You must be at least 18 years old and/or the legal parent/guardian of the student(s) whom you are registering to create an account.

I am fully aware and understand that there are risks and dangers associated with dance classes which may include but are not limited to those of bodily injury and partial or total disability. The social and economic losses and/or damages which could result from these risks could be severe. I understand that these risks and dangers may be caused by the negligence of the participant or the negligence of others. I accept and assume such risks and responsibilities for the lessees and/or damages following such injury and/or disability however caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of Fringe Dance Studio, its instructors, hosts, other participants, sponsors, advertisers, officers and lessees of the premises used to conduct the event or activity and each of them, their officers, directors, agents and employees.

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of people.

Fringe Dance Studio LLC has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, Fringe Dance Studio LLC cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, Fringe Dance Studio LLC could increase your risk and your child(ren)’s risk of contracting COVID-19.

By accepting this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending Fringe Dance Studio LLC and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at Fringe Dance Studio,LLC may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, Fringe Dance Studio LLC employees, volunteers, and program participants and their families.

I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren) or myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with my child(ren)’s attendance at Fringe Dance Studio LLC or participation in any classes. On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Fringe Dance Studio LLC, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Fringe Dance Studio LLC, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any Fringe Dance Studio LLC program, class, or event.

By accepting below, I acknowledge that I have read the foregoing Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19 and understand its contents; that I am at least eighteen (18) years old and fully competent to give my consent; that I have been sufficiently informed of the risks involved and give my voluntary consent in signing it as my own free act and deed with full intention to be bound by the same, and free from any inducement or representation.

We expect our students to be on time, prepared, and present in all of their classes. ESPECIALLY, if a student signs up for the recital, we have an expectation that they maintain a high attendance rate due to the nature of the routines being GROUPS.

If a student is absent from a class, it is considered a lost class. Your tuition holds your child’s spot in the class whether they are present or not. Make-up classes are not offered, and we appreciate your efforts to attend your classes on a regular basis.

If a student is habitually tardy (more than 10 minutes), pr absent, the instructor will speak to the parent of the student and/or notify the studio owner who will then follow up with the parent.

Should Fringe Dance Studio have to cancel a class unexpectedly, then every effort will be made to coordinate a make-up opportunity. For extenuating circumstances that affect a student’s ability to regularly attend class, please contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss the situation.

To ensure you have the best possible experience at Fringe Dance Studio, we expect all students and parents to follow the code of conduct outlined below.

All parents and students recognize that Fringe Dance Studio is a stand-alone entity and not affiliated with any other schools or businesses.

Families who do not comply with our tuition policy will be charged a late fee and students may be removed from performances. External debt collection may occur when fees remain overdue, and this will be at the expense of the client.

All classes (including private lessons) are not to be disturbed unless it is an emergency.

We are unable to take responsibility for our students before or after their scheduled classes, and it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure their child is picked up and dropped off on time. In the case of an emergency or unavoidable delay, please contact the studio immediately to inform us of the situation so we can keep your child calm and safe until they can be collected.

Any complaints or issues with Fringe Dance Studio must go through the Director. Parents and students are not permitted to personally contact Fringe Dance Studio teachers with studio issues unless it has been broached with the Director first.

In the rare case of a parent or student showing disrespect or defamation to any parent, staff member or student, a meeting will be called immediately and dismissal may be considered at the discretion of the Director. Physical, mental, emotional or cyber bullying by parents, staff or students will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the studio.

Fringe Dance Studio reserves the right to change teachers or scheduling when necessary at any time throughout the year.

Choreography, costuming and studio policies remain the intellectual property of Fringe Dance Studio and may not be reproduced or sold by any students, parents or staff without permission from the Director.

At Fringe Dance Studio, we require our students to dress according to the genre of dance they are studying. If a student is not following the dress code for a particular class/rehearsal, the instructor will first issue a warning to the parent/student. If the issue continues, the instructor will notify the studio owner who will then follow up with the parent/student. It is possible that a student may be denied the opportunity to participate in class due to not following the dress code for safety and liability reasons. Please make every effort to bring your child prepared to dance class so they can be their best and that includes not only what they are wearing but their grooming and appearance. We are happy to provide recommendations of where a parent can find dance apparel/shoes. Detailed descriptions of our dress code can be found in the Studio Handbook as well as our website.

I agree to hold Fringe Dance Studio LLC (hereinafter Fringe Dance Studio) harmless from any and all claims, costs, liabilities, expenses or judgments resulting from any participation in Fringe Dance Studio programs or classes. I hereby further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Fringe Dance Studio and its staff and all officers of Fringe Dance Studio from any lawsuits and all claims. I understand that physical activities can result in injury and I agree to waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on or off studio property before, during or after classes.

Fringe Dance Studio may take photographs and/or videos of participants, individually or in groups, attending or taking part in Fringe Dance Studio programs and activities. These photographs and/or videos may appear in print or online. Students and parents consent to having photographs and/or videos taken and used for such purposes. If a student/parent does not wish himself/herself or his/her child to be photographed and/or videotaped, the parent and/or student must notify the Fringe Dance Studio staff in writing. Fringe Dance Studio students or unauthorized persons may not take photographs or videos of other students or faculty without the permission of the person(s) being photographed and/or videotaped. Fringe Dance Studio owns all rights to any photography or videography taken at the studio, offsite studio events/performances, and/or any other projects associated with the studio.

If a parent would like to drop their student(s) from classes at Fringe, it is their responsibility to complete our DROP FORM which is a Google Form that is available in our Studio Handbook within the Parent Portal, as well as on our website. All drop forms must be submitted ONLINE before 12:01am on the 1st of the month in which a student will no longer be taking classes at Fringe. Drop forms submitted after 12:01am on the 1st of the month will incur tuition for that month.

