OVERVIEW
A dress code in dance classes not only ensures everyone can move freely and safely, but it also promotes unity, enhancing the overall joy and energy of the class. It also helps instructors provide e?ective feedback on technique and alignment, ultimately enhancing the learning experience and fostering a sense of respect for the art form.
HAIR
Must be styled neatly as follows:
-1st Dance, Mini Movers, & Boys-away from the face,out of the eyes
- FUNdamental classes (4-6yrs) - bun,braid,or ponytail
Levels 1 & up
-Ballet-bun(bangs,?y aways pinned back)
-Jazz,Tap,Contemporary,HipHop-bun,braid,or ponytail
UNIFORMS
Uniforms vary for di?erent styles/levels and must be purchased through the NTDA store in the Online Portal.
FREE DRESS
The 4th week of each month will be designated as Free Dress when students may wear other appropriate dancewear to class (clothing designed for dance). Please no long dresses, wide-leg pants, etc. that may prevent full range of motion. No glitter. Please note: For safety and best learning outcomes, proper dance shoes are still required during Free Dress. While dancers are free to wear their normal uniform during Free Dress, this is a fun opportunity for them to express themselves and feel extra special!
