Release of Liability
IT IS UNDERSTOOD that in dance, as in any physical activity, there is an inherent risk of injury. By acknowledging this document, the parent or legal guardian acknowledges that this risk is present in the student’s dance class and will not hold ADAGIO DANCE CENTER or any representative of ADAGIO DANCE CENTER responsible for any such injury. Furthermore, the parent/legal guardian and student should make known to the instructor and the studio director any past injuries, or medical conditions that could affect the performance of the student in class.
Code of Conduct
Every dancer will need to be respectful of all students and teachers. We will not tolerate any physical or verbal abuse, including "name calling" or "bullying" by any student. If a student disrupts the safety of other students in the class they will be asked to leave without refund. All students must also show respect to the property of others. Any intentional damage to or theft of such property or class equipment will not be tolerated and could result in the student's dismissal from class without refund. All ADC dance teachers will make sure the classroom is a safe environment by upholding these rules and regulations. If a student does not abide by these rules they may be asked to discontinue dance classes until they can use appropriate behavior. At any time, we reserve the right to refuse service based on the above mentioned. Inappropriate behavior, negative comments/attitude and/or demeaning comments/attitude made by a parent and/or student will not be tolerated and the dancer will be immediately excused from the studio. This includes substance abuse while attending classes, events and representing ADC from both dancers and parents.
Fall Tuition Policy

Unlimited Classes* $250 per month
Family Unlimited** $350 per month
*The unlimited class package is per dancer enrolled in more than five(5) 1 hour classes per week.
** The family unlimited class package is for an immediate family (siblings) enrolled in more than seven(7) 1 hour classes per week.
10 Month Payment Plan: Families selecting this monthly payment option are required to make a payment on or before the 1st of each month from September through June.
Bi-Annual Payment Plan: Families selecting this option are required to make two(2) payments during the year. Tuition payments are due on or before the 1st of September and the 1st of February. The first payment will cover the months from September until January. The second payment will cover the months from February through June. Families selecting this option will also receive a 5% discount on the total tuition for the year.
Advanced Payment Plan: Families selecting this option are required to make one(1) payment at the time of registration that covers the total tuition for the months of September through June. Families selecting this option will also receive a 10% discount on the total tuition for the year.

1. Tuition:
Tuition is due by the 1st of each month. If you decide to pay with a credit card, we can place you on Auto Pay which will charge your card automatically on the 1st of each month.
If you chose to pay by cash or check, payments must be made in an envelope and handed to the ADC lobby desk attendant. Please do not place tuition payments in the outside mailbox or just leave it at the front desk without giving it to an ADC staff member. If you chose to pay with a credit or debit card, a 3.25% convenience fee is added to all payments online. This fee is not charged by ADC, but is a fee that is charged by the credit card company. In the event that a credit/debit card is refused or returned as un-payable, the customer will be responsible for full transaction charges plus any fees charged by the banking establishment to Adagio Dance Center. In the event a check is returned a $40 fee will be assessed to any returned checks. In the event the check is returned, the customer will be notified immediately and will have 5 business days to submit a new payment plus the $40 returned check fee.
Tuition rate is constant; some months have less than 4 weeks and others five. We offer 3 payment plan options and tuition is based on an annual basis, broken up into payments for the convenience of our families. The tuition does not change. ADC is not responsible for studio closure due to inclement weather or an act of god. Also, the tuition amount does not change if the student is absent. (See Absences).
2. Late Fee:
Tuition is considered late if not paid by the 7th. You may pay for classes early if you know that you will miss the first week of class. If tuition is not paid by the 7th of any given month, a late fee of $15 will be assessed. If an account is more than 30 days past due, the student will be excused from classes until the account is brought current. If an account is more than 90 days past due, the student will be excused from the studio until the account is brought current. If an account is more than 120 days past due, the account will be turned over to collections.
3. Refund Policy:
There are NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS that will be given for tuition, registration fees, recital tickets, recital costumes, and any tuition related fees.
4. Registration Fee:
There is a one-time registration fee per dancer or family. The fees are as follows:
One Dancer $30
Two Dancers $40
Three+ Dancers $45
If this fee is not paid by the first tuition due date (September 11th), then your child will be dropped from their class. This is a non-refundable fee. Please note that if your card is on auto-pay with us, this fee will automatically be taken out on the 7th with your child's tuition.
5. Pro-rating:
We do not prorate classes for existing students. NO EXCEPTIONS.
6. Cancellation of classes:
I understand and agree that Adagio Dance Center reserves the right to cancel any or all classes. Should a class be cancelled, we will provide an acceptable replacement.
Performance/Costume Policy
Adagio Dance Center must be informed by October 1st if your child for any reason cannot perform in the Annual Performance. Students are required to attend classes on a regular basis, any student missing more than 15 classes will not be permitted to participate in the performance. If a student cannot perform in the Annual Performance and notifies ADC after October 1st, all costume payments and fees will be forfeited and are non-refundable.
All outstanding balances on accounts are due by June 1st or your costumes will not be given out and your child will not be permitted to perform in the Annual Performance. Any outstanding account balances must be paid in cash, money order, or credit/debit card. No personal checks will be accepted after June 8th.
