Cadance Academy Policies and Procedures 2019/2020
Enrollment: I understand that I/my child is not enrolled in any class until payment has been received. Once payment has been received student will be registered, confirmed and reserved for their desired class/es.
At time of Registration: A non-refundable registration fee of $25 per family, a per class costume deposit and first and last month tuition fees. There will also be a $15.00 Digital Recital Download fee per family. This will allow each family access to download the year-end recital performance.
Payment of Fees: If tuition is paid in full at time of registration, a 10% discount will be applied to the tuition. You may also make monthly payments for tuition via our convenient monthly tuition payment plans. Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month (October to May) unless other arrangements have been made. All fees and tuition are subject to HST.
Payments may be made via cheque, debit or cash (in the office), credit (online or in the office) or Email Transfer to info@CadanceAcademy.ca. Registration fee, Digital Download Fee, costume deposit, first and last months tuition is due at time of registration. Thereafter payments will be due on the 1st day of each month from October 2019 to May 2020. On December 1, please expect another transaction for the balance due on the costume(s). All NSF accounts will be charged a $25.00 bank/administration fee which will be added to the outstanding amount. Outstanding monthly accounts will be subject to late fees of 2% per month.
June Recital Fees *per child, per class: A costume deposit is due at time of registration. The balance of the costume fee will be processed on December 1. Should you drop a class and not require the costume, please contact the office as soon as possible to determine its order status. If your costume has not been ordered, 50% of your deposit will be refunded and you will not be billed remaining balance. We order costumes from late October to mid December. Please note the following policies on costume refunds and distribution:
**Costumes will not be ordered if accounts are not up date by Dec. 15th
**Costumes will not be distributed to students if accounts are not up to date.
**No costume fees will be refunded once costume has been ordered, however we will let you know when it arrives so it can be picked up.
**These policies will be strictly enforced.
Withdrawal: If withdrawing from a course, one-month notice is required. Withdrawal must be done in person to the office manager at the Academy office at which time a course withdrawal form will be filled out and will require the students parents signature to be finalized. All automatic bank debiting or credit card charges will stop after the one-month notice period. Cadance Academy reserves the right to terminate enrollment of any student without notice. In such a case a refund for unused classes will be given.
Complimentary Recital Tickets: Each family will receive two complimentary tickets to the year-end recital. These two tickets are meant for the person who is paying for the student/s tuition. You can choose to have both tickets for one of the performances, or you may decide to have one ticket for each performance.
Cancellations due to Weather: Cancellation of Cadance Academy classes will be at the discretion of the Academy and will be posted on the Magic 94.9 FM website, in the Parent Portal and Cadance's Facebook page. Each family will also receive notification of the cancellation via your preferred form of communication (stated on enrollment form). If there are more than two cancellations, make-up classes for subsequent cancelled lessons will be offered at times designated by the Academy office, and students will be notified of such make-up classes by e-mail. No refunds for classes missed due to these reasons will be given.
Substitutions: The school reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes. However, if a teacher is unavailable and the school cannot arrange a substitute, any missed classes will be made up.
Dress Code: Required dance wear and dance shoes are required for all classes. Failure to wear required dance wear to class may result in students being asked to sit out the class. Repeated failure to wear required dance wear may result in termination of lessons. Students are not permitted to wear jeans or shoes worn on the street or outdoors to any dance class. For safety reasons dancers are not permitted to wear jewelry. Long hair must be tied back.
Attendance and Lateness: Students are expected to arrive on time for class. If a student misses more than 4 consecutive classes without written notices the student may not be permitted to participate in the year-end dance recital.
Parent’s Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events: It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all school activities, such as viewing days, recitals, extra classes, and dates the Academy is open or closed. The school will post this information via the Parent Portal, the Academy Calendar, the Cadance Academy Facebook page, as well as communicating these dates and events via your chosen form of communication. It is the parent’s responsibility to regularly check postings (email, online student profile and studio postings) to ensure they are informed. It is the responsibility of the parents or adult students to update contact information via the Parent Portal settings.
Care of Students: The school is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. Parents with students under the age of 4 are to remain at the studio during their child/ren's class time.
Injuries: Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after class time.
