Help Keep Our Studio Safe!
Prior to attending class, everyone must complete the Pre-Screening Certification Form (p.5)
This will ensure that all participants are attesting to being in good health and have not been in contact with others with contagious viruses and understand all our safety measures
Please note: our standards are based on local, state and CDC recommendations.
As guidelines are updated, this may affect ours as well. In some cases, our standards are higher
Our studio was part of a joint letter with the Massachusetts Dance Studio Owners to the State Advisory Board addressing our concerns and recommendations. As a result of this, the Board took our recommendations and allowed dance studios to open in phase 2, step 1. We are also a member of the Dance Studio Owners Association which is a global affiliation that has been on the forefront of dance studio ownership

Entering the Studio (All enter using main front door)
Please arrive promptly to class and wait in your cars until notified to enter via your class BAND
Teachers will notify dancers on their class BAND when cleaning is completed and they may enter
Social distancing is in place outside the studio per state guidelines (i.e. parking lots, congregating areas)
We recommend using the bathroom prior to class to maximize your class time
We request that siblings or any other non-dancers do not enter the building unless necessary
Only Parents/guardians of young/new dancers or anyone in-need of special assistance will be allowed in the studio. Please contact us in advance, as feasible, due to COVID guidelines occupancy limits
Dancers should arrive fully in dress code, including hair in a bun (unless instructed otherwise)
Dance bag essentials - dance shoes, water bottle or additional items as recommended by teachers
Everyone must wash hands or apply sanitizer upon entry
Attendance and contact information taken of everyone who enters the studio
Face coverings are necessary when entering (we recommend clear face shields) unless you have a valid medical exemption*. See below for more specifics
During Class/In Studio
Class sizes and total occupancy will be limited to adhere to current safety guidelines
Socially “dis-dance” 6 feet as much as possible and when not dancing
Visual markings will be on the floor to aid in social distancing and traffic direction
Face coverings are not necessary when dancing and at parent’s discretion or with a valid medical exemption* (per BOH).
We recommend clear face shields (available for purchase at studio upon prior request)
Per state guidelines, face coverings and social distancing of six feet is required when participants are not actively engaged in an activity* (we realize this is opposite from the new norm but it is specific to our industry guidelines)
Breaks can be taken by those wearing face coverings
Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the studio
Disposable masks will be available in limited quantities as needed
No sharing of items - water bottles, face coverings, etc.
The sharing of hand-held props will be modified to either sanitization between uses or if not feasible, dancers will be given a prop that is not to be shared to reuse each week
Tactile/hands on correction will be limited, with consideration of whether or not PPE is being worn by both teacher and dancer, where the correction needs to be made (i.e. foot vs. arm) as well as the comfort level and/or permission of parents. Please address any concerns you may have regarding this via BAND or email in advance
Dancers should eat outside their time at the studio. If they have an underlying condition in which they need to have a snack with them or they have been given permission due to long days/evenings spent at the studio, they will be given a specific area to eat while following guidelines
If anyone becomes ill during class, they will be sent to a separate room and offered assistance and their parent/guardian will be contacted
Staff will use their best judgement when a situation arises while following guidelines to the best of their abilities based on the circumstances
Cleaning & Sanitization
All high touch surfaces will be properly cleaned and/or sanitized following studio use
Bathrooms will be cleaned after studio use and more frequently as needed
Deep cleaning of the studio will occur on a regular basis
Cleaning logs will be kept
Ventilation & Filtration
Whenever possible, our back room (the DePrince room) will have the garage door and back door open for extra ventilation
Our front room (the Fosse room) has 2 doors that can be opened for extra ventilation and/or the HVAC system can be used. It has recently been inspected and cleaned and filters have been replaced with HEPA ones
Online & Hybrid Classes
Our classes are primarily in-studio classes and the focus will be on those dancers when the studio is open.
Hybrid classes may be offered as an alternative per the approval of the studio owner
Online classes may be scheduled when the studio is closed per the direction of the studio owner
Please refer to our policies on DSP/Parent Portal for more info or contact us with any concerns
We will use our best judgment to help dancers and keep safety as the priority
This may mean we go against guidelines at times to prevent harm or provide aid to a dancer
We will follow our usual safety protocols while maintaining current guidelines as much as possible
Please alert us to any concerns you may have with this in advance
Class Pick Up/Dismissal
Parents/guardians should be prompt in picking up. If you are late, please notify us immediately to make arrangements due to our current reduced occupancy limits
Dancers will be reminded to socially distance, sanitize their hands and wear a face covering as appropriate while exiting
Parents/guardians should be available to pick up younger children at the door while socially distancing and wearing face coverings as appropriate
We cannot release anyone without their ride present
Please be patient and courteous to all as we work through implementing all these new guidelines
As we go through this process, we may need to adjust how it works
Dismissal from the DePrince Room (back room) - you may pick up from the back of the building
Please enter around the right of the building (Dollar Tree end)
Dismissal from the Fosse Room (front room) - you may pick up from the main/front door and/or parking lot area if you give your child permission to walk to the car (we cannot guarantee escort of dancers)
No parking/standing is allowed in front of the studio (Fire Zone) - this is strictly enforced by our landlord/property managers and we will receive a lease violation even after hours
We encourage payments to be made either electronically via Square, Venmo or you may drop a check in the mail slot at the front of the studio. We do not recommend at this time that you mail payments as there are currently postal issues at the studio that we are working on. You may also have your dancer use the in-studio drop box for cash or check payments at the entry area but please let us know if you do so. Teachers cannot accept payments. Please ensure your dancer’s info is included and it is in a sealed envelope. We cannot take responsibility for any lost payments. Please refer to our policies for more details.
If you have any questions or concerns with any of these procedures, please let us know prior attending class. We are happy to discuss and clarify any of the guidelines. There is a lot of misinformation out there, even among our industry. We are proud to say we have been very diligent about our efforts and have gone through multiple guidelines (even those of similar industries and populations) to apply the best standards for our studio while meeting and/or exceeding the current guidelines that apply to dance studios. All students are expected to attend every class.
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the class start time prepared for the class with proper attire and shoes.
If a student is absent, update on your Parent Portal. You may also contact your teacher on BAND.
Please notify as soon as possible as this could affect class being held for others. We do require a minimum per class.
Multiple absences especially during the second half of the season (January - on) have an impact on our choreography for our dancers and showcase performances.
Please do not come to class if you are sick or have been around anyone with a contagious illness (refer to our Studio Safety Guidelines/Checklist)
Any studio injuries and accidents must be reported to the teacher and via email as soon as possible DanceDreamworks@hotmail.com
If you have an injury outside of the studio or experiencing some pain, please advise your teacher and email the studio owner
Any injuries will need a doctor's note to resume dance activities

