At Westmoreland Youth Ballet, our goal is to inspire and encourage young dancers to pursue artistic excellence. We strive for professionalism in all that we do. We aim to build character and teach life­long lessons as well as to train students to dance and perform to the best of their ability.

Westmoreland Youth Ballet is a place for everyone to feel safe to learn and enjoy the experience of dance. All dancers have strengths and weaknesses and should feel the freedom to express their strengths and improve their weaknesses. Dancers should support each other and never look down on someone who is not at the same level. Gossiping and intolerance is a form of bullying that is unacceptable at Westmoreland Youth Ballet. At Westmoreland Youth Ballet we take responsibility to care for and be accepting of those around us. The only thing that should occur in dance class is dance instruction. Older, more experienced dancers should keep in mind that the younger dancers look to them as role models and should behave in a mature, responsible manner that promotes unity among all dancers.

Excessive talking and/or any other disruptive behavior during classroom instruction or rehearsal may be grounds for a removal from class or rehearsal. In the event that a student is asked to leave the class or rehearsal due to disruptive behavior, faculty will notify a parent/guardian and may wish to speak with them afterwards.

Any form of bullying (verbal, written, physical, virtual, etc.) will NOT be tolerated at Westmoreland Youth Ballet. This is a very serious matter and will not be taken lightly. When an incident is reported to the staff, or we become otherwise aware of it, the student(s) involved will be addressed. Westmoreland Youth Ballet reserves the right to issue disciplinary action or, in rare occasions, expel a student if we perceive the severity or repetitive nature of the bullying to be serious. Drugs, alcohol, or any mood-altering substances are not permitted anywhere on the premises of Westmoreland Youth Ballet. Students in possession of these substances will be asked to leave Westmoreland Youth Ballet and the authorities may be notified if appropriate.

Just as we expect students to conduct themselves in a respectful manner, we expect parents, legal guardians, caregivers, staff and faculty to do the same. Students and parents (including legal guardians and/or caregivers) are required to comply with all studio policies (found in the handbook) and the above code of conduct at all times. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, or in rare occasions, grounds for dismissal.

Dancing is a strenuous activity from which injuries could arise. Westmoreland Youth Ballet,
the teachers and employees are not liable for personal injuries, or loss of, or damage to
personal property.
Each student may decline to participate in any activity. Please inform WYB and instructors of
any physical limitations you may have. If you are in doubt as to your physical abilities, please
consult your physician before participating.

*I affirm that I am, or my child is, physically able to participate in all activities, and has no
medical condition that would prevent him/her from taking part in workshop activities.

*I hereby authorize any and all medical attention to be administered to myself or child, in the
event of accident, injury, sickness, etc., under the direction of Westmoreland Youth Ballet,
until such time as I or the appointed emergency contact person may be contacted. I assume
the responsibility for the payment of any such treatment.

*I have notified WYB of any special medical needs or information required for myself or child.

* I, for myself, my child, my spouse, heirs, legal representatives and assigns, expressly release,
waive, discharge and hold harmless Westmoreland Youth Ballet, its officers, directors,
employees, teachers, agents, successors, predecessors, sponsors, legal representatives and
assigns from all claims, demands, losses, actions, judgments, suits, executions and liabilities of
any kind. In addition, this release is for the entire premises of Westmoreland Youth Ballet,
including but not limited to common areas, restrooms, changing rooms, studios, offices,
sidewalks, stairwells, elevators, parking areas and grounds and any other location where
classes will be held.

PHOTO RELEASE
I hereby grant permission to Westmoreland Youth Ballet LLC to use
photographs and/or video of my child taken in the studio and during rehearsals and any
public performances in publications, news releases, web sites, online social media,and
in other communications related to the mission of Westmoreland Youth Ballet LLC.