Referral Program Policy
For every student that is referred to us and registers for the year, the family who gave the referral will receive a $25 credit on their account. The amount of credits you can receive is unlimited, so please refer as many new students as you can. There will be referral cards at the front desk, so please ask for them and hand them out.
Please note: the referral must register and stay enrolled for the full season to receive the credit.
Dance Education Trophy Policy
All 5th, 10th, & 15th year trophies give out at our Annual Performance will be based upon consecutive years of dance education attendance. This means that students will be eligible for a dance education trophy ONLY if they have attended dance classes for consecutive years with no breaks. If there was a break, then the years attended resets from when they start classes again.
Costume & Performance Fees
Performance Fee is $60. It includes an Official Performance T-shirt, a Digital Copy of the Performance, a Performance Medal and a Special Surprise.

*Please note that footwear and tights are not included in the price for costumes. Tights are only included in the Combo class costumes (Ages 3-7). In January, you will be given a style number for both footwear and tights for your child’s routines. It will be your responsibility to order the correct items and have them before May 1st.
Costume Payment Policy
50% Deposit, along with the $50 performance fee is due by November 15th. This payment is mandatory and must be submitted to be able to perform in the Annual Performance.
50% Balance is due by January 15th. This payment is mandatory and must be submitted by the deadline in order to finalize ADC’s order and to guarantee timely delivery of our costumes. Most manufacturers will not ship costumes unless they are paid in full.
Any late payments on costumes will require the costume manufacturer to ship that costume separately. Separate shipping is approximately $10-15, depending on the manufacturer. Depending when the separate order is placed, some manufacturers charge separate rush order fees. Those who make late payments will be responsible for the separate shipping and potential rush order fees. ADC will communicate what those fees are, if a late costume payment is made.
Absence Policy
If a student is absent, the parent or student needs to contact ADC prior to the class. Additionally, it is the policy of ADAGIO DANCE CENTER not to return tuition payments for lessons not fulfilled. If it is necessary for the student to be excessively absent, other arrangements may need to be made with the director or assistant directors to set up private classes with the student. Students are required to attend classes on a regular basis, any student missing more than 15 classes will not be permitted to participate in the performance. As payment is still due, on rare occasions it may be preferable for the student to withdraw and re-enroll at a later date, however, the student’s place in class may be forfeited to a prospective student. If a student misses a class and would like to make up the class, please contact the studio director.
Make-up Class Policy
Your student has the option to make up a scheduled class due to an excused absence.
Excused Absences are:
-Severe injury or death in the family
-Severe personal injury
-Seriously ill requiring a doctor’s visit
-Scheduled school programs or performances
-Wedding or religious event
-Vacation
They may make up the dance class by taking the same class at a different time. Please visit or contact the front desk to determine the right class. Refunds will not be issued for missed classes. Class make ups can only be used when the student is enrolled in the class. If your student decides to drop for any reason and returns after any amount of time, your student will no longer be eligible to use their class make up. Class make-ups must be completed within the month of the missed class. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Dis-enrollment Policy
If the student needs to be dis-enrolled Adagio Dance Center requires a written notification prior to the first of the following month or tuition is due for that month. If the student misses more than 2 weeks and tuition is delinquent, Adagio Dance Center reserves the right to withdraw the student from the class and give said student’s position in the class to another waiting student. Tuition will still be due for ALL unfulfilled classes. No refunds will be given for any students who have trouble adjusting to a dance class setting, are removed from the class for behavior issues, cry and refuse to go in or other behavioral reasons.
Social Media Policy
Parents and dancers need to be mindful of what they are posting on social media; once it is out there on the internet it is hard to retract. We encourage positive comments and pictures of our ADC family. Cyber bulling, negative comments and illicit behavior will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal from ADC or result in refusal of service. We also ask our families to not post any full videos of our choreography. We want a great experience for everyone please be mindful and respectful to that.
No Distribution or Solicitation Policy
ADC prohibits the solicitation, distribution and posting of materials on property by any ADC family/dancer or non-ADC family/dancer, except if allowed by an ADC Staff Member. This includes soliciting ADC Staff, Dancers or Family members for money, donations or items for personal gain. If this policy is violated the dancer and parent will be excused from the studio immediately.
Medical Emergencies
I fully understand that Adagio Dance Center’s instructors, agents, and employees are not physicians or medical practitioners of any kind. With the above in mind, I hereby release and grant permission to the Adagio Dance Center’s Staff to render temporary first aid to my child in the event of any injury or illness, and if deemed necessary by the Adagio Dance Center Staff to call a doctor to seek medical help, including transportation by an Adagio Dance Center member, whether paid or volunteer, to any health care facility or hospital, or the calling of an ambulance for said child should the Adagio Dance Center Staff deem this to be necessary.
Level Placement Policy
Adagio Dance Center and it’s instructors will place students in classes. We feel it is more important that the children are in the correct level of class, then making sure a student is with their exact age group. We ask that for your respect in regards to our expertise in placing students in classes. We desire to see every student grow and achieve the most within our classes. When a class is too challenging, they may not be able to grasp and learn proper technique. Likewise, when it is too easy, a student may not grow as a dancer.
