Centre Pointe Studio Policies
Discipline Policy
To have a successful and productive dance class, the teacher must consistently focus on discipline, class protocol, and individual student behavior in order to best provide an environment
whereby every dancer can learn.
A letter requesting parental support will be sent to parents of students who continually struggle to listen and behave appropriately during class time. CPDS asks that parents reinforce with their
performer the importance of good listening skills in order to reap the best from their dance class. In extreme circumstances, it may be suggested that the student leave class until they have
developed the necessary skills to participate in a dance activity. It is with these principles in mind that CPDS has a clearly defined studio code of conduct. Student discipline, politeness, and grace
of students have been consistently commented upon by external examiners and it is with this in mind that CPDS continues to promote the very best behavior in what is hoped to be a nurturing
environment where each learner is respected as an individual. Students are required to treat all members of staff, fellow students and visiting parents with mutual respect at all times.
All students are instructed in correct dance class and examination protocol in preparation for external examinations and in readiness for participation in internal and external workshops.
