Serendipity Dance Studio's Contract
By enrolling your dancer in Serendipity Dance Studio, you agree to the following policies:
For Recital Season Offered between September 3, 2024 - June 22, 2025
By enrolling for dance classes at Serendipity Dance Studio, you (if you are an adult over the age of (18) years enrolling yourself) or your child(ren) (those under the age of (18) years in your guardianship) are authorized to take dance classes at Serendipity Dance Studio and you, as the signing party, agree to abide by all provisions of this Enrollment Contract.
1. Cancellation of this Agreement
You may cancel this agreement at any time by providing Serendipity Dance Studio with a signed and dated letter stating that you wish to cancel this agreement. Upon receiving your letter of cancellation, Serendipity Dance Studio will issue you a confirmation notice. You understand that you will not be refunded any non-refundable deposits, or partial payments for the remainder of the current month during which you submitted your letter of cancellation. Your account status will remain unchanged for those students not affected by the cancellation of this agreement; however, the tuition for these students may increase if you are receiving a multi student household discount.
2. Recital Season Payment Tuition
Tuition is based on a ten (10) month season that runs the months of September to June and consists of thirty-seven (37) classes. The season tuition fee is calculated by taking the total amount due for classes during the season and dividing this number into ten (10) equal payments so that no matter how many lessons per month, your payment is the same each month. The last month of the season includes two recital rehearsals: one in studio and one dress rehearsal as well as the recital itself. Below outlines the payment choices for the season.
2.1 Monthly Payments Tuition for the Recital Season
Tuition for the recital season is paid in ten (10) installments. Tuition shall be paid in full by the 1st of each month or a late fee of $15 may be applied to your account and your dancer will not be permitted to participate in class. For example, Payment 1 is due at time of registering and is applied to September; Payment 2 is due on October 1st and is applied to October, etc.

2.2 Accepted Methods of Payment
Payments are accepted in the form of cash, credit card, or, personal check. You may pay online in the Parent Portal System or at the front desk. Credit card payments will be charged a convivence fee of 3.35%.
3. Waiver and Release of Liability
You hereby waive, release, and discharge any and all claims or rights that you may otherwise have to sue the parties of Serendipity Dance Studio, LLC for any injury or illness, including any arising from the active or passive negligence of Serendipity Dance Studio, LLC, and any loss of personal property or personal property damage.
4. Class information
4.1 Class Placement
Class placement is determined by first by grade level then ability. Moving to a higher level, either grade or ability, will be recommended by the teacher.
4.2 Combining Classes
Serendipity Dance Studio reserves the rights to combine classes during the session. If this is to happen, you will receive a notification on this matter.
4.3 Class Attendance
Attendance is crucial to ensure the successful progress of you or your child, and attendance may be reviewed by you for accuracy within the Parent Portal. Lessons missed because of illness, religious programs, emergencies, etc. may be made up throughout the course of the year. Make up classes must be completed within 2 weeks of the absence. No refunds or deductions will be made for absences.
4.4 Dress Code
Students who are not dressed properly, as described in the dress code document(s) that will be made available to you prior to the start of the season, will not be permitted to participate in class. No refunds or deductions of tuition will be made for failure to participate in class due to the failure to observe the dress code.
4.5 Class Observation
In order to avoid distraction of both students and teachers, parents are not permitted to visit classes.
4.6 Class Cancellation
You will be notified of class cancellations for any reason (weather, etc.) by email. Dancers may make up the class by attending another class that is the same level as the one they are already registered for.
4.7 Drop off and Pick Up
A staff member will be downstairs at all times to let dancers in and out for drop off and pick up. Dancers may wait in the upstairs or downstairs lobby and wait for the teacher to call them into class. No parents or guardians allowed upstairs unless in the Dance with me class.
4.8 Tap Shoes
Tap shoes may not be worn anywhere besides the dance room itself due to the metal on the bottom of the shoe making it very slippery to walk in when not on appropriate flooring.
5. Annual Performance(s)
This season, Serendipity Dance Studio will have an annual recital. All students will be required to be in the recital. All students will have a costume fee that is due by the time costumes are being ordered. You will be notified in advance for when the costume fee is due.
5.1 Annual Recital Costumes
All dancers enrolled in classes will be in the annual recital that takes place in June. Prices for recital costumes vary. The costume fee will include the costume, hair pieces (if any), tight or socks. If the costume fee is not paid by its due date a costume for you or your child will not be ordered. Once the costume order has been placed, Serendipity Dance Studio will offer no refund for a costume. When it is time for costumes to be sent home only students with no balance will be permitted to take their costume home.
5.2 Decision of Costume Size
It is recommended that you allow the staff of Serendipity Dance Studio determine the costume size to be ordered for the student. If you wish to order a different size than the one recommended by the staff member, you are responsible to pay a $30 return costume fee. However, Serendipity Dance Studio cannot guarantee that a replacement costume will be delivered in time for the recital.
5.3 Recital Tickets
Recital tickets will be sold to reserve seating and on a first come, first serve basis. Serendipity Dance Studio will begin to sell tickets on a scheduled day in mid-May. Tickets are nonrefundable after purchase.
5.4 Recital Pickup
Student pick up and drop off for the recital and dress rehearsal is crucial for the safety of your child. Serendipity Dance Studio has policies so that no child is harmed or lost. If you fail to follow the policies, you declare that you will not hold Serendipity Dance Studio, any staff member of Serendipity Dance Studio, liable for any harm or injury that may occur to your child for failure to observe these policies. Recital pick up and drop off policies will be made available prior to the annual recital.
6. Communications
Communication of Serendipity Dance Studio will be provided using many methods including: email, social media, parent portal, and bulletin board in the lobby. The students will be able to see their teachers bulletin board in the upstairs lobby.
7. Social media and Photography/Videography of Students
For the safety and privacy of all families enrolled at Serendipity Dance Studio, please be aware of the following policies.
7.1 Photography and Videography
You agree that you will not post any photography or videography on social media platforms that includes children other than your own, without the consent from the other child and child's parent. You are not permitted to post any choreography in its entirety, as Serendipity Dance Studio owns the copyright to all choreography taught. No photos of dance costumes may be posted to social media until after the recital.
7.2 Rights to Privacy and Self Esteem
You agree that you will not share personal information about the staff, other students, or families, or anything that is proprietary and/or confidential to Serendipity Dance Studio. Students and parents should neither claim nor imply that they are speaking on behalf of Serendipity Dance Studio.
8. COVID-19 Guidelines
Serendipity Dance Studio will continue to follow the CDC's guidelines.
By enrolling yourself or your child(ren) for classes at Serendipity Dance Studio, you certify that you have, read and understand this Enrollment Contract and understand that your agreement on the registration form constitutes your acceptance to abide by and be bound by the policies listed in this Enrollment Contract.