Dress Code Policy
This dress code policy is strictly enforced; all dancers will be expected to follow and adhere to the guidelines. Any dancer not dressed accordingly for the class will be asked to sit the class out and watch. Students will have until October 1st to be in proper dress code.
For all classes hair must be pulled off of the face, in a ponytail or bun, and absolutely no jewelry may be worn. Both are safety hazards. (A Bun is MANDATORY for ALL Ballet classes)
Ballet
All ballet classes are required to wear long sleeve, short sleeve, or camisole black leotard, theatrical pink tights and theatrical pink canvas ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled back into a neat bun. No shorts or loose hanging clothing will be permitted in ballet class. No attached skirts are permitted. It is up to the class instructor to allow attached ballet skirts.
Combo Classes
All combination classes are required to wear a leotard and tights, in black or pink ONLY. They must wear pink ballet shoes and black patent leather tap shoes. No shorts, skirts, attached skirts or loose hanging clothing will be permitted.
Jazz/Musical Theater
All jazz classes are required to wear a black leotard, black sports bra, black jazz shorts or pants, black tights and black jazz shoes. No tan or flesh colored tights, loose fitting tops or bottoms will not be permitted. Please note: depending on the dance routine, Levels 1-4 may require tan shoes or pedinis or heels. (Depending on the level)
Tap
All tap classes are required to wear a black leotard or black sports bra, black jazz shorts or leggings, black tights and black oxford tap shoes. (Ages 8 & up require lace up oxford tap shoes and dancers may wear ADC shirts)
Modern/Contemporary/Progressing Ballet Technique/Technique
All modern classes are required to wear a black leotard/unitard, black footless tights or leggings, and no shoes will be worn. No t-shirts, loose fitting tops or bottoms will be permitted. In the colder months, form fitting warm ups are allowed during warm up only.
Lyrical
All lyrical classes are required to wear a black leotard, theatrical pink footless tights, and turning shoes. No t-shirts, loose fitting tops or bottoms will be permitted.
Hip-Hop
All hip-hop dancers will be required to wear a black leotard, black jazz shorts and tights, black sweatpants or yoga pants as long as they conform to the dancer’s body. Black Jazz sneakers are required. No street shoes or clothes are permitted to be worn. T-shirts may be worn at the discretion of the dance instructor on the floor. Depending on the class, black boots may be required.
Video and Photograph Release
I understand and agree that Adagio Dance Center reserves the right to take and use videos and photos of participants, to be used for publicity purposes in Adagio Dance Center’s annual dance recital program and/or other media publications.
Private Lesson Policy
Students with an outstanding studio account balance will not be permitted to take private lessons until tuition balance is paid in full.
The private lesson must be paid prior to the private and and given to the instructor at the time of the lesson. If the student arrives for a private lesson without the payment, the student will not be permitted to take the lesson.
If you need to cancel your lesson for any reason, you must contact your instructor at least 2 hours prior to your lesson time.
Any lessons cancelled with less than 2 hours notice will result in the dancer being charged the full private lesson fee. Any lessons canceled with less than 4 hours notice will result in the dancer being charged half of their lesson fee. Remember, your instructor is making special arrangements to get to the studio early or stay late in order to teach your private lesson
General Notices
1. Any parent or guardian displaying conduct which is non-conducive to a “drama free†dance studio, such as foul language, yelling, disrupting the class, inappropriate conduct toward another child or parent or threatening words or actions towards anyone at the studio (student, parent or ADC Staff) will not be tolerated. That family will be immediately asked to leave the studio, and all payments made will not be refunded. NO EXCEPTIONS.
2. All choreography, lessons and movement taught is artistic property of ADC. If you would like to use any of the artistic property outside of ADC sanctioned performances, classes or competitions; you will need to receive approval by the ADC studio director. If the artistic property is used without permission, the organization will be contacted immediately and further action will be taken.
3. No one is permitted to enter the classroom during instruction except for emergencies. Lobby guests are asked to use the bathroom facilities in the lobby. We also ask all students to use the bathroom facilities before and after classes. All younger students must be taken to the bathroom by their parents/guardians before classes begin.
4. The classroom door will remained closed during instruction. Students arriving for the next class are not permitted to enter the classroom until their class is called.
5. We ask that all students arrive 10-15 minutes early to stretch and prepare themselves for class.
6. We ask that all guests in the lobby to be respectful for the class in session. Please make sure that you silence your cell phones and keep conversation low and to a minimum.
7. If you need to speak with the class instructor, we ask that you wait until after the class has ended or make an appointment.
8. Dress code will be strictly enforced. All dancers will be required to dress according to the ADC Dress Code Policy by October 1st. Street clothes or shoes are not permitted in any dance classes, at any level. Hair also must be pulled away from the face, in a ponytail or bun. Buns are required for ballet and lyrical. Students who do not dress in the proper attire or have proper hair for the class they are in, will be asked to sit out of the class that day.
9. Dancers need to come to class prepared with no only in proper dress code and footwear, but with plenty of water.
