Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited or restricted the congregation of groups of people.

A DANCER’S PLACE has put in place preventative measures to attempt to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, A Dancer’s Place cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending the school could increase your risk and your child(ren)'s risk of contracting COVID-19.

By signing this agreement (the "Waiver"), I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending the A Dancer’s Place and that such exposure or infection may result in personal physical and/or financial injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the school may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, school employees, volunteers, and program participants and their families.

I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren) or myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with exposure, infection, and/or spread of COVID-19 related to my child(ren)'s attendance at A dancer’s Place or participation in classes. On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby waive, release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless A Dancer’s Place, and their respective owners, directors, trustees, officers, employees, agents, and representatives, as applicable, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this waiver and release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of the School, and their respective owners, directors, officers, trustees, employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any program at A dancer’s Place. I understand that this Waiver means I give up my right to bring any claims including for personal injuries, death, disease or property losses, or any other loss, including, but not limited to, claims of negligence and give up any claim I may have to seek damages, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen. If I choose to challenge in court, I agree to bring all claims in the courts of venue and Jurisdiction of Knox County, Tennessee and shall be liable for all attorneys fees and costs incurred by A dancer’s Place associated with such litigation.


I understand and agree that the law of the State of Tennessee will apply to this agreement.

Summer session will run from June 3,2024through July 26,2024. We will be closed on July 4,2024. Tuition will be charged on a monthly basis.

Any classes that do not meet the minimum number of registered students may be cancelled. Tuition and Registration fees are non refundable but may be credited on a case by case basis at the discretion of our director.

Students may make up missed classes with the teacher’s approval. In the event that a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, teacher illness, or unforeseen circumstances, a scheduled make up date for that class will be announced by A Dancer’s Place. No refunds or tuition credits will be given for missed classes.

Tuition is charged on a monthly basis, due on the first day of every month. Payments received later than the 10th of each month will be charged a $10 late fee. Tuition may be paid online using a credit or debit card, or by check or cash in person at A Dancer’s Place studio. Tuition payments may also be set up using our auto-pay system to be automatically charged to account on file on the first day of every month. There will be a $35 fee for all returned checks. First month of tuition and yearly registration fees will be due at time of registration. Tuition and registration fees are non refundable. Credits may be given at the discretion of our director in extraordinary circumstances and on a case by case basis. By submitting this agreement you are agreeing to being personally responsible for all tuition payments and keeping them current as outlined in this agreement.

To withdraw from classes, written notification must be received by the first day of the month of withdrawal. If written notice is not received, monthly tuition is to be paid by the responsible party.

Our Spring Production will take place in Spring 2025. Dates TBA. Costume fees will be charged to your account no later than September 30,2024. These may be split into 2 installments, the first being due on October 30,2024 and the second due on February 1,2025. There will be a recital fee of $40 due on February 1,2025. Costume and Recital fees are non-refundable.

All students must abide by the rules of A Dancer’s Place at all times. Failure to abide by studio rules is grounds for dismissal at the discretion of our director.

All students must wear an appropriate cover up to and from the studio. Students should not arrive or depart the studio in only a leotard and tights. Dance shoes should not be worn outside the studio, so street shoes must be worn when entering or exiting the building.
Students must be respectfully quiet when entering and exiting the studio, and while waiting for their classes to start.
Students must adhere to the required class attire set in place by A Dancer’s Place and individual teachers.
No food or drink, other than water, is allowed in the classrooms at any time.
No cell phones are to be in the classrooms during class times.
Students must maintain a positive attitude and be respectful of teachers, staff, and fellow dancers at all times.
Students should arrive and be prepared for class by the time class start time. Arriving late can be disruptive to the class in session.
Parents must pick their children up promptly at the end of class. Students under 16 should not leave the studio without a parent and should not wait in the parking lot or outside for pick up.

By registering for classes at A Dancer's Place, you herby give A Dancer's Place express permission to use the name, photograph ,video, or likeness of the student through any medium for the purpose of advertising, promotional, or commercial purposes. All such reproductions shall remain the exclusive property of A Dancer's Place.

A Dancer’s Place shall not be responsible or liable for any injuries to the person or property of the student, guest, or any family member that may occur while participating in class or activities at the studio. By submitting this agreement, you are releasing A dancer’s Place of any liability and agreeing to indemnify and hold harmless A Dancer’s Place in the event that any claims are asserted against A Dancer’s Place arising from the student’s participation in any activities at the studio.

A Dancer’s Place will communicate with our students and parents regarding news and events pertaining to the studio via the email address provided at registration and through messages on our parent portal.

*The laws of the state of Tennessee shall govern all terms and provisions of this agreement.

By submitting this agreement the responsible party is agreeing to all terms and conditions explained above.
