We obtain information about you when you book classes & services with us, purchase our products and sign up to our mailing list.
What we collect

• name & title
• contact information including postal address, email address & phone number
• other information relevant to our services including payment details
What we do with the information we gather
We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:
• Internal record keeping
• We may use the information to improve our products and services.
• We may periodically send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
• From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes. We may contact you by email, phone or mail. We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests.
Controlling your personal information
You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:
• whenever you are asked to fill in a form on the website, look for the box that you can click to indicate that you do not want the information to be used by anybody for direct marketing purposes

We make every effort to ensure that the information you share with us is recorded accurately, retained securely and used only according to your wishes. We protect your personal information and adhere to all current data protection act legislation with respect to protecting privacy. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and regularly update our policies and practices.
We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, phone or text message unless you have given your prior consent. We do not give, sell or trade our mailing list data with third parties. The information you provide will be used primarily to keep you informed about the activities of Dance HQ.
I confirm I am in good health and have no medical issues that may affect my ability to participate in classes at Dance HQ.
Dance HQ reserves the right to make changes to the advertised programme.
All bookings are non-refundable. You may transfer to another class or rearrange a date, subject to 24 hours notice being given.
In the unlikely event of Dance HQ cancelling a class, credit will be given or a later date will be arranged.
Class Cards can be used for any of our Adult Classes. They are activated at your first class following purchase, are valid for a set timeframe and cannot be extended.
5 Class Card - 5 weeks from activation at first class
10 Class Card - 8 weeks from activation at first class
Class Cards must be activated by attending a class within 4 weeks of purchase.
Class Cards cannot be used for Workshops, Adult Graded Classes, Guest Classes or Blaze Dance Academy
Guest Classes are clearly marked on our timetable. Dance HQ welcomes guest tutors to run their own classes from our studios. Dance HQ accepts no responsibility for class content and all enquiries must be directed to the relevant guest tutor.
BLAZE DANCE ACADEMY
￼All pupils will be asked to complete an online registration upon enrolment, if any of this information changes you should inform us immediately.
A commitment to attend all relevant lessons is expected; please contact us by email or phone if you are unable to attend.
Parents/guardians are requested to arrive promptly at the start & end of each lesson. Parents/guardians of younger children are welcome to wait in the reception area but it is not permitted for any parents/guardians to remain in the dance studio.
Bad behaviour will not be tolerated and pupils may be verbally disciplined and, if necessary, removed from the academy.
Chewing gum is not permitted in the studio and students are encouraged to bring water and a small healthy snack if necessary.
Fees are paid monthly in advance and are non-refundable on absence. Exceptional circumstances will only be considered at the discretion of the Directors.
Fees not received by the 2nd week of each month will be charged an additional late fee of 5%
Payment can be made in cash or card at the studio or via the online booking system.
New dancers are welcome to try our classes with a 3 week trial. Following this, dancers will be enrolled in the class fully and monthly auto-payments will be set up.
Should a student wish to discontinue a class then 1 month’s written notice is required. Fees are payable within this period.
During your trial, gym clothes and indoor sandshoes are adequate.
Students will be given a uniform guide upon enrolment and are expected to adhere to this following the completion of their trial.
All uniform & shoes should be ordered from Blaze Dance Academy.
Full uniform should be worn to all classes, all jewellery should be removed and hair should be tied back neatly.
All dancers in First Steps and above will be presented for annual BATD examinations in Ballet, Tap & Modern. Exams are an important part of learning to dance, they measure progress and can lead to professional, vocational qualifications.
Examinations are compulsory and all pupils will receive full preparation within classes.
Exam fees are set by the BATD and must be paid before the given deadline.
All dancers in Starlite and above are required to take part in Blaze Dance Academy’s annual summer performance.
Costume fees are not included in monthly class fees and every effort is taken to ensure costs are kept to a minimum. Costumes must be ordered and paid for by the dates specified.
Blaze Dance Academy dancers are fortunate to be invited to take part in many other events such as the Merchant City Festival and holiday dance schools throughout the year.
Classes will be notified in good time if they are required to participate.
