Classes: We are a year-round school breaking around the holidays if class falls on a holiday. Withdrawing from the school requires 30 days notice, but there are no long-term time commitments.
Referral Program: For every student that refers someone to Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance in Mississippi, the referring student will each receive a $20 towards their online portal account.
Yearly Registration Fee: All students pay a yearly registration fee each fall. This fee goes towards being a part of the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance through Niall O’Leary, TCRG, ADCRG, a registered school through CLRG (An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha) aka the Commission of Irish Dance.
Tuition: Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month. After the 10th, a $10 late fee will be added. If circumstances occur in which you cannot pay by the 10th, or require payment arrangements, please contact us to work out accommodations or an extension to avoid late fees. We can accept debit/credit cards, checks, cash, Venmo, and Paypal.
Costumes: Our Niall O’Leary School Team Costume can be purchased throughout the year through the school. Correct socks, shoes, and accessories must be worn to perform or compete. Contact the school for more information on pricing and how to order.
Extreme Weather or Unexpected Interruption of Classes: If classes must be canceled due to inclement weather or events beyond our control such as stay-at-home orders, power outages, hurricanes, and other emergencies, make-up classes will be offered. If dancer(s) is absent from class/private lesson/workshop/other event, no refunds will be given.
Dance Dress Code: Dance students are to wear athletic attire to class. This includes shorts, skirts, leotards, t-shirts, or athletic shirts, and tank tops. No long skirts, dresses, or jeans of any kind will be allowed. Tights and leggings are allowed. Dancers may also wear black dance pants over their shorts/skirt in cold weather, until the dancer is warmed up. Irish hard shoes and/or soft shoes are required for footwear. Beginners may wear socks or ballet/jazz shoes to classes until Irish shoes can be purchased.
Parent’s Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events: It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all dance activities, performances, open studio hours, etc. Information will be provided via email, the portal, during class time, the studio database, and the private Facebook group. It is the parents’ or adult student’s responsibility to regularly maintain awareness of these communication tools. It is also the parents or adult student’s responsibility to inform the school of any address, telephone number, and email address changes.
Pickup/Dropoff of Underage Dancers: Students and guests are not permitted in the studio room while class is in session, unless it is a trial class. Please drop off your dancer 5-10 min before class begins and pick them up at the time their class ends.
Student Behavior: We are here to have fun, but also provide an environment conducive to learning. While we don’t run a silent class, we do expect a level of respect for our instructors and students. Students are expected to listen when the teacher is talking to them or the entire class and raise their hand for questions. If students are working in breakout sessions, they are allowed to talk to each other and work as a team to practice. Students should not come up and interrupt the instructor if they are working with another student. They should wait until it is their turn or until the instructor has finished with the other student.
No cartwheels or running around the studio is permitted. Students should not touch the mirrors or studio equipment without instructor permission. Sitting down, being on the phone, or playing is not permitted during class. Any student(s) who are not listening, not following directions, are being disruptive, or are acting unsafe will be required to sit out of class until the instructor approves of them joining the class again. If behavior issues continue, students may be asked to drop the class and return at a later date (the student is older, issues have been resolved, etc). Parents will be informed in private of any behavior issues or concerns.
