Policies & Procedures:
Customer Portal:
Each family has access to their 804 Studio Portal where they can conveniently register for classes, view transactions statements, make payments, and more. Please keep all contact information and billing details up to date.
Cancelled Classes:
Classes with less than four students enrolled at the start of classes may be cancelled, combined, or rescheduled at 804 Dance Place’s discretion. We will do our best to find solutions to cancelled classes which work for each and every student and family. Refunds will be given for cancelled classes or camps due to low enrollment.
New Students:
We strive to place each NEW student in the appropriate level. At the discretion of the instructor, class recommendations may occur during the first week of classes.
Make Up Classes:
Dancers unable to attend a regularly scheduled class due to vacation, illness, injury, or family emergency may arrange a make up class by contacting info@804danceplace.com. Tuition will not be prorated due to missed classes. Summer programs, camps, and intensives are non-refundable. A credit will be applied to account for missed days due to illness or schedule conflicts.
Withdrawal from Class:
Registering for classes is a commitment to the entire summer program. Please email info@804danceplace.com to submit a withdraw request.
Substitutes:
804 Dance Place reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach. 804 substitutes are highly qualified and will follow the class curriculum and standards we value at 804 Dance Place.
Inclement Weather:
Closings due to weather events will be posted on social media, sent via email, and a message will be placed on the studio’s voicemail. Make up classes or dates will be offered to students. Follow 804 on social media @804danceplace.
Student Wellness at Drop Off & Pick Up:
The safety of your child is our main priority. All young dancers ages 8 and younger must be escorted to and from the building and will not be released to waiting cars in the parking lot. All 804 dancers (regardless of age) must wait in the lobby during pick up times. No exceptions.
Attendance:
The best way to get the most out of your dance education is to be present in class. Repetition is important for developing both the technical and artistic sides of the dancer, therefore, attendance at all scheduled classes and dress rehearsals is important. If a class or rehearsal is missed due to illness, school or religious function, or a death in the family, a make-up class may be taken within the same semester in which the absence occurred.
Injuries & Illness:
In the event of an injury in or outside of the classroom, dancers should let their instructor know as soon as possible. If an injury persists or you’re unable to dance, dancers should seek the advice of a medical professional and present a doctor’s note explaining diagnosis and prognosis so instructors can make modifications to the movement so as to not create further injury and allow dancers to observe class. For the safety and health of our dancers and staff, dancers should not attend class if they are ill.
Dress Code:
All dancers are expected to follow the dress code. Dance shoes should only be worn inside the studio. When leaving 804, please change into your street shoes. Street shoes are not allowed in the studio rooms. For detailed dress code information, view DRESS CODE under waivers in portal.
Class Etiquette:
All dancers are expected to go above and beyond when following all studio guidelines and class policies. No chewing gum, food, or drink (except closed water bottles) in the classrooms. Use the bathroom BEFORE class begins to avoid disruptions. No cell phones are allowed in the dance studio. All phones need to be placed inside a dance bag and silenced. Refrain from talking or whispering while the teacher is talking. Listen first, then ask relevant questions. Come prepared by reviewing choreography before class and be attentive while waiting your turn and by applying corrections. Reserve sitting for the lobby area and negative emotions should remain outside of the studio and never expressed on social media. All 804 students are expected to take class productively and are in charge of their own motivation, purpose, and energy in the classroom. All 804 students should ALSO have a desire and enthusiasm to learn and grow and push themselves to be better.