When you purchase or hire a product or service with Fringe Dance Studio, the information we may collect from you includes your name, address, telephone numbers, email addresses, medical information and perhaps credit card or bank details. It may also include details of the products and services we provide to you as well as the status of your enrollment. We only collect information directly from our students or their parents/guardians primarily for the purpose of providing services and products to you and to administer and manage invoicing and debt collection.

We may occasionally use your information to promote and market to you information which we consider may be of interest to you unless you contact us and tell us not to do so.

We will never sell or pass on any of your information to third parties unless required by government authorities or in the event of debt recovery. Any information passed on will be done so with appropriate privacy and confidentiality protection. Information is stored securely in paper or electronic form and is accessible only by authorized personnel.

If you would like to know what information we hold about you or wish to update the information, or if you wish to be removed from all further direct marketing communications, please contact the studio.

Monthly Tuition Fee

Our studio operates on a year-round schedule of classes with tuition billed on the 1st of every month. A student’s monthly tuition is based on the number of classes they are taking per week. For example, if a student is taking 1 class per week, their recurring monthly tuition is $65. If a student is taking 2 classes per week, their recurring monthly tuition is $122. We have a multi-class discount so the more classes a student takes at Fringe, the lower the average price per class.

The monthly tuition fee is based on the year, and it stays the same each month regardless of the number of weeks/classes in a month. For example, in the month of December, we are closed for 2 weeks for Winter Break, and tuition for that month is the same as every other month. Your first month at Fringe is the only month that is pro-rated; otherwise, we do not pro-rate, refund, or give discounts for any missed classes or scheduled studio closures. We provide a list of all of our scheduled studio closures on our website and we post this list in our studio.

AutoPay Policy

To make the payment process as simple as possible, parents are required to enroll in AUTOPAY. Enrolling in autopay ensures a payment is never missed, and parents can login to their Parent Portal at any time to update their card on file. If a card is declined, an email is sent to the parent letting them know that their payment did not go through. It is then the responsibility of the parent to login to their account and update the card on file as soon as possible to avoid a late fee or call the studio for assistance. NOTE: The autopay feature is ONLY used to collect fees that are billed through DanceStudio-Pro. For other fees such as a student’s costume fee(s), parents are sent separate email invoices through SQUARE and are expected to pay these bills by following the prompts in the email.

Registration Fee

A “new student” registration fee of $30/student or $50/family (2+ students) is due at the time of registration. The registration fee helps offset the administrative cost of setting up your student in our studio-class-management system and helps keep your monthly tuition costs lower. The new student registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. If a parent decides to drop their student from all of their classes at any point and then chooses to sign up for classes again at a later date, the parent is required to re-register and pay the FULL registration fee.

Annual Membership Fee

An annual membership fee of $50/student or $80/family (2+ students) is billed on September 1. The annual membership fee covers costs including, but not limited to: insurance, music license fees and studio communication costs - all separate expenses from class tuition. The annual membership fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Late Fees & Other Fees

A late fee of $25 is automatically added to all accounts owing tuition on the 8th of the month. A $25 fee is added to all bounced checks. On the 15th of the month services are suspended until tuition is paid in full.

The safety of our students and their families is a number one priority for Fringe Dance Studio. We are very serious about upholding child protection laws and policies within the studio as well as at public performances and online. As part of your registration, you will have read and signed a media release waiver allowing us to proudly use images and video footage of your student for advertising and promotional purposes. Should you have any concerns whatsoever with signing this waiver, please contact our Studio Owner. You will also have read and signed a liability statement. Fringe Dance Studio takes no responsibility for any stolen or misplaced property on the studio premises and we encourage our families to avoid bringing valuable items into the studio where possible. Fringe Dance Studio is a nut-free studio; therefore, we appreciate everyone’s efforts to follow this policy to ensure all of our students are safe.

The Social Media Policy for Fringe Dance Studio refers to all social networking sites, video/photo sharing sites, blogs, micro-blogs, wikis, podcasts, forums, instant messaging and geospatial tagging (for example, Facebook check-ins). Please see below for our regulations regarding social media and feel free to contact the studio if you have any questions.

Please remember that your anonymity on social media is never guaranteed and to exercise particular caution when posts, images or videos identify children in your care.

Remain mindful that your behavior on social media remains in keeping with Fringe Dance Studio's code of conduct as outlined in our Studio Handbook.

Any comments or posts perceived to be obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, discriminatory or hateful towards Fringe Dance Studio staff, students or families may subject the Director to take disciplinary or legal action.

Should you wish to engage on social media while identifying as a studio volunteer or employee, you may only do so with integrity, respect, and adhere to our privacy policy.

Any content revealing or referring to sensitive studio information is not allowed to be shared online. Intellectual property laws (for example, costume design and choreography) must be observed by all studio patrons when posting online.

While affiliated with our studio, (for example, images of your child in Fringe Dance Studio apparel), we will not tolerate any posts that are racially, sexually, physically or religiously offensive.

All matters pertaining directly to the studio - whether it be fees, scheduling, placements or performance opportunities - may not be communicated via social media. We have an open door policy and encourage all questions, comments, or concerns to be communicated directly.

We discourage parents / students and teachers from becoming friends or followers on social media, unless there is an existing relationship. We consider all studio members to be family and as such feel the obligation to respect and monitor personal boundaries.

Families found to be engaging in hidden or private groups formed for the specific purpose of discussing studio matters will be encouraged to start an internal email thread with the Director included.
