HALAU PARTICIPATION
Members of the halau are encouraged and expected to participate whenever possible. These activities include:
1. Marketing– Sharing flyers, and forwarding information through email, twitter and Facebook.
2. Halau Social Events –We need our haumana to assist with setting the area up and breaking down.
Most importantly we hope to have your presence at our events. 3. Performance Events - We need help in some of these events we may need marketing and physical support. 4. Fundraising - To help keep cost low for families we rely on fundraisers to help us grow, expand and meet the expectations of a hula halau.
FUNDRAISING FORMALITIES
Many schools and non-profit organizations fundraise for a cause.
Fundraising and/or soliciting for a personal cause is strictly prohibited on the halau premises.
Any fundraising activity that is not associated to Lôkahi as a whole, a school, church, or non-profit organization must provide supporting documentation to the Fundraising Chairperson. All documentation will be reviewed and approved to ensure compliance.
FYI: As we continue to grow and improve the halau, we will be making a change to our past fundraising practices. In the future a percentage of the profits generated from all Lôkahi affiliated fundraisers will be shared with the Halau general funds.
For example, if a PT fundraiser is held, the majority of the profits would go directly to the performance team, but a smaller percentage of the profits would be shared with the halau funds. Please feel free to direct any questions Fundraising Board Member.