We reserve the right to cancel and/or reschedule classes as needed.
Online classes will constitute in-studio classes to ensure continuation of dance curriculum. No Refunds/adjustments will be issued.
Your enrollment is for the entire dance season unless otherwise specified.
Dance Dreamworks, Dreamworks Performing Arts Center, Amanda Singer will be held harmless for any studio delays, closures or the related due to Government Shut Down, Emergency Orders, fire, flood, weather, and any Act of God whether physical or otherwise. Additional information can be found in our liability waiver and online class policy,
DREAMWORKS PERFORMING ART CENTER POLICIES 2020
1. Tuition is due monthly by the 15th of September to May. June tuition is due with or before May tuition. You will be billed based on 9 months.
Any outstanding balances are due prior to purchasing Showcase tickets.
Tuition is due regardless of absences, closings, scheduled breaks or studio events (Nutcracker and other events) and is non-refundable.
Credit and debit card payments can be made 24 hours a day via Square Invoice.
Cash or check are gladly accepted at the studio during studio hours, with a note or memo line including students name, what it is for, and in a sealed envelope. You may drop this in our dropbox inside the waiting room. Cash should be exact change. Teachers cannot accept any payments.
A credit card must be on file and you consent to it being charged accordingly (as a backup payment method).
If you prefer not to do this, we will require a deposit upon enrollment that can be refunded or applied at the end of the dance season.
2. Any tuition and fees not paid by the 15th will be subject to a $10.00 late fee. After 30 days, an additional $10.00 will be added until the balance is paid in full. Payment reminders from Square are automatically generated. Tuition will be due on the 1st of the month (as of Season 7 - Sept. 2020).
3. Square invoices are automatically each month as an added convenience and courtesy each month. Any outstanding tuition is due regardless of whether an invoice is sent and/or received, If you notice any discrepancies in invoices, please inform us and we will look into it for you.
4. All payments are non-refundable, non-transferrable and any payments received will be applied to the current balance due before any extras (i.e. photos, merch, events, tickets.)
5. Costumes are studio property until they are paid for (including any past due balances). If they are not taken at the conclusion of the season, they become studio property.
6. For all participants in our Annual Nutcracker: SEASON 7 (2020-2021)
$50 Nutcracker Performance Fee - includes audition, rehearsals/teaching, 1 costume (first role) - DUE AT AUDITION or will be invoiced
$20 EACH Additional Roles - includes costume
Family Rates (immediate siblings) $50 1st, $40 2nd, $35 3rd child
$20 1st, $10 2nd, $15 3rd child
7. Costume fees may be paid either:
1) In full at the beginning of the season/upon enrollment. Ex: $150
2) Costume fees are divided in half and split over 5 months with the balance due in January and a $10 fee added
(Ex: $150/2 = $75/5 =$15mth) and remaining balance due in January
(Ex:$75 + $10 = $85).
8. Total costume fee will still be due if a child drops a class after December as the costumes will have been ordered. The costume is property of the customer who paid for it (if your balance is current). You may donate to our costume closet if you prefer.
9. There is a 14 day notice to withdraw/drop from classes. This must be done in writing via email.
We reserve the right to remove a student from a class/program
Tuition is due for the month the student withdraws and there are applicable drop fees (January-June).
Ex: Notice must be given in December (14 days prior to drop in January) and the resulting drop fees would apply - 50% (see below)
Any prior or current promotions that fall during this time would be excluded and not applied.
Drop in January 50% of the total remaining balance of the season/all remaining payments due
Drop in February 75% of the total remaining balance of the season/all remaining payments due
Drop in March - June 100% of the total remaining balance of the season/all remaining payments due
Although we hate to see any of our students withdraw from classes,it is detrimental to the success of the class and upcoming performances as well as very challenging for our staff and studio to accommodate these changes.
We generally have an open door policy for students to return. If you have extraordinary circumstances for your withdrawal, please speak to us.
You agree to all policies upon enrollment and we reserve the right to amend these at any time.
I am aware that all activities in the dance space are available for viewing in the waiting room via closed circuit security camera.I also understand Dance Dreamworks/DPAC staff uses the wifi in-studio camera to monitor classes remotely.
Photography and Videography of my child may be used for advertising purposes including website, social media, etc.
Photos or videos of the registered child may be taken at private and public studio events as part of their participation in our programs.
Photos and videos shared in the BAND app for educational/rehearsal purposes by teachers are not to be shared outside of the app/group.
***Personal Photography and Videography are strictly prohibited DURING our Annual Spring Showcase and Rehearsal for the safety of all dancers****

