Term 4 is our performance term and as a general rule, we don't offer spaces for new students this term. Pupil-free days in the mainstream school system do not affect us and we operate as normal on those days.
CLASS AGE GROUPS
Our classes are primarily grouped by age (& colour coded), however, entry to some classes may be at the teachers discretion taking into account the individual students skills, ability & maturity.
When considering your child/rens ages for classes, please keep in mind we use the age cut-off of 30 June, 2024.
e.g. if your child is turning 6 BY 30 June 2023 then they would be classed as 6 for age group purposes.
If your child is 5 now and turns 6 AFTER 30 June (i.e. 1 July onwards) then your child would be classed as 5 for age group purposes.

UPDATES
These are emailed so please add our email to your email address book so you won’t miss any important news! We have a main Studio3.4 Facebook page for general public information, along with our individual private Campus Family Page for you to chat with your community, and Instagram - but these sources are not always the most reliable form of communication, so please don’t rely solely upon them.
Remember the Parent Portal is our main hub of goodness. Check it often for all Studio3.4 news!
DANCEWEAR
Our studio t-shirt is part of the required dance uniform and needs to be worn during lessons. New t-shirts are available for purchase at reception. Exceptions are - Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary. A black leotard with dance tights is preferred for these classes. (A pink leotard is available for purchase at reception for pre-ballet). Leotards are to be covered when outside the classroom.
We want our dancers to be comfortable in their chosen dancewear but we do require modesty and appropriate styles.
Strictly NO - denim, short shorts, exposed midriffs or chests, offensive logos, pictures or words.
Footwear needs to be dance genre-specific:
Ballet - pink canvas or leather ballet slippers;
Jazz - tan split-sole sneakers or leather classics;
Hip Hop - can use the same split-sole sneakers as jazz, or comfortable runners - must be DANCE ONLY!
Contemporary/Acro - bare or toe thongs
NO street-shoes, please! These can damage our flooring. All dance footwear should be removed before leaving the Studio.
CODE OF CONDUCT - Students
Respect, honesty and integrity will be expected from all students.
We encourage students NOT to chat during classes. (Although, we love how they want to connect!)
If disrespect is shown to teachers and/or staff, students may be asked to leave the class.
Appropriate clothing needs to be worn when arriving/leaving or representing the studio. - NO midriffs, short shorts, strapless or transparent clothing.
ALL long hair (whether boy or girl) MUST be tied back for hygiene reasons i.e. headlice.
Hair needs to be worn in a bun for ballet and a bun/ponytail for jazz. We need to see your face and neck for technique etc.
Jewellery, the dangly, sparkly and bulky kind, is not to be worn during class. As cool as it may look, it gets in the way.
Students need to arrive on-time for classes. It minimises disruption and ensures warm-up is included for health and safety reasons.
Appropriate dance footwear must be worn in class. Eg: Split-sole sneakers or jazz shoes for Jazz, Ballet slippers for ballet. BAREFEET ARE NOT PERMITTED IN CLASS. (Exceptions as per class)
Students under the age of 13 are not permitted to leave the premises without a parent/ guardian. Those above the age of 13 require parental/guardian permission and permission form must be signed by parent/guardian prior to student leaving. According to child safety laws, we must adhere to these rules.
Students need to address teachers and staff as ‘Miss ...’, ‘Mr…’ or ‘Mrs ...’ NOT by their first names alone.
Photos/videos of routines, performance costumes, students or groups of students are unable to be posted on social media before performances without permission from Studio3.4 Principal. This includes posting to YouTube as copyright laws are in place. We employ a professional photographer who includes for us an approved release for posting after the concert.
We have zero tolerance for bullying including but not limited to gossiping, mocking or deliberate isolation. Any student displaying this sort of behaviour may be asked to leave.
We have great rubbish bins - Please keep Studio3.4 tidy. Remember, using rubbish bins is cool!
Studio3.4 routines or performances are not to be used outside of Studio3.4 without prior permission from the principal.
Swearing, blasphemy and crude words/jokes or behaviour (in any language) will not be well received here. Please ensure you help keep everyone's ears (and eyes) free from these! Thank you in advance…
CODE OF CONDUCT - Parents/Guardians
Respect, honesty and integrity are expected. Thank you for showing everyone what this looks like. We appreciate it!
Studio3.4 reserves the right to ask a student to leave the school for inappropriate behaviour of the parent. We love when parents demonstrate respect for teachers, students and fellow parents/guardians at all times. It creates the culture we want.
Respect and follow the advice and direction of the class teacher. (They know what they’re talking about when it comes to performing arts! Phew!)
Allow children to speak for themselves when they are spoken to. It’s amazing what they come out with!
Swearing, inappropriate language, gossiping, talking negatively about others, slander or blasphemy will not be tolerated at Studio3.4 and doing so may result in being asked to leave.
Thank you for cleaning up after yourself and your children. You save us so much time! Remember… bins are cool!
Accompany your young child/ren to the toilets. We’d hate for them to get lost on the way or stuck in there!
Be aware of noise around the studios and try to keep it to a minimum.
It is YOUR responsibility to monitor your children. Please do so.
Term fees are not optional, they are compulsory.
Please note that we try to cultivate an encouraging environment for your children and want these standards to become ‘normal’ so that the future of this industry is the type of industry we are proud to be a part of. Thank you for your support and understanding in our quest.
