Participation & Studio Rules:
Have fun and be kind!
No students or siblings should be in the studio unless enrolled in that particular class.
Students should be dressed and prepared for class before it starts.
If you arrive early for class, please have your student wait in the lobby. If your child is under the age of 7, please wait with your child in the lobby until the teacher signals for class to begin. Students should not be left to play in the lobby space before class.
No food is allowed in the dance studio. Water in a sealed container is allowed.
Chewing gum is never allowed in the room.
No horseplay, running, or displaying of "tricks" or "flexibility" before or after class. This is for the safety of the student and other students.
Parents/guardians should not leave young students unattended in the lobby area before or after class.
Parents and students should not roam the building or enter either of the studios. Please wait in the lobby to the gym or outside of the facility until your class begins or ends.
Always treat your teacher, any teacher assistants, and fellow classmates with respect and kindness.
Attendance: Good attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class. Students should be prompt and prepared for class.
Dress Code: Hair should always be securely pulled away from the face for all classes with the exception of hip-hop classes. Please see individual class description for required attire. Required attire and colors specified for clothing and shoes should be treated as the child’s uniform and is necessary for an authentic dance class experience.
Drop-off/Pick-up: Use the single door facing Main Street only. Please do not use other doors to enter and exit the building unless otherwise notified.
Bad Weather / Holidays: The studio will not necessarily close for snow days. If in doubt check the UMF Family Network Facebook group or the DSP chat or email manager@umfstudio.com. If classes are canceled, it will be posted on the Facebook page and chat. Classes that fall on a holiday will not be rescheduled or refunded.
Class Make-up Policy: If your child misses a class, it is not guaranteed they can make-up the class. Contact the front desk to discuss make-up options. If class is cancelled due to weather or for any other unforeseen reason, it is not guaranteed the class will be rescheduled and you will not be refunded for cancelled. A Friday evening or Saturday morning may be used to make-up classes due to an abundance of weather related cancellations (this option is not guaranteed).
