Location:
The studio is located at 435 N 10th Street in Lewisburg, next to West Branch Rental.
The waiting area is open and there is a monitor to watch a live feed of classes.
The School Year Program:
Classes Aug 26-May 9
Enrolled students are expected to participate in the annual May Recital. Please save potential recital dates as May 15-17, 2025.
Tuition:
Tuition rates are the same as last year.
Tuition is collected monthly, auto-pay required at the time of registration, then again on the 1st of the month for the months of October 2024-April 2025. There are multi-class & sibling discounts. There is a customer loyalty discount & a 10% discount for paying for the year's tuition in full. Tuition discounts apply to regular class tuition only (not the registration fee, costumes, competition team fees, etc).
Tuition for 1 class is $51/month
Tuition for 2 classes is discounted to $98/month
Tuition for 3 classes is discounted to $142/month
Tuition for 4 classes is discounted to $182/month
Tuition for 5 classes is discounted to $222/month
Tuition for 6 classes is discounted to $262/month
The first siblings get the same multi-class discounts plus $4 off tuition. The 2nd sibling gets the same mult-class discounts plus $3 off tuition.
5% & 10% Discounts
-If you were already recognized at a Downtown Dance Recital for your 5-year or 10-years at the studio, you receive a 5% or 10% discount on tuition. This discount should already come up at checkout.
-If you would like to pay tuition in full at registration, you receive 10% off tuition. After you register (paying 1 month and the registration fee), please email Christine at downtowndancepa@gmail.com. We'll update your statement to reflect the discount so you can login and pay.
FAQ: YES, you can combine the 5 or 10 year dancer discount with paying tuition in full.
Calendar:
The school year program starts on Monday, August 26. We are closed Labor Day Monday and resume the following day. Please provide a good email address as most of our holiday closing, snow closing, and other announcements are done via email.
We do close with Bucknell's Winter and Spring break. The winter break is mid Dec and we return the end of January.
Dress Code & Shoes:
When ordering all dance shoes online, be sure to read the sizing guide & reviews. It may suggest sizing up or down from your street shoe size.
On Discount Dance Supply, use coupon code TP43827 for 20% off your first order and free shipping. You ca also find dancewear and dance shoes on sites like Amazon. Look for brands like Theatricals, Dance Now, Capezio, Bloch.
General Dress for Dance : Long hair up, no dangling jewelry, leggings, bike shorts, or tights and ballet skirts. Leotards can be any color/style. Dance dresses are nice for preschoolers so the skirt and leo are one piece. Pack socks, water, extra hair ties in your dance bag.
Ballet/Tap, Ages 4-5 & 5-7- You need ballet & tap shoes for the first day, as both styles are done at each class. Pink ballet shoes for girls, black ballet Shoes for boys. A no drawstring tie shoe like the Capezio Lily Ballet or Stelle tieless on Amazon is recommended. For girls, get a black tap shoe with a velcro closure like Theatricals Child Easy Strap. For boys, get a lace up tap shoe like the Childrens Dance Now Jazz Tap Shoe. Dress is dancewear. The dance style they do in the recital is TAP.
Hip Hop, Ages 4-7- Activewear and sneakers, hair up.
Jazz & Musical Theatre, Ages 6+- Tan, slip-on jazz shoes. Dancewear &/or activewear.
Hip Hop Jazz Fusion, Ages 8+- Black dance sneakers and activewear. *These shoes in particular can run different from the street shoe.
Lyrical & Contemporary, Ages 9+- Tan shoes like the Capezio pirouette with dancewear &/or activewear.
Tap Teens- Black, Lace-up tap shoes with a strong toe box.
Tap/Jazz - You will need black tap and tan, slip-on jazz shoes. If buying new, please buy black, lace-up tap shoes. The recital style for both Tap/Jazz 1 & 2 are JAZZ.
RECITAL COSTUMES:
Dancers are expected to perform in the May Recital at the end of the school-year program.
Dancers get 1 costume per class they are enrolled. The recital costume fee this year is $75 for dancers in classes for ages 3-4, 4-5, 5-7, 6-8. For ages 8+, the costume fee is $90. Prices include sales tax.
November is when the Recital Costume Fee(s) & the Recital Video Fee are taken on autopay. The Recital Video Fee is $15 per family. The Recital is professionally recorded and distributed by digital view/download. Unfortunately, due to the expense of the videography, you cannot opt out of the videography fee. It is a universal link and download.
