PROGRAM INFORMATION AND POLICIES
Intrigue Dance requires our child dancers to take a FULL PROGRAM of tap, jazz and ballet. If cutbacks must be made to a dance schedule, students are required to take ballet.
Our syllabus and student placement approach at Intrigue Dance has been tried, tested and proven. We teach dance technique beginning in the very first class, whether the student is three years old or thirteen.
Intrigue Dance prides itself on its close attention paid to placing each individual student in the appropriate class level. In each age group, there are several distinct class levels, and instructors carefully evaluate every student every year, so that each dancer can be placed into the appropriate skill level class within their particular age group. We want each dancer to be effectively challenged, but still be able to progress at a comfortable level of training. Extra classes are available if your dancer wishes to accelerate more quickly to the next level.
Curriculum Policy
• As children’s classes are progressive, children are enrolled in class(es) for an entire school year.
• All classes will continue throughout the year, and unless otherwise noted, your child is expected to remain in the same class(es) for the entire season.
• Dancers may be moved up or down due to progress at any point.
• No monthly, weekly, or single class enrollment (with exception of a trial program) is allowed.
• Students are placed in classes according to age/previous training. Intrigue reserves the right to move a student up/down a level at any time.
• Classes may be permanently canceled if there is insufficient attendance in class. In this case, an alternate class may be offered for the student at another date/time.
• Please note that if a cancellation of class does occur, and no alternate class can be found, Intrigue will issue a credit toward your account. No monetary refund will be given.
• Instructors can be subject to change; in this case no refund will be given.
• As a courtesy (not mandatory), Intrigue Dance will try to notify parents of a teacher’s absence, and will find a comparable sub in their absence. In the event of a last-minute sub, no prior notice will be given.
• Classes may also be combined with comparable level classes if a substitute is unavailable.
• If a class must be canceled due to a lack of a substitute, a makeup class will be available.
Student Absence and Late Policy
• If your child must be absent from any given class, please submit the absence through your parent portal BEFORE their absence.
• If a dancer has an injury or a non-contagious condition, we ask the dancer to attend class and watch to avoid falling behind.
• We ask all students to be in attendance for every class the 4 weeks leading up to recital.
• Students late to class are required to stay outside the studio room and wait for permission to enter class. Students more than 15 mounts late will not be allowed into class (per discretion of teacher), nor be allowed to schedule a makeup class.
Viewing/Visiting Policy
Intrigue does not permit any viewing or visiting during class time unless otherwise noted for a special event.

Ways to Save and Discounts
The most cost effective way to pay for the season’s tuition is when you pay in full prior to the first class taken. Intrigue gives discounts for yearly payments. Please keep up to date with notifications, as dates of discounts are announced via newsletters and email blasts. However, Intrigue Dance does offer payment plans (read below) if you wish to split up your investment into easy monthly payments.
Autopay (Monthly/Bi-Yearly Investment Plans)
• Anyone wishing to break up their investment into Monthly/Bi-Yearly payments must agree to an automated payment plan schedule and leave a valid credit card on file.
• An agreement will be issued explaining the autopay rules in its entirety.
• In the event of withdrawal from class prior to the end of the season, Intrigue requires written notice of cancellation 30 days prior to the desired withdrawal date.
Late and Declined Fees
• There is a $25 charge for any late payments. Investments are considered 'late' one week following the first class taken, or after 5 days following scheduled autopays. An additional $15 will be added on for every week thereafter until payment is current.
• There is a $30 charge for all returned checks.
• There is a $15 fee for any declined cards on autopay, along with the associated late fee outlined above.
STUDIO COMMUNICATION DISSEMINATION
There are several ways we disseminate information to our students and their families. If there is ever a question not answered through the following sources, please ask someone at the front desk or contact management@intriguedance.com.

Email/E-blasts

• Each E-blast and E-mail received is filled with important information to be read thoroughly.
• Please check your emails frequently to ensure you receive all communications sent
Website (www.intriguedance.com)
• Our website is updated on a regular basis to provide the most relevant and up-to-date information on class schedules and descriptions, instructor bios, and much more.
Physical Handouts
• Some information will be communicated additionally with a physical handout in class.
• Please check with your student and teacher regularly to ensure you have all necessary handouts.
Open Communication
It is very important to Intrigue and its instructors that we maintain open communication with families. If any parent has a question or concern regarding his/her dancer, please consult the front desk or send an email to management@intriguedance.com.
Your teacher or management will contact the parent to discuss the issue during a time when she/he is not teaching class. Please do not request a 'quick meeting' with an instructor shortly before classes start, in between classes or during class. At these times, instructors are not able to give you their full attention since their focus is on teaching. We would rather be able to respond to any concerns at a time when the instructor can focus completely on the issue at hand. Thank you for understanding.
Winter Showcase & Recital
• All dancers are required to perform in Winter Showcase & Recital. Dancers are only exempt if enrollment is after the showcase/recital date, or enrollment is too close to show date for participation. (Teacher approval for cut-off date varies per class).
• Dancers will be measured for costumes during classes in the months of December and January, and sizes will be determined soon thereafter.
• Tickets to Performances are sold separately, and emails will be sent with more information closer to performance days.

Intrigue is happy to provide families with monthly and bi-yearly financing options for 2022-23 Season Tuition!
