Welcome to CSD! Here is some information pertaining to our 2024/25 dance season.

Our year starts Monday, September 9th, 2024 and ends Saturday, May 31st, 2025.

Canadian School of Dance has 2 locations: 900 Greenbank Road (in between the Food basics and Rexall) and 35 Larkin Drive, right across the street. Studios 1, 2 and 3 are at 900 Greenbank Road, and Studios 4, 5 and 6 are at 35 Larking Drive. Our main office is at 35 Larkin Drive.

Some important reminders:
- The class schedule subject to change at the discretion of the Directors
- There will be NO REFUNDS once classes have started. Please see the office for options.
- There will be NO REFUNDS for classes missed for circumstances beyond our control (i.e. inclement weather). Dancers are encouraged to make up a class if they miss one, at a comparable level. Please email info@canadianschoolofdance.com to confirm the makeup class.
- For classes canceled for other reasons, such as a teacher who is absent due to illness, a makeup class will be scheduled.
- When a holiday falls on a regular class day, the dancer is encouraged to make up the class by taking another at a comparable level. Please email info@canadianschoolofdance.com to confirm the makeup class.

Male discounts apply only to tuition fees. 50% of all styles/classes for boys except for Hip Hop and Acro. If you have a boy, we will go in and apply the discount.

Should your credit card or your payment information that you provided change during the duration of the registration agreement, you are responsible to make sure the office has the updated information before the first of the month.

If at any point we have to close the studio due to circumstances beyond our control all classes will be moved to Zoom. If you do not wish to participate on Zoom, you will be required to inform the office and your account will be adjusted accordingly. All classes are hybrid except for the higher levels of Acro and they would move to a Stretch and Strength class.

PAYMENT:
You may pay your tuition in full or divide it into monthly payments, starting when you register, with your final payment being during the last month of the dance year (May 2025).

The annual Registration fee is $30+HST, due upon registration. (Max 1 per family)

A $40.00 service charge will apply to all failed payments or payments that do not go through when we are processing payments. ie if your card is expired it will not go through and we have to stop and get in touch with you.

The prices are all listed in dance studio pro when you register. If you take multiple classes the discount will automatically be applied.

45 min class is $604.94
60 min class is $683.20
75 min class is $730.23
90 min class is $828.49

The discounts are below and are given based on the number of classes your family takes.

For every class you sign up for, a recital costume will be ordered for your dancer (EXCLUDING competitive classes and Acro classes). Each costume ranges from $80-130. It is your responsibility to pay or withdraw from the recital before November 1st, 2024.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
There is a two-week trial period when you register to take a class at CSD. If you choose to withdraw your dancer from a class(es) within those two weeks, we will provide a refund, minus the $30.00 registration fee and the cost of the class(es) you attended.

If a dancer feels that a class is not a good fit, we are happy to switch them to another class as long as it’s age and level appropriate (at the discretion of the directors). However, when registering for classes, you commit to paying for the classes you signed up for from September until June. After the grace period has passed, we will only offer credits (no cash value) to your account. Credits do not expire and can be used toward any future classes. We do not provide credits for missed lessons, holidays, or inclement weather.

When you register for a class(es), you also commit your dancer to participate in our annual recital. If you do not wish to have your dancer participate in the recital, you must email or call us by November 1st. If you fail to do so, you will remain subject to costume fees.

Let me be clear, we do not. If you sign up for one, one hour class, you are agreeing to pay $33.90 registration + $683.20 (for a 1 hour class) = $717.10 regardless if you decide to stop coming. If you decide you want to take advantage of our offer to pay monthly, and you stop coming, you are still responsible to pay.

Payment options are as follows; You may pay in full or divide your payment over 10 months online. If you are paying over ten months the payments will run August-May. If you sign up later, you will be able to pay over the number of months left between then and May. For example, if you sign up in September, you will have 9 months to pay. If you sign up in October, you will have 8 months ending in May.

We would be grateful if you would fill in this form to give us permission to take photos of your child/dancer and use these in our printed and online publicity. I consent to the Canadian School of Dance using photographs and or video recordings including images of my above-mentioned dancer for both internally and externally to promote CSD. These images could be used in print or digital media formats including print publications, websites, e-marketing, posters, banners, advertising, film, social media.

If you want to opt out you need to go to waivers in your parent portal and opt out. We will be sent an email when you do so.

Our dance year finishes on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 for regular classes. EVERY RECREATIONAL CLASS WILL PARTICIPATE IN OUR YEAR END RECITAL, however, you may choose to not take part. All dancers are opted in to recital automatically, so please let the office know as soon as possible if you would not like for your child to participate. For those taking part in recital, there will be an extra cost for a recital costume, which will be chosen and ordered by the teacher (excluding most competitive classes and all Acro classes). Each costume ranges between $90-160. It is your responsibility to pay or withdraw from recital before November 1, 2024. An email will be sent out with instructions on how to measure your dancer, as measurements will be due by November 1, 2024. The recital will take place in June 2025, and will be at the Algonquin Commons Theatre. To watch your child in it, you will need to purchase tickets (around $36 each) in the spring. Other costs to consider are stage makeup, including red lipstick, concealer, foundation, mascara, blush and eyeshadow.

I am aware that participating in dance, gymnastic activities and acrobatic dance involves inherent risks and
hazards. I freely accept and fully assume all such risks, dangers, and hazards and the possibility of personal injury,
property damage, or loss resulting from such risks and hazards. I voluntarily agree to release the Canadian School of Dance from any and all liability for any loss, damage, injury or expense that I or my next of kin, successors or dependents may suffer or incur as a result of participation with this event due to any cause whatsoever. If I cannot be contacted, I authorize Canadian School of Dance to seek medical services in case of serious injury or illness. I further agree to accept financial responsibility in excess of the benefits allowed by my health plan. I understand that Canadian School of Dance employees and/or contractors will not assume responsibility for any lost or stolen property, or for any bodily or personal injury consisting of or arising out of any participation in any physical training or athletic activity.

At CSD we offer trial classes, to give you the option to try before you buy. When trialing, you are entitled to ONE class per dance style, which you should schedule for the next available opportunity (the next class). If you have scheduled a trial, and can no longer make it (for sickness or other reasons), please let our office know, so we can extend it.

Once you have scheduled a trial for the next class, we can hold your spot in that class for one week after the trial class is over. After that, we cannot guarantee that you will have a place in that class.
