RDM Disciplinary Policy
We have designed a progressive discipline policy for instructors to follow in the classroom. This policy follows a 3-strike rule both in the classroom, called micro strikes or offenses, and macro strikes or offenses. The third strike in the classroom for a student in a single class period will result in the student being removed from the remainder of the class time and will require a brief conversation with the instructor following the class.
If a student or group of students is showing problematic behavior during class without a willingness to stop or redirect the behavior, a strike will be issued acting as a warning. If the student continues, a second verbal strike with movement will be issued, such as push-ups, sit-ups, or asking the student to walk to the water fountain and return to class in two minutes composing themselves. If their behavior is still problematic, instructors will then ask the student to sit out the rest of the class and their parents will be notified.
If the problem is a group of students or the collective class, the recommendation is a first verbal strike. The second strike will result in assigned movement, such as 25 push-ups or sit-ups, where everyone must complete the exercise. This will encourage the class to collectively reduce negative behavior and maintain positive class culture so that group discipline does not occur in the future. If the group of students continues to be a problem, they will be removed from the class, separating them throughout the studio space. Following class, the instructor will have a brief conversation with the students and parents.
Going beyond the day-to-day classroom discipleship and positive class culture maintenance, a 3-strike macro policy is in place. Multiple micro strikes result in a macro strike. If a student is removed or separated from the class multiple times due to problematic behavior, a conversation between the Chapter Director and the student will occur. This discussion will focus on getting to the root of the problem to encourage responsibility, respect, and accountability. This is the final intervention before our final strike, which would prohibit the student from being able to perform in upcoming performances.
If a student is visibly under the influence, the student will be asked to leave classroom and parents will be notified immediately. A conversation will be required between the family and the Chapter Director before the student is allowed to return for the next class.
We are here for you and want to support you as issues arise. We hope you all feel supported by our administrative team to experience a successful, fun, and productive session with us!

Family/ Student Agreement
I have read and understand the 3-strike progressive disciplinary policy. I agree to uphold the policy and maintain respect and positive behavior and language in class. If I do not follow the rules, I understand the outlined discipline will occur.
