We expect our dancers to be on time, prepared, and present in all of their classes.
If a dancer is absent from a class, it is considered a lost class. Your tuition holds your dancer’s spot in the class whether they are present or not. Make-up classes are not offered, and we appreciate your efforts to attend your classes on a regular basis.
If a dancer is habitually tardy (more than 10 minutes), the instructor will speak to the parent of the dancer and/or notify the Director who will then follow up with the parent.
Should Fringe Dance Studio have to cancel a class unexpectedly, then every effort will be made to coordinate a make-up opportunity. For extenuating circumstances that affect a dancer’s ability to regularly attend class, please contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss the situation.
To ensure you have the best possible experience at Fringe Dance Studio, we expect all students and parents to follow the code of conduct outlined below.
All parents and students recognize that Fringe Dance Studio is a stand-alone entity and not affiliated with any other schools or businesses.
Families who do not comply with our tuition policy will be charged a late fee and students may be removed from performances. External debt collection may occur when fees remain overdue, and this will be at the expense of the client.
All classes (including private lessons) are not to be disturbed unless it is an emergency.
We are unable to take responsibility for our students before or after their scheduled classes, and it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure their child is picked up and dropped off on time. In the case of an emergency or unavoidable delay, please contact the studio immediately to inform us of the situation so we can keep your child calm and safe until they can be collected.
Any complaints or issues with Fringe Dance Studio must go through the Director. Parents and students are not permitted to personally contact Fringe Dance Studio teachers with studio issues unless it has been broached with the Director first.
In the rare case of a parent or student showing disrespect or defamation to any parent, staff member or student, a meeting will be called immediately and dismissal may be considered at the discretion of the Director. Physical, mental, emotional or cyber bullying by parents, staff or students will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the studio.
Fringe Dance Studio reserves the right to change teachers or scheduling when necessary at any time throughout the year.
Choreography, costuming and studio policies remain the intellectual property of Fringe Dance Studio and may not be reproduced or sold by any students, parents or staff without permission from the Director.
At Fringe Dance Studio, we highly encourage our students to dress according to the genre of dance they are studying. Following this guideline establishes a sense of professionalism in class, helps unify students, diminishes economic and social barriers between students, increases a sense of belonging and studio pride, and improves attendance. Most importantly, dressing according to the standards we outline below helps prepare our students to be successful dancers in college and/or career settings. Detailed descriptions of our dress code can be found in the Parent & Student Handbook as well as our website.
I agree to hold Fringe Dance Studio LLC (hereinafter Fringe Dance Studio) harmless from any and all claims, costs, liabilities, expenses or judgments resulting from any participation in Fringe Dance Studio programs or classes. I hereby further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Fringe Dance Studio and its staff and all officers of Fringe Dance Studio from any lawsuits and all claims. I understand that physical activities can result in injury and I agree to waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on or off studio property before, during or after classes.
Fringe Dance Studio may take photographs and/or videos of participants, individually or in groups, attending or taking part in Fringe Dance Studio programs and activities. These photographs and/or videos may appear in print or online. Students and parents consent to having photographs and/or videos taken and used for such purposes. If a student/parent does not wish himself/herself or his/her child to be photographed and/or videotaped, the parent and/or student must notify the Fringe Dance Studio staff in writing. Fringe Dance Studio students or unauthorized persons may not take photographs or videos of other students or faculty without the permission of the person(s) being photographed and/or videotaped. Fringe Dance Studio owns all rights to any photography or videography taken at the studio, offsite studio events/performances, and/or any other projects associated with the studio.
If you wish to withdraw your dancer from classes at Fringe Dance Studio, it is your responsibility to notify the studio in writing before the 1st of the month otherwise you will be billed as usual at your monthly tuition rate and will be expected to pay. We recommend sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org indicating which classes you will be dropping and the effective date so that you are not billed for the next month. If you choose to re-enroll, you will pay the registration fee again.

We may occasionally use your information to promote and market to you information which we consider may be of interest to you unless you contact us and tell us not to do so.
We will never sell or pass on any of your information to third parties unless required by government authorities or in the event of debt recovery. Any information passed on will be done so with appropriate privacy and confidentiality protection. Information is stored securely in paper or electronic form and is accessible only by authorized personnel.
If you would like to know what information we hold about you or wish to update the information, or if you wish to be removed from all further direct marketing communications, please contact the studio.
Tuition and all other fees are non-refundable and subject to change. For your convenience, we have made registration easily available and accessible online. Online registration is preferred at www.fringe.dance for all recurring weekly classes. The studio accepts credit and debit cards. Check and cash are also accepted forms of payment. If you would like assistance registering or to speak with us about what would be best for you/your dancer, you are welcome to visit the studio during normal business hours or email us via the website on the registration page.
A registration fee of $30 for an individual dancer or $50 per family (2+ students) is due at the time of registration. The registration fee is non-refundable and collected for every season and/or session regardless of when the dancer signs up. If the dancer takes a break and drops all classes, then they are required to re-register and pay the registration fee again.
Monthly tuition prices are based on yearly tuition. The yearly tuition is broken up into 10 monthly installments (September-June). Therefore, tuition stays the same each month regardless of whether the month has 3 or 5 weeks of classes. Your first month is the only month that is prorated; otherwise, we do not pro-rate, refund, or give discounts for any missed classes or seasonal breaks. Due to the conditions of the software we use, you will only receive the prorate for the first month if you sign up 24 hours after the class you tried; therefore, we recommend signing up the following day. We do not process registration in the studio; however, we have a QR code posted and can assist you with registration on your smartphone or other electronic device. We post a list of our Important Dates which includes when the studio is closed, and you can also find this information in the Parent Portal or on our website.
Tuition is due promptly on the 1st of each month. If you sign up mid-month, tuition will be prorated for the first month only. A late fee of $25 is automatically added to all accounts owing tuition on the 8th of the month. To make the payment process as simple as possible, we encourage you to set up “auto pay” while registering online. A $25 fee is added to all bounced checks. Statements will only be passed out in class, sent via email, or mailed to your house if tuition is late. On the 15th of the month services are suspended until tuition is paid in full. Statements will only be posted online via our parent portal.
The safety of our students and their families is a number one priority for Fringe Dance Studio. We are very serious about upholding child protection laws and policies within the studio as well as at public performances and online. As part of your registration, you will have read and signed a media release waiver allowing us to proudly use images and video footage of your student for advertising and promotional purposes. Should you have any concerns whatsoever with signing this waiver, please contact our Director. You will also have read and signed a liability statement. Please read this document carefully and sign it prior to the commencement of classes so you fully understand the rights and responsibilities of your family and our studio. Fringe Dance Studio takes no responsibility for any stolen or misplaced property on the studio premises and we encourage our families to avoid bringing valuable items into the studio where possible.
The Social Media Policy for Fringe Dance Studio refers to all social networking sites, video/photo sharing sites, blogs, micro-blogs, wikis, podcasts, forums, instant messaging and geospatial tagging (for example, Facebook check-ins). Please see below for our regulations regarding social media and feel free to contact the studio if you have any questions.
Please remember that your anonymity on social media is never guaranteed and to exercise particular caution when posts, images or videos identify children in your care.
Remain mindful that your behavior on social media remains in keeping with Fringe Dance Studio’s code of conduct as outlined in our Parent & Student Handbook.

Families found to be engaging in ‘hidden’ or ‘private’ groups formed for the specific purpose of discussing studio matters will be encouraged to start an internal email thread with the Director included.
