There will be an annual nonrefundable $30 insurance fee (registration fee) for each dancer.
Tuition is due the 1st day of the month, and invoices for the following month are passed out at the end of the previous month. Tuition must be paid before the 7th by check, money order, or cash, to the studio location during class hours. Tuition not paid by the 7th of the month will be charged a $10.00 per month late fee. A $36 fee will be applied to all accounts for returned checks. If your check is returned, we will no longer accept them as payment for your account. Please submit at the studio office or to the coach/instructor of your class. We do not offer make-up classes for classes missed. Please also note, tuition paid at the beginning of the month will not be refunded if the dancer decides to stop taking classes mid-month.
Dance Attire:
We appreciate modesty in all dance attire for all of our classes and groups. We also prefer dancers wear leotards, as it helps with cleaning choreography and movements. Appropriate dancewear and shoes should be worn to class each week. A full coverage leotard is recommended for female dancers in all classes. Below, you will find suggested dance attire and shoes for each performance group and dance genre:
Ballet: Ballet slippers, tights (nude, pink, or black), leotard, hair pulled back in tight bun, skirt is optional.
Tap: Tight fitting tops/leggings, or tights and leotard, tap shoes.
Hip Hop/Cheer: Tennis shoes/high tops, athletic wear that allows for full movement (please no jeans or other restricting clothing). Knee pads suggested for floor work.
Jazz/Acro: Tight fitting tops/leggings, jazz shoe or foot undeez or pirouette shoe is suggested. No baggy clothing or jeans.
Recital:
Registration will remain open for all students from September - December. Upon returning from the Winter Holiday Break, all students enrolled in class will be assumed to be participating in the June Recital. Recital is a COMMITMENT. Please be aware of the time and effort that goes into planning this event as well as choreographing each piece. Recital fee, such as costumes, must be paid in full by the end of November for winter recital and the end of May for spring recital. This fee includes the cost of costumes, tights, and accessories. It is very difficult to order costumes and have them here in time after the first of the year. Therefore, we must meet this deadline.
Behavior and Etiquette:
Crescendo Dance Company is an all-ages studio, requiring all dancers to promote respect, dignity and role-model behavior, especially for our younger dancers. Dancers must give respect and full attention to their teacher during class, while also being respectful and accepting of their fellow classmates. Appropriate language and conversations are expected at all times. Dancers are expected to leave non-dance related dilemmas at the door, promoting a welcoming and friendly environment for every dancer.
Dancers should be prepared to dance at the scheduled time for class. Gum or any other type of food or drink, except a water bottle, are not allowed. Please refrain from using cellphones during class, and assure they are silenced or off during class. When we travel and perform, we expect all dancers to act in a manner that aligns with our expectations to help us maintain a positive reputation. Dancers who do not follow our behavior and etiquette may be unable to register for classes in the future.
Absences:
There will not be refunds or deductions for missed classes, unless for a major health or family related reason, in which case extended absence make ups may be granted. If you are going to miss a class, please let your instructor know in advance via email, phone call, or text message. Please note that failure to show up for class may result in removal from a performance or competition routine.
Parent Observation:
We love parent involvement in their dancer’s participation in our studio, and we want you to feel welcome. Dancers commonly perform and are more focused without guests and their family members present. We do ask parents to limit their observation during class time. If there are extenuating circumstances, please speak directly with your dancer’s coach or instructor. Please be considerate of all families. We will have volunteer opportunities for parents at competitions and events, so stay tuned for ways to support our studio and our dancers!
Please note that dancers in our Company must have parent volunteers during recital.
Communication:
Communication is critical for our dancers, families, and staff. We send email newsletters and will post information to Crescendo Dance Company social media pages. Please add our Information email address as a contact in your email and let us know if you have not received any emails. When you register, your email address will be added to our list. Please “like” us on Facebook to assure you are getting our updates and information as well.
Snow Days/Closures:
In most instances, we will follow school closures for the Estacada School district. If Crescendo’s surrounding roads are believed to be safe for travel, classes may stay in session. It’s important to check our communication platforms regularly to stay up-to-date on closures. Crescendo will not offer refunds for missed or canceled classes due to weather conditions.
Liability:
Disclaimer: Crescendo and its staff cannot be held liable for harm to students while on Crescendo Dance Company studio property or in the care of the studio staff members at performances, competitions, and/or other studio related events. Crescendo Dance Company staff will not be held responsible for injuries or harm experienced by crescendo participants. Students and parents assume all responsibility and waive any claim for compensation for accidental injury incurred by students while at the studio or in the care of Crescendo staff, and hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless the studio, its agents, employees or servants, whether paid or volunteer, against any and all claims which may arise from an injury to a student while attending the Crescendo Dance Company.
Costume & Competition Fees:
Costume fees will vary depending on each routine. Parents and dancers will be notified of these costume fees and they will be due with the following month’s tuition. Costumes may be available to keep or to rent. This information will also be included when costumes are announced.
Competition fees will vary depending on the competition and number of routines being competed. Dancers in performance groups are expected to compete with the rest of their team in all routines. Competition fees will be applied to each dancer’s tuition the month prior to the competition to ensure the competition hosts receive payment in time.
We will do our best to keep fees affordable and give notice as far in advance as possible for costume and competition fees.
