Registration: Registration will be from the beginning of August to end of October. Some classes such as the prek and tiny tumblers have an open enrollment A registration fee of $20 will be due at the time of registration ($5 discount for every sibling or parent after). Registration will be done through Dance Studio Pro and registration fee should be paid at the time of signing up in order to hold your spot! If registration is not paid and there is a waitlist we will have to move to the next spot on the waitlist!
Tuition and Payments: Tuition is determined by the amount of classes you take and how long you will be in class each week. Tuition will remain the same each month and be due at the same time whether it's a three-week or five-week month. The first tuition will be due the first week of classes and then the next tuition will be due on October 1st. Tuition will always be due on the first of the month. If it is not received by the 5th of the month then there will be a 10% late fee. We ask that you enroll in autopay so that we can commit to your child's instruction as a priority and payments do not need to be taken during class time. In the event that you will need to pay with cash or card you will need to reach out prior to ensure Faith will be there and available prior to the class so other classes are not interrupted by teachers taking payments.
Costumes and T-Shirts: Costumes are not included in tuition. They will be ordered at the end of October and payment will be required prior to ordering. We will try to find 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 costumes for the combo class but this is not always possible so combination classes may be purchasing multiple costumes. All other classes will be purchasing one costume per class. T-Shirts will also be ordered in October. Everyone is expected to have one as these will be what we wear when we do events and may be required for recital. Once costumes are ordered the money will not be able to be refunded. We will measure and order according to their sizing guide. Most costumes will be fitted and not loose. If you are not happy with your child's fit we will make our best attempt to exchange it. This will depend on availability and stock and there will be a $15 shipping fee.
Clothing and Shoes: Clothing should be dance appropriate. It should be comfortable and easy to move in. It should be tighter fitting so that dancers' bodies remain covered when tumbling. We are encouraging ballet classes wear a leotard to class to allow legs and feet to always be visible for corrections. Shoes should be purchased specifically for your dance class. We will send out a list of what shoe is needed for each class and assist in every way to get them. Especially for acro classes tshirts and loose fitting clothing is not safe for your child to be spotted or assited on skills. Please adhere to the dress code and dancers should ALWAYS have their hair up prior to class.
Food and Drinks: Please only send your child with water to class. We have a water dispenser but your child will need a water bottle for each class. Food should be kept in the foyer/lobby area. From time to time, our teachers may have food in the studio as they have classes continuously some days.
Classes/Concerns: If you have concerns about your child's class please direct these to Faith Latham Tedder by sending a text or email (atimetodancestudio3@gmail.com) or making a phone call (336-963-8044). We will address them as quickly and as appropriately as possible. Please do not interrupt a class for any reason and do not approach teachers with administration problems or concerns as it takes away from the class they are working with and supervision is very important for young dancers.
Open Door: Parents are asked not to wait in the room with their dancers as it is distracting to them and we request their full attention. From time to time we will have an "open door" class. This will be a time the parents can see what their child has learned and is working on. This will be discussed on how often this will happen and for how long parents are invited. If your child is nervous the first couple weeks of class that is normal. We are used to this with our younger dancers and we will do everything to make them feel comfortable and engaged in the class.
Liability: Your child is participating in a physical sport. As with any sport, there is a risk of injury. If your child has any medical situations that may be concerning or we should be aware of this please make note of this. AT2D is not responsible for any damage, injury, or loss that may occur on the premises or under or instructors care. We take safety seriously so we will work to minimize the risk of injury.
Recital: Each year we have an annual recital for students to showcase what they have learned. Most classes have a performance at recital but not all. Some classes have more than one. This will be discussed with you at the beginning of the year. Recital is tentatively June 7th with rehearsal occuring the night before. The location will be Asheboro High School if available. We will keep you posted. Dances at recital will consist of choreography given by AT2D instructors only. Other than typical recital dances practiced in class, solos and duets may be given through private instruction. Dancers and staff can arrange scheduled times to practice specific skills or to learn choreography for recital performances. Rates for private classes will be set by agreement of the instructor and studio owner. If you are interested in privates for your child, reach out to the studio owner to get scheduled. Please understand privates will first go to our competition numbers and this may take up the majority of our availability.
Recital Fee: There will be a recital fee of $65 due April 1st. This fee is used for you to get a copy of the recital recording and helps cover the expenses of recital. For a second child the recital fee is $15 and the third child's would be $10.
Privates: As mentioned above solos, duets, and trios can occur by private instruction. Competition numbers will be given priority for private times but you can reach out to Faith or Gracie if you or your child would like to have a private time scheduled. It will be at the agreed upon rate between the instructor and dancer and will have to be scheduled together.
Attendance: We will be taking attendance at each class. If your child is not there for class they will be expected to catch up the next week. Unfortunately, we will not be able to go back to what was taught the week before. If your child is in an advanced class they will be sent a video of any new choreography and should be prepared for the next class to move forward with the rest of the dancers. Tuition is not prorated due to absences.
Snow/Bad Weather: In the event of bad weather we will be posting closings on Dance Studio Pro as well as Facebook. We will make every effort to make this class up at another time. Our schedule is quite full this year but we will work to find spots to make up the class.
Other Closings: AT2D follows Asheboro City Schools calendar. However, we do not recognize most holidays celebrated on Mondays due to the quantity of these. A calendar will soon be posted with all of the dates that we will be closed. However, Spring Breaks and Christmas Breaks follow Asheboro City Schools' schedule.
Etiquette: We will not tolerate any disruptive behaviors from our dancers or parents. Use of profanity, threatening behaviors, physical aggressions, ridiculing of teachers or dancers, and disrespecting teachers will result in immediate removal of the class and could result in permanent removal from the studio. Always be respectful and kind to others. In the event that our younger dancers are having a tough time keeping their hands to themselves or following directions a conversation will be had with parents to put a plan in place to help the dancer be successful in their class. Should this plan not help encourage the dancer a conversation may be had that the child is not yet ready for their class and a suggestion will be made based on that.
Social Media: Please do not record the choreography of our instructors and post them on social media prior to our recital. Our girls work hard to learn their dances and we want the first time they are seen to be on stage. Also please note there may be children in your child's class who can not be posted on social media for a variety of reasons, please be sure that you are respectful of the safety and parent's requests of other dancers. We will try to let you know if this is the case for your child's class but its best not to post pictures or videos of dancers that include their face without parent permission.
Messaging: Please have a valid email address for use to efficiently be able to get out information quickly and efficiently. You can provide multiple emails if mom and dad both need to be included in contacting. Also be sure that you have selected to receive text messages and emails. If you have not done so you may not receive necessary information.
