Addressing Issues:
Unfortunately, we do make mistakes. We welcome you as parents to bring those to our attention. We do ask that you use discretion as you address them with us. We ask that any conversations that are sensitive and private in matter be held while classes are not in session and are addressed to Lisa Stay.
Promptness:
*Promptness is very important!
*Dancers need adequate time in order to be physically and mentally prepared for the demands of the dance class.
*Students who arrive more than 15 minutes late may be asked to observe class.
Dance Etiquette:
At Elevate Dance, our primary goal is for your dancer to have fun while learning dance technique and a strong work ethic. We expect all dancers to show respect to themselves, each other, and all instructors. You will see our instructors enforcing the following rules:
*Be prepared for class. Proper dress code is required for all dance classes.
*Hair must be pulled up and secured back. Ballet students must wear hair in a bun.
*Use the restroom prior to class.
*Do not have frequent class absences.
*No cell phones in the dance studio. (Please keep all personal items in your dance bag.)
*No gum is allowed in class.
*Be respectful and kind to instructors, peers, and all ELD staff.
*Do not talk during class unless you are asking a question.
*No leaning, lounging or hanging on the ballet barres.
*Clap at the end of class to show respect for yourself, your fellow dancers, and the instructor.
*If injured, tell the instructor prior to class…work slowly and carefully or sit down and observe.
*If ill, do not come to class.

Studio Rules for Parents:
* It is the parent's responsibility to check your e-mail regularly. Be aware of dates and events, such as make-up classes, vacation days, rehearsal dates and recital dates. Announcements and Newsletters are also posted on the studio's website and in your parent portal.
*Notify the studio of any medical problems a dancer may have..
*Inform the studio if you have moved or if any personal information has changed including
phone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc.
*Keep noise to a minimum in waiting areas so classes are not disturbed monitor siblings and do not stand at the door to make corrections to your dancer. .
*Cleaning up food and drink spills promptly and throwing away any trash in garbage cans
Class Placement:
Class placement for new students is determined by age, physical development, and
level of previous training. All dancers may be asked to come in for evaluation prior to enrollment in a
class. Class placement at end of season will be based on class participation, attendance, progress, and
work ethic. Each dancer progresses at their own rate; levels are not based on age, but ability. Class
placement decisions are at the discretion of the teachers.
**Remember that dance levels are not like grades at school. Dancers may remain in the same
level for several years before they are physically and mentally capable to accept the challenges required
of them in the next level. Elevate Dance always has your dancer's best interest in mind when deciding
on class placement.
Substitutions:
We reserve the right to schedule a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or is otherwise unable to teach class. If the studio cannot arrange a substitute teacher, a make-up date will be scheduled.
Contacting Instructors:
At ELD we encourage parents to talk directly with their child’s dance teacher. However, oftentimes it is not convenient during class hours as many teachers have back-to-back classes through the evening. If you wish to set up an appointment to meet with a teacher, please let the front desk know and they will convey the message and have the instructor contact you at their convenience. Connecting the instructors or director directly through social media, text, is not acceptable and the instructor will direct you to use the studio means of communication.
Termination:
Elevate Dance reserves the right to terminate lessons for a parent or student for not following
studio policies. To ensure a safe and pleasant environment, the Owner in conjunction with staff
reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason they deem necessary.
