians own choice.
All classes must have 4 students registered to run the class, classes with less than the minimum may be cancelled or combined at En L'air Academy of Dance's discretion. Account Credit will be given for classes cancelled due to low registrations
UNIFORM- Students must come to class in set uniforms and footwear specific to the class. We have uniforms in order to set our students up for success in class as well as for their own safety and comfort. For class progress En L’air Academy reserves the right to deny class participation should an individual fail to comply with the uniform more than 3 times. Upon the first time an instructor may deny the student participation in certain skills deemed unsafe in the present attire.
SPOTTING AND CONSENT- during En L'air Academy of Dance classes students will perform skills they are learning for the first time and will require spotting and assistance by their instructor to perform these skills safely. This will require physical contact in a safe and professional manner and only under the circumstance of spotting, assistance and correcting body placement. Upon registering I understand that I am giving consent for En L'air Academy staff and instructors to safely and appropriately spot the student. I also understand that this consent may be taken away at any time through clear communication if a student feels uncomfortable with the physical contact. I understand that without spotting and assistance students may have restrictions in their dance and circus education.
MEDIA- Upon registration the student is authorized to appear in videos, photos, and other media that may be used by En L’air Academy and staff in print and/or other media, names will not be used unless participants are over the age of 16. You must communicate in writing if you would like to opt out media release.
PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS -the student (over 16) and parent under 16) is liable and responsible for alerting the studio and instructors of any pre-existing conditions and injuries, mentally or physically that may inhibit the students ability to participate and execute activities safely. the student/guardian is responsible for recognizing physical and mental limitations or exhaustion causing unsafe conditions. It is understood that participation in classes under the influence of substances including but not limited to drugs or alcohol is not permitted.
LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK -I understand that participation in Circus aerial classes may cause burns, bruising, cuts, blisters and abrasions. I understand that performing aerial activities off the floor will always have risk of falls and injuries caused by falls. I understand that physical activity including but not limited to dance, fitness, training, acrobatics, and the use of aerial apparatus may cause injuries to muscles, bones, joints and other corporal injuries. In signing this waiver, I understand the risks involved in dance, circus, acro and fitness classes provided and will not hold En L’air Academy accountable or liable in case of any and all accidents, injuries or death that may occur in classes, parties, recitals, or events organized by or attended with En L’air Academy and staff.
COVID 19- during the mask regulation bylaws in Calgary, students are asked to wear masks while in the building while they are not dancing. They do not need to be worn while dancing as physical activity is an exception but they can choose to wear them if they wish. Students will be sent home if exhibiting symptoms of Covid 19 and will be asked not to return for 14 days or test and receive a negative result for an earlier return. Please do the same if you or your child shows symptoms at home, and do not bring a sick student to class. Covid regulations and restrictions are everchanging and in registering, you are accepting responsibility for following government mandated restrictions.
