GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation
From 25th May 2018 the European Union’s new privacy law came into effect, GDPR - the General Data Protection Regulation. This law means that all companies have had to change the way they deal with your personal details.
At Georgina Pay School of Dance (GPSD), we are compliant with this new law and as such need to make you aware of the way in which we as a Ballet school will store and use any personal data kept on you and your child.
On joining GPSD you as parents/carers complete a Registration Document which requires details of the student’s address, parents phone number, date of birth, email addresses and student’s allergies/health related information. These details are stored electronically and can only be accessed by Georgina Pay School of Dance staff by way of password.
Students details are not shared with third parties unless it is required, for the purpose, of an exam, or to perform in a public place, in which case we are compliant with this as required by the local authority for performance licensing, or the Royal Academy of Dance for examinations.
Georgina Pay School of Dance (GPSD) will use the contact details as given on the Registration document to make contact, with you as parents where necessary, via emails, telephone, and post.
The GPSD teaching staff will have access to your emergency contact details and your child’s emergency health related information (where applicable) in order, to keep your child safe whilst in their care.
We will not be using surnames when posting photos of students on our social media (Facebook & Instagram) and likewise will no longer be able to use a student’s full name on class Rota’s and Registers.
Exam certificates will now need to be given out in sealed envelopes with only the first OR last name printed on the envelope.
From now, there will only be a general list for exam results, containing only the exam grades and the standards achieved by ‘x’ amount, of students published.