Physical Activity Risk
My child is participating in dance class offered by Dreamworks Performing Arts Center (DPAC) in which they will receive information and instruction about dance and related activities. I recognize that dance requires physical exertion, which may be strenuous and may cause physical injury, and I am fully aware of the risks and hazards involved. I will disclose any and all medical conditions that could impact my dancer(s) performance, health, safety or those they may come into contact with.
I further certify the additional risk associated with COVID-19. All dancers must self certify they are healthy to be in studio. All dancers/dance families must disclose if they tested posted for COVID or came into contact with anyone who did. All related health & safety guidelines will be followed. I will not hold DPAC responsible for any incidents where my dancer(s) did not comply with these guidelines either intentionally or unintentionally. I understand that all staff will do their best to provide a safe experience but there is no warranty of safety.
I will make faculty aware of any medical conditions or injuries that occur with my child during the season that may affect their ability to safely participate in class as soon as possible.
A doctor's note may be required to return to dance after certain illness or injury has occurred. My child and I will respect the final decision of the faculty in regards to the safety of the child as to whether or not they may participate in class and/or performances. No refunds are given. A credit maybe provided in extenuating circumstances.
I hold harmless Dance Dreamwork, DPAC, Amanda Singer and all associated staff and workers of any liability associated with this risk whether inside the studio, outside or during online classes.
Dance Dreamworks, DPAC is not responsible for students outside studio doors or children that are not current students at the studio.
Dancers agree to maintain proper safety at all times and younger dancers should be supervised during online classes for assistance.

3. COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

4. For safety, students are not permitted to wait outside the building to be picked up from class. Please notify us immediately if there is an issue with pick up. You may incur a late fee if teachers must wait with your child after pick up time (more than 1x).
5. Attire/Dress Code
• Please arrive in full dress code including proper bun and dance shoes
• No street shoes are permitted on studio/Marley (black) flooring
• Hip-hop students must bring dance sneakers for class. Buns not required
• Shoe Exchange - we welcome any donations or trades for our shoe exchange
• Attire & dance shoes should be ordered through the studio or by our recommendations only
• Only bottled/resealable containers
• No sharing of drinks, food, etc.
• Bottled water is available for $1
• No food due to COVID guidelines including mints, candy, cough drops or gum (unless otherwise agreed to by DPAC)
7. For safety, please limit jewelry. No loose jewelry should be worn
8. Please also limit chap stick/lip balm as this becomes a distraction with younger ones
9. Only Dance Dreamworks/DPAC staff are permitted to enter the staff-only areas and go behind the desk area.
10. Incident Reports
Any and all incidents (accident, injury, damage, etc.) must be reported to a teacher and/or management.

11. Lost & Found
• We are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items
• Please keep valuable items home
• Lost & found items not claimed will be donated or become studio property
12. Class Cancellations/Weather
DPAC generally follows the Silver Lake Schools closure policies in regards to inclement weather. However, due to most classes being held in the evening and some on the weekends, we make our own final decisions.
On days where it is a difficult decision as to whether or not to close, we generally make a final decision by 2:30pm. This is posted on BAND.
13. Make Ups/Absences
All studio closures, regardless of the reason, do not have automatic makeups.
• Students who miss class due to their own reasons are responsible for learning missed lessons. Please check with your teacher.
• Students who cannot participate in class due to an injury or otherwise, should still attend class to observe
During the months of Sept-Jan, dancers may take a class one level up or down from their own (if there isn’t an equivalent) as a make up. This is not required.
Make Ups are generally not possible
Feb-June as it is focused on choreography
Please contact us if you wish to schedule a make up to coordinate with their teacher(s).
Our dance season is divided into trimesters. After a trimester has hit three closures for the same class, a makeup will be determined for the entire class at that time. In some cases, a makeup class may be on a different day/time if needed.
We reserve the right to adjust class times & locations as necessary to best continue our dance education.
