Next Generation Dance Company Studio Contract (Valid for the entire duration of a dancers time at NGDC)

In order to register for classes at Next Generation Dance Company, parents and dancers (when applicable) are asked to agree to the Studio Contract. This ensures a clear understanding of our studios expectations, policies and procedures.

Health and Medical:

1. I understand that dancing is a strenuous physical activity. To the best of my knowledge, the student has no medical problems or injuries that would prevent participation in class. I understand that it is my responsibility to inform a physician of any medical issues and to obtain written consent for participation if necessary. I agree to inform the instructor(s) of any known health condition(s) that may affect class participation, along with any precautionary emergency plans if necessary. I understand that I must supply all medical equipment for each and every class such as epi-pens, insulin, etc. Failure to provide emergency medical equipment may result in ineligibility for the student to attend class.

2. I agree to release Next Generation Dance Company, its participants, or any instructor from liability related to accidents, injury, illness and/or the acquisition of COVID-19 on-site or at a Next Generation Dance Company related event such as performances or competitions. I also agree to communicate in the event the student has any signs of illness, or injury, and understand that physical clearance from a doctor may be required for the student to return to class if requested. Next Generation Dance Company can require, at their discretion, a sport physical for clearance to dance.

3. By signing this agreement, I am aware that Next Generation Dance Company will not be held liable for any COVID-19 cases that may be contracted during participation on studio premises–inside or outside of the building, or at studio-related events. Participation is at the risk of those teaching and/or taking Next Generation Dance Company classes.

Class Cancellations

1. I understand that a class could be canceled, or the day/time changed, if it does not meet the minimum requirement of four (4) participants. I am also aware that if a class is canceled or the day/time is changed, alternative opportunities will be provided in an effort to accommodate. In this instance, a complete refund may be provided at the studio owner's discretion.

2. I understand that attendance is important for the student and their classmates to optimize their learning. I’m aware that dress rehearsal, as well as attendance in class two weeks prior to a performance are mandatory and will ensure that the student is present. I agree to schedule a private lesson(s) in the event the student misses more than three classes and is struggling to learn the technique and/or choreography at an additional charge.

3. I am aware that due to Next Generation Dance Company's Competitive Company, there may be specific days during the session in which instructors will be absent. Make-up classes will be scheduled in the event a class has to be cancelled for this purpose, or Supply Instructors will be brought in to accommodate the absence of NGDC teachers.

4. In the event of inclement weather, Next Generation Dance Company has the right to cancel classes for the safety of the dancers, families, and staff. Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will not be subject to make-up classes unless otherwise stated.

Payments and Fees:

1. If a student's payment is paid in full, the payment is due by September 10th 2022. With the payment-per-term option, payments will be due on the 1st of the month in September, January, and April. Payment plans must be pre-discussed by the studio owner and the client(s). Competitive dancers, or dancers enrolled in two or more classes per week may also pay per month on the first of each month.

2. I understand that refunds are not given for missed classes and tuition applies regardless of absence.

3. Invoices will be emailed to the email on file. No statements or invoices will be mailed out unless specifically requested.

4. Accounts not paid within 10 days are subject to a 10% late fee.

5. Dancers will not be allowed to attend class if their account is delinquent for more than 30 days. 60 days will result in immediate dismissal from the studio without warning.

6. Tuition payments are non-refundable. You are not financially committed to the entire year unless you pay in full. Once the tuition is paid, it will not be returned or refunded.

7. Next Generation Dance Company automatically enrolls Term 1 students for Term 2, and Term 2 students for Term 3. Please send an email to Next Generation Dance Company by the set deadline if the student will not be participating in following terms class(es).

8. Any student/parent that is wanting to drop out of a particular class(es) must do so by the drop out date listed below or they will be billed for the upcoming term.
a. Drop out of Term 2 by December 22nd
b. Drop out of Term 3 by March 1st

Use of Space:

1. Students and their guests agree to respect and care for the Next Generation Dance Company property and equipment. This includes utilizing property/equipment appropriately, keeping personal belongings tidy, and cleaning up after oneself. By signing this document, I understand that students and/or guests of students that cause significant damage, will be held financially responsible for repair.
Dress Code:

1. I understand that proper attire is required for the dance class setting and the student must be dressed appropriately for class(es). I am aware these are costs in addition to the regular tuition and that the student may be asked to only observe class, if not appropriately dressed.

2. I am aware that if the student participates in the end of the year performance, a costume will be required. All dancers attending Term 3 at Next Generation Dance Company are required to perform in the end of the year performance, and will be billed for a costume regardless of their decision to attend or not. The studio must be made aware of any dancers not taking part in the end of the year show by April 30th 2023 at the latest.

Photo/Film Agreement:

1. I am aware that Next Generation Dance Company may film and take photos for promotional purposes throughout the year. I grant Next Generation Dance Company, its representatives and employees the right to film and take photographs of me and/or my child in connection with these efforts. I authorize Next Generation Dance Company to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that NGDC may use such video footage and photographs of me and/or my child with or without names and for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to: publicity, illustration, advertising and web content.

2. I understand that there is to be absolutely no photography or videography of any other child(ren) done inside the dance studio during classes by any parent, guardian, or spectators without prior permission. For the safety of all students, we ask that any photos or videos taken and posted online only involve your child(ren).


By signing this contract, the signee understands the terms and conditions of Next Generation Dance Company, and agrees to respect and follow the requirements set out by the company. The signee understands they are signing on behalf of themselves and the student, unless the student is over the age of 18, in which they must sign themselves.
