I understand and acknowledge that the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization.

STEPS has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, STEPS cannot guarantee that the undersigned, their child/children, or others who visit its location or who participate in any event or program sponsored by STEPS will not become infected with COVID-19.

By signing below, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child/children, my family, and/or I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending STEPS’ premises and/or participating in an event or program sponsored by STEPS and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at such premises or as a result of participation or attendance at any such event or program may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, STEPS, other attendees or participants at such event or program or their families.

I understand that STEPS reserves the right to hold hybrid or virtual classes if necessary to maintain the safety of students, families, and staff.

I voluntarily assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any illness, injury (including but not limited to personal injury, disability, and death), damage or loss to my child(ren) or myself in connection with my or my child’s/children’s attendance and/or participation in any event or program conducted at or sponsored by STEPS. Without limiting the generality of the waiver, release, and indemnification described above, I hereby irrevocably release, waive, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless each of the RELEASEES named above from any and all liability to me, my children and my next of kin, for any and all claims, demands, suits, actions, causes of action, costs, expenses, losses, awards, judgments, injuries or damages (including reasonable attorney fees and related costs incurred by any of the RELEASEES) caused or alleged to have been caused as a result of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19 or exposure thereto.

I further agree that I will comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to COVID- 19.

I agree that I will not attend or participate in any event or program conducted at or sponsored by STEPS, nor permit my child/children to do so, if i fall under any category which requires quarantine/isolation in accordance with current CDC guidelines. In addition, I will not attend or participate in any event or program conducted at or sponsored by STEPS, nor permit my child/children to do so for at least 5 days if I, my child/children or anyone else in my household (i) experience symptoms of COVID-19, including, without limitation, fever, cough or shortness of breath, or (ii) has a suspected or diagnosed/confirmed case of COVID-19. I agree to immediately notify STEPS if I believe that any of the foregoing restrictions apply.

I understand the guidelines set forth in that document. I understand the consequences outlined in the Code of Conduct and will ensure my student is aware of these guidelines.

I understand, accept and grant permission for images/video/audio of myself or my child to be published or exhibited for editorial and/or publicity purposes without limitation or reservation or prior inspection and further release STEPS its successors and assigns, its officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents, and their heirs, executors, and administrators from all claims, including, but not limited to, those based on libel, invasion of privacy or violation of any right of publicity. The absence of, or lack of explicit mention to a specific claim does not limit the extent of the application of this agreement. This consent shall be irrevocable.

The location of Steps Studio Inc. ("STEPS") is a shared tenancy and as such, is accessible to the public. I understand that STEPS is not responsible for loss or damages to personal property. I waive all claims arising out of loss or damages to personal property whether caused by negligence or otherwise, which I may ever have against STEPS, its successors and assigns, its officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents, and their heirs, executors, and administrators. The absence of, or lack of explicit mention to a specific claim does not limit the extent of the application of this agreement. This consent shall be irrevocable.

Students, parents, and/or legal guardians understand and expressly assume all risks involved in connection with dance instruction, rehearsal, training, and performance at Steps Studio Inc., dba Steps on Broadway (“STEPS”), whether in person or through remote learning via the internet, including but not limited to risk of bodily injury occurring as a result of contact with other students, instructors, walls, equipment, floors, structural poles, and other objects located in or near dance studios or in any location at which dance instruction, rehearsal, training, or performance is taking place, or the Student’s physical condition or physical limitations, and the student, parent, and/or legal guardian warrants that the student is physically fit and able to participate in all activities involved in dance instruction, rehearsal, and performance and assume the risk of such. Students, parents and/or legal guardians waive all claims arising out of dance instruction, rehearsal, training, and performances provided by STEPS whether caused by negligence or otherwise, and whether for bodily injury, property damage, or loss or otherwise, which students, parents, and/or legal guardians may ever have against STEPS, its successors and assigns, its officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents, and their heirs, executors, and administrators. The absence of, or lack of explicit mention to a specific claim does not limit the extent of the application of this agreement. This consent shall be irrevocable.

Tuition is charged as a full season (by semester for First Steps). Please see below for our refund schedule:

Prior to 09/07/2024 – 90% Refund of Tuition, 100% Refund of Costume and Recital Fees
09/07/2024 through 01/27/2025 – 50% Refund of Tuition, 100% Refund of Costume Fees
After 01/27/2025 – No Refunds Granted

Summer Intensive: Following registration, any cancellations will result in Steps Academy retaining $500 of tuition per week per individual. As of June 7, 2025, no refunds will be issued unless Steps on Broadway Academy cancels its Summer Intensive program.
