Studio Policies
Tuition & Fees
• August tuition (prorated 2 weeks) and September tuition will be due at the time of registration.
• There is also a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $30 due at the time of registration to ensure your child's placement in class. Additional children from the same family will be $20 each. (Returning students registration fees: $20/$15 for siblings.)
• All families will be required to enroll in Auto-Pay. Auto-payments are run on the 15th of every month for the following month. If you do not enroll in Auto-Pay, payments will be due on the 15th. Payments made after the 25th will incur a $20 late fee.
• Tuition is expected from every student regardless of their attendance. If you expect to miss half of your classes for the month (2 weeks or less) you will be required to pay your full monthly tuition. If you expect to miss a full month of classes (3 weeks or more), you will be required to pay 50% of your regular monthly tuition to keep your placement in your class(es). Students will have the opportunity to make up any missed class(es).
• Payments can be made in the form of cash, credit/debit card, or check (made out to Dance Variations). There will be a $30 charge for any returned checks. There will be a 3% credit card processing fee automatically added to all card/ACH payments.
• The studio will be closed for the following calendar holidays: Labor Day (9/4), Halloween (10/31), Thanksgiving (11/20-11/25), Christmas Break (12/25-1/6), and Spring Break (3/23-3/29). Tuition for those months will stay the same as there are multiple five-week months throughout the year that make up for classes not observed on those calendar holidays.
• Recital costume fees are $70/costume and are due in January. There is also a one-time $85 recital fee due in February.
• Any tuition and other fees paid are non-refundable. This includes, but is not limited to, registration fees, costume fees, recital fees, etc.
• Costumes will not be released to the student until all costume fees are paid. All tuition and other fees must be paid and account balance must be at $0.00 by recital in order to participate in recital.
Automatic Registration
All students will be automatically re-enrolled for classes following the 2023-24 Season moving into 2024 Summer classes and the following 2024-25 Season. If you do not wish to reenroll for either session, you must give a 60-day notice of discontinuation via email to ensure your card is not charged for tuition beyond the current season. If you would like to make updates to your child’s class registration (drop or add a class) you may do so prior to the start of the respective season.
Attendance
• Punctual attendance for each class is expected. This ensures the student gets the most out of their classes as possible.
• If a student has four (4) or more unexplained absences, he/she will be unregistered from the class. Reenrollment will require an additional registration fee.
• Consistent tardiness will not be tolerated as it is a distraction to the rest of the class. While we understand things happen, if tardiness becomes a common occurrence, the student could be charged a penalty fee, unregistered from the class, etc.
• All students must be picked up promptly after their class. If your student has not been picked up within 10 minutes of their class ending, your account will be charged $1/minute until they are picked up.
Studio Conduct
• Students and parents waiting in the lobby while class is in session must keep their volume to an absolute minimum. Excess noise and talking could become distracting to those taking class. If you feel comfortable, you are more than welcome to drop off your child and leave the lobby for the duration of the class. We have your contact information and will call you if necessary.
• Students are expected to be courteous and respectful. Bullying, harassment, or intimidation of fellow students will not be tolerated. It is important to us that we remain a judgement-free zone where dancers can feel comfortable expressing themselves through their dancing. Any display of disrespectful behavior, whether towards instructors or other students, may result in dismissal from class.
• Students must respect all studio equipment. No hanging, leaning, or pulling on ballet barres, and no touching of stereo equipment without permission of an instructor.
• Electronic devices must be silenced and kept in cubbies or in dance bags during class as they can become a distraction. Cell phones or cameras may be used at the end of class for the purpose of recording a routine, if desired.
• 3-Strike Policy: If a student is disrupting a class, they will be given three chances to correct their behavior before being asked to sit out. If disruptive behavior continues, the student may be asked to sit out of classes indefinitely until they can participate without disruptions.
Communication/Updates
• Most studio communication is done via email. Please check your emails frequently to not miss any important information.
• Updates are also given via our private Facebook group. Please search “Dance Variations Parents/Students†on Facebook and join the page!
• You may also call/text the studio cell phone at 321-298-0599. I (Ms. Alicia) am not the best at keeping the phone near me during the day, however, so email is the best way to reach me!
• If your contact info changes at all throughout the course of the season, you must either notify Ms. Alicia or change it in the student portal as soon as possible. This ensures we have the most updated contact info at the studio in case of an emergency
