By attending class at NSSPA, you are agreeing to the following procedures and policies. Thank you for your cooperation.
Tuition:
For the main season (September - Spring Recital), tuition is due on the first of each month. Tuition for summer programs, workshops or other specialty classes is due upon registration.
First month’s tuition for the main season is due upon registration.
Tuition can be paid online by card in the DPS Portal or by card, cash or check during advertised or posted class hours.
A $10 late fee will be added on the 10th of each month, and a subsequent $10 late fee every ten business days thereafter.
Account holders are financially responsible for all classes past their registration date regardless of student attendance.
Students are considered enrolled in a class until the account holder drops the class from their DSP account. Email us at nextstepperformingarts@gmail.com for assistance.
All tuition and fees are posted inside the Dance Studio Pro Portal, and statements are emailed to the account on file once a month.
Missed Classes:
Snow Days: For the first two snow days, we will publish a Friday makeup date on the cancelled day. For additional snow days, account holders may schedule a makeup class as they would for an absence. (See Attendance Policy)
Students out of dress code may be denied entry to class for safety reasons. No refunds will be given.
Individuals who refuse to follow state or federal safety mandates regarding COVID-19 will be denied entry to the building and no refunds will be given.
Attendance Policy:
Students are expected to arrive on time and ready for class out of respect for staff and fellow students.
Account holders are financially responsible for all classes past their registration date regardless of student's attendance.
Make Up Classes: Students may make up a missed class in a similarly leveled class of any genre. All make-ups must be approved and pre-scheduled by a staff member. Please email nsspaterry@gmail.com to set up a make up class.
Programming:
Next Step Studio of the Performing Arts reserves the right to apply criteria for entering, participating in or completing any program at any time, including but not limited to: dance, music, acting or performance technique, age, behavior and/or conduct, ability to complete tasks directly related to a specific program.
COVID-19 Policy:
All students, staff, parents, family members, caretakers and spectators must comply with any state or federally mandated guidelines regarding COVID-19. Those out of compliance will not be able to attend or participate in Next Step Studio of the Performing Arts events or programs.
Dress Code:
A detailed dress code is provided in the DSP Parent Portal in the 'Documents and Files' section of the "More" tab.
For safety reasons, students may not be admitted to class if they are out of dress code.
Supervision Policy:
Students in classes starting at 4:30pm or earlier may get off the bus from QRHS or Ruggles Lane Elementary School Monday-Thursday. We do not offer a bus stop on Fridays. Students under 14 using bus drop off must fill out and return the bus drop form (available in the DSP Portal under More> Documents and Files) and return it VIA EMAIL to nextstepperformingarts@gmail.com.
There is no playing, waiting, or loitering on the front lawn of the building due to classes running in the front room.
Students ages 8 and under must be escorted in and out of the building. Students ages 8 and under may not be left unattended if they have a waiting period between classes.
Students under age five must have a caretaker available for the duration of their class time. If the caretaker needs to leave the building, please alert the receptionist.
NSSPA staff reserve the right to request a student of any age be escorted to and from class by a caretaker.
We do not allow parents or guardians into the classroom for students higher than Level 1. It is common practice that parents will be invited into the doorway to view a routine or specific achievement. These viewings are informal and unscheduled but occur roughly every 3-7 weeks.
Neighborhood policies:
There is no driveway drop off, pick up or parking at any time.
No dropping off, picking up, or turning around in our neighbors driveways.
Please use the public parking on Common St. (in front of Barre Savings Bank and Barre Players Theater.) If the Common Street parking is full, please use the parallel parking on South Street. We have easy access parking spaces and waiting space available for those with mobility issues. If you would like access to these services, please email nsspaterry@gmail.com to get issued a pass.
Student Conduct:
Students will demonstrate respect and kindness to all students, staff and property.
Students will come to class prepared with the proper shoes, clothing, and attitude.
Students will participate in all parts of class to the best of their ability.
Bullying or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
No running or roughhousing in the studio or on studio property.
No students under age 12 may be in a classroom without an adult present.
Parent Conduct:
Parents will demonstrate respect and kindness to all students, teachers, and property.
Parents will do their best to help their student come to class prepared with the proper shoes, clothing, and attitude.
Bullying or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
Parents will remember that conversation topics on NSSPA property or at NSSPA events should be age appropriate and family friendly. Thank you for helping us create a safe and positive environment for all our students.
Dismissal Policy:
If a student or family fails to adhere to any of the elements listed above, they may be subject to removal from the studio by the studio director. No refunds will be given.
Family Expectations Understanding:
By attending programming at Next Step Studio of the Performing Arts (82 Common St Barre, MA 01005), all participants, guardians and spectators agree to the policies and expectations as written above.
