OWNERSHIP
Items produced by Richardson Dance Studio (including original music edits, choreography, creative concepts, costumes, props and sets) remain the property of Richardson Dance Studio and cannot be replicated or reproduced.
OTHER CLASSES
When enrolling at Richardson Dance Studio, you are committing to RDS. We do not allow students to do classes at other dance schools while taking classes at RDS unless an agreement has been made by the Director.
PHYSICAL CONTACT
In order to provide adequate dance training, it is necessary for dance teachers to physically coach in the development of student technique and placement, which may require strictly appropriate physical contact between dance teaching staff and students.
TERM FEES
RDS will issue Term fee invoices during the first few weeks of each Term. Fees are due before the end of the term.
Term fees are averaged out over the entire teaching year and therefore each term is the same regardless of whether the term contains 7 or 11 weeks. If there are any outstanding fees from the previous term, your child will not be allowed to participate in their classes until the account has been finalized. In Term 4 all accounts must be finalized by dress rehearsal. Failure to do so will mean your child will not be able to perform in the end of year show.
REFUND POLICY
During Term 4, there are a number of occasions when additional classes or rehearsals are held to prepare for the annual recital. These classes are held without cost to participating students. RDS considers, therefore, that any classes that don't run due to public holidays or that are cancelled during the year are adequately catered for by these additional classes. Accordingly, there will be no credits given to students for classes that are cancelled by them for any reason (except for an ongoing injury (2 weeks or more) with a medical certificate).
BULLYING POLICY
Richardson Dance Studio rejects all forms of bullying.
No student, employee, parent, caregiver or community member should experience bullying within the learning, working or social environments of Richardson Dance Studio. All reported bullying within the studio is taken very seriously and will not be tolerated. Suspension or expelsion may occur.
PROPERTY
Richardson Dance Studio cannot be held responsible for any property lost or damaged on the premises.
BEHAVIOUR
All students and parents are expected to behave in a respectable manner towards all staff members of Richardson Dance Studio both inside the studio and out. Any kind of disrespectful behaviour will result in immediate expulsion of the student, forfeiting any term or advance payment. Social media posts directly related/or involving Richardson Dance Studio must be respectful and in line with the ethos and culture of the studio. No one is to post choreography from any class unless they have permission from the Director.
PICK UP/DROP OFF
All children are the responsibility of the studio for the duration of the class ONLY. Before and after class is the responsibility of the parent/carer. All children are to be collected from the studio, under NO circumstances are the children permitted to wait on the street.
STUDIO CLOSURE
In the case of whole studio closure due to a pandemic or other reason RDS will provide online classes via Zoom for all enrolled students.
