The following rules and regulations have been established to ensure a peaceful, safe and productive
atmosphere at AVK Dance Studio. The Code of Conduct is intended to be detailed guides for students
and their families. Students are required to sign off on and abide by these rules and regulations while on
the school premises and when acting as an outside representative of AVK Dance Studio. Non-compliance
with or violation of any part of these rules and regulations may result in reprimand, suspension from
class, probation, or dismissal from AVK Dance Studio. AVK Dance Studio, in its sole discretion, will
determine the appropriate disciplinary action.
AVK Dance Studio will not tolerate any of the following:
ï‚· All forms of dishonesty, including but not limited to supplying false information to any studio
official, forgery, unauthorized use of studio documents, or theft of official studio documents.
 Theft of or tampering with another person’s property or property of AVK Dance Studio. Theft
or unauthorized use of school telephones, computers, or office supplies.
ï‚· Trespassing after business hours
ï‚· Vandalism or tampering with security devices or fire safety equipment.
ï‚· Physical abuse, sexual abuse, threats, intimidation, coercion, commission of any violent act,
and/or other conduct which threatens or endangers the health or safety of another person.
ï‚· Harassment of another person, whether physical or sexual, spoken, or written.
ï‚· Discrimination of another person based on their race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual
orientation, national origin, age, citizenship or any other characteristic protected by law.
ï‚· Engaging in, or inciting others to engage in, lewd, licentious, or disorderly conduct.
ï‚· Failure to comply with the rules and regulations set forth within AVK Dance Studio.
ï‚· Unauthorized presence on studio property if dismissed due to failure to comply with the rules
set forth herein.
ï‚· Non-compliance with the artistic decisions made by AVK Dance Studio staff, faculty and guest
artists.
ï‚· Cell phone usage in studio.
All students must observe the following expectations of classroom and building
etiquette:
1. Be focused and ready to learn which means refraining from texting, talking, Facebooking, emailing,
web surfing, tweeting, etc.
2. Be silent in class. Only the instructor gives notes/corrections or answer questions.
3. Please refrain from chewing gum.
4. No eating or drinking anything in the studios other than water in a plastic container.
5. No loud and boisterous behavior in front of the building.
6. Ask and wait for the instructor’s permission before exiting class.
7. Be respectful and have a positive attitude toward your instructors or fellow dancers.
8. No unruly behavior in the dressing rooms.
9. Keep areas clear at all times. Do not leave your belongings in the middle of the hallways.
10. Students must be dressed in street clothes, sweat pants, or other cover-ups when leaving the studio.
Technical progress: Students are expected to demonstrate/work towards technical progress. Students
are expected to have the highest level of focus and commitment, as well as the ability to retain
corrections and material (this mostly applies to the older dancers).
Artistic progress: Students are expected to demonstrate or work towards notable artistic progress in
areas of dynamics, musicality, projection and phrasing.
Other areas: Students are expected to exhibit the highest level of work ethic. Students must
demonstrate proper classroom etiquette and observe the dress code and other rules and regulations of the school
